I will be honest and admit to skim reading the last few chapters. Last bought a DC (and Marvel for that matter) comic in the 70s. Also not particularly interested in the plethora of superhero films around these days. Hoped for a lot more about DC from earlier decades but, having said that, it will appeal to hard-core fans.

It's a very good dive into the overall chronology of the DC universe over the past 80 years or so. However it can be very self-congratulatory, and from the 2000s onwards it becomes very exhausting to read (though this is more an issue with the events themselves that the book is attempting to briefly describe!).

Very good book! Nicely put together, and definitely chose all the right stories to talk about. There are some chapters I will read at later dates (after I have read the actual story it discusses).
Would recommend to a DC fan or comic reader.

A decent recap of notable events throughout DC's continuity/history. Handy for collectors looking for new stories or key issues/event books.
