Half-Blood's Birthright
Time is running out and I need answers, now.At the Trial of Ares, I found a lead that could save my life. An ancient tome believed to belong to the most infamous Druid in history. Notoriously secretive, the order of the Druids passes their secrets from parent to child, by word of mouth. This tome might be the only record of their rites and blood magic, ever written. It’s the best chance I have of curing my curse.Unfortunately, it’s in the possession of a notorious witch, Kasey Chase. She fancies herself the hero of New York City, so I doubt she’ll part with such a dangerous relic voluntarily. Particularly with an army of vampires stalking the city’s streets.Good thing I wasn’t planning on asking.Join Seth in Half-Blood’s Birthright, an action-packed urban fantasy adventure set in the heart of New York City.

Vampires, Sidhe, assassins, oh my! Seth and company are back as he continues his search for a cure to the Caldwell blood curse in S.C. Stokes’ Half-Blood’s Birthright (Urban Arcanology, Book 4). Be prepared for a fun and wild ride through New York in this really sorta perfect, and perfectly exciting, urban fantasy. Add together a great plot (and overall story arc), great characters (that continue to develop) and great writing and the result is, well, great (but I’ll guess you knew that was coming) - it’s also easy to highly recommend.

A NEW lead to cure his curse leads Seth to Kasey Chase and the Vampire attack in New York City!
When Seth was at the Trial of Ares, he found a lead that might cure the Caldwell curse. Now he needed to do two things after delivering the katana to Sakura, Tadashii’s daughter: first, get to New York City and find Kasey Chase, and second, help with the Vampire attack on New York City. He thought this would be easy until they touched down at the private airstrip and Vampires attacked the plane. Seth, Murdock, Lara, and Dizzy were unsure how they would make it out of this one alive. The hanger and plane were damaged, the attackers seemed to be coming out of the woodwork. Seth decided to get their own help; he told Murdock to see if the Brotherhood had any men in the area that could help them out.
It was not a call he wanted to make, but they did not have much choice and knew that the help would come at a price. When the help arrived, together they fought off the vampires, and then they were loaded into the SUV’s and off they went to see the head of the Brotherhood, and the story begins.
Join Seth, Lara, Murdock, and Dizzy as they join forces with Kasey in the fight with the vampires and hopefully a significant lead to stopping the curse…
What did I like? Sam Stoke has the gift of crafting the most exciting books in his fingers as they dance over his keyboard. From the Kingdom in Chaos to Conjuring a Coroner to this Half-Blood series, Sam has never missed a step in keeping the tension high, the characters extraordinary, and the books coming.
What will you like? Another exciting and mysterious chapter in Seth Caldwell’s life. The action is swift, dangerous, and needs to be done. The city of New York depends on the group's action, and Seth knows that he has to help, even if the lead to his curse is not helpful. Don’t miss this fantastic new chapter in the Half-Blood series with Samuel Stokes’s newest book, “Half-Blood’s Birthright,” available NOW!!!

Loved the fact Samuel intertwined Seth and Kasey's stories, it made it more real.
Seth and his cohorts are back in NYC to concur the vampire plague that has struck. Still exhausted from his last endeavor to find a cure for his family curse Seth found out Kasey may have a way. Well, of course he goes about it his own way and tries to sneak in to steel the book with the possible information and of course got cause. He finds himself confronted with someone who has unbelievable ability and power as he fights with this powerful woman. The two are really impressed with each other's abilities because Seth has so much magical strength as well.
Well, I am getting boggled down with retelling so getting to the point.
If you are a Kasey and Seth fan you will not be disappointed with this new installment. Seth trying to find his cure so he can live peacefully and quietly is not going to be soon. Not only the curse but the family obligations in the future are beginning to show their ugly heads. He just wants to get married, settle down and have a happy family and life. Obligations are raising up as he finds Kasey to help him. They seem to become friends by the end of this book and Kasey does want to help. You don't want to be on Kasey's bad side. He and his team fit in well in the story and makes the story so much bigger. It intertwined with the two stories very nicely.
Once again good tale for older teens and adults as well. A lot of violence, but it is vampires. Fortunately not too graphic. Fun read.
Once again thank you Samuel for letting me review your story. Here's to many more tales like this

I can't say enough about Sam Stokes' Urban Arcanology series. His writing is entertaining as heck with an all 'round killer pace that makes my neck hurt from whiplash, yep I'm reading it that fast. Like a dog wanting to grab your stake I can't put the book down for fear of my little brother grabbing it before I finish. I say each book is my favorite and then Sam writes another one and that becomes my new favorite. His stories are fresh, and well thought out, his characters kickass and fun. The evils are a nasty bunch of wackos and sometimes it's hard to tell whose side they are really on, the normals are not quite so normal, and the Gods questionable. The main character Seth Caldwell, plus his team and fiancé are brilliant, and this Kasey Chase crossover is just smashing. I have yet to enjoy a series as much as Sam Stokes' Urban Arcanology and Half-Blood's Birthright is a winner, so if reality gets too much and you need a break you cannot go wrong with this Urban Fantasy, Half-Blood's Birthright.

Another rollicking adventure with Seth and his friends. This story intertwines with A Dance with Death, in Sam’s other series, but there is very little overlap. I’ve read other books where it was the same story from different points of view, but this one is different. It keeps your attention, and fleshes out the situation. Seth is trying to steal the tome which Kasey recovered, and which might help him break his family’s curse. He joins the fight to rid New York City of the vampires of the Feudal Court. Throw into the mix the animosity towards him of the Winter Court of the Sidhe. It makes for a breathtaking ride. A caveat: there is a little swearing, which I don’t remember in the other books. It’s not out of context, or prevalent. Also, there are allusions to a lesbian relationship. I’m looking forward to the continuation of the series. I received a free copy of this book, with no obligation.

Head spinning action again!
All the action and adventure you would expect from this author jam packed with twists and turns you didn’t see coming. Mr. Stokes takes you on a wild ride through New York City battling the worst nightmare that could ever happen. Good thing Seth has his friends to help him. They save his life more than once. Plus, Kasey is here to add her support as they all battle vampires and Rhain, King of the Feudal Court who turns Madison Square Gardens into a literal bloodbath. But that’s not the end of his fight. He also faces the Winter Sidhe to save his betrothed, Lara, and his friend Dizzy. But he suffers a major injury which may leave his arm permanently damaged. Only time will tell. But wait! There’s more to come in the next adventure of Seth and his search for a cure to his birthright. Let’s hope this next one sticks.

Seth is back and so is all the fun. Seth has a lead to help with his curse and has a plan. And what a story this was. Full of action, danger, and lots of fun I was hooked from the beginning and could not put it down. Had to see what would happen and how things would go sideways. Entertaining and so much fun to see what was up in the life of Seth.

Well apart from another desecration of yet another DB5….this is a cracking read.
So much action in this episode and with Kasey in the mix it’s a sure winner.
All our old favorite characters are back to make this a brilliant adventure storyline.
Love this series and can’t wait for the next one.

Action Adventure!
Seth gets more then he bargained for when going after the ancient tome in a city filled with vampires. An entertaining, unpredictable, fast paced, action adventure.

Another good read in the series that also interacts with a Conjuring a Cornorer. Great characters with such a fast moving storyline.

Half-Blood's Birthright (Urban Arcanology Book 4), my seventh read from author Samuel Stokes. Breakneck pace, intricately & tightly woven storyline, another 295-page action-packed adventure. “I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. the next book in the series, Half-Blood's Quest (Urban Arcanology Book 5). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
