Trixie and Katya, dynamic duo, have put their perfectly bewigged heads together to expand their guide on Modern Womanhood into the workforce.
The gals dive into anything and everything a woman needs to know - from getting the job, to thriving at work, and (of course) leaving or transitioning your career.
"Are you a fierce fucking diva who lives to serve? Well, take a number, bitch, and welcome to the club, because we are too."
Along the way there are plenty of anecdotes and hilarious asides as the girls mix genuinely great advice with completely off-the-wall observations and suggestions.
Overall, this was a really fun, light read. Perfect for a commute or to have on while doing chores around the house - and honestly, despite the sarcasm, sass and silliness, I did walk away with some really great bits of advice!

A funny and fast paced guide to the modern day work force from two comedic drag queens. I read the book in two sittings as it was incredibly bingeable. As someone who has/still works for corporate America, I found a lot of the chapters to be insanely relatable. They touch on real topics with pop culture references and humor. I love Trixie and Katya’s banter back and forth and I do think a little bit of their magic was lost here since we can’t see or hear them bouncing ideas off each other. However, if you are a fan of them or drag in general- I suggest you check it out !

I feel like there's a joke to be made about the fact that I read this book in its entirety while on the clock, but I can't think of one. Anyway, this is another hilarious book from two of my favorite biological women. Funny, charming, and surprisingly genuine.

Delightfully witty and outlandishly charming, just like Trixie and Katya themselves. While the satire and jokes take obvious and deserved centre stage, beneath the humour there is earnestness to be found and enjoyed just as much. Particular highlights for me are Katya's love letter to tipped labourers, Trixie's tales of her various firings, and any of the sections that aim a well-deserved punch at the absurdly rich. The photos, too, are a delight, gorgeous and humourous in equal measure.

December 5, 2022slammed the audiobook during on the clock hours! these two can make me laugh about anything even the increasingly depressing aspiration of having a “career!” wish there were a few more co-written chapters, but these authoresses are primarily models anyway.

I really love these two biological women. I opened the book to read and I could hear their voices in my head so clearly that I knew I needed to listen to the audiobook. Definitely recommend reading along in the physical copy so you can see their amazing photos as well.

A riot of laughter. Trixie and Katya's cutting wit and poignant observations had me in stitches throughout the entries book.

I just really fucking love Trixie and Katya. This book is absolute pure hilarious nonsense, exactly as I was expecting it to be. If it’s anything to do with this duo then you know it’s going to be ridiculous and you’re going to love it. There really isn’t much substance to this book other than laughs, definitely don’t go into looking for illuminating life advice. And if you take advice from these two then don’t be surprised at the disappointing results.

If you’re a fan of Unhhhh like I am then you’ll like this book. It’s very on-brand for these two biological women: absurdist, tongue-in-cheek humor. What surprised me is that there’s actually some pretty decent advice on drag and careers (from Trixie) buried in all the joky stuff.

This absurdly long train of a book wrecked before it left the station.
“While there is still no definitive answer for why people like to poop at the bookstore, I think it’s because we feel like we’re home. Home is where the books are. I would feel so at home at a publishing company’s office that I would annihilate their plumbing system” (35).
“Like the f-word or anything versatile and effective, it’s important to not abuse the tools” (39).
“The rancid broth of these broken systems cannot be distilled by two cross-dressers in a satirical coffee table book such as the one you’re reading, but we can at least mention it before we shit all over it” (40).
“The fitness of a leader is often measured by ridiculously arbitrary distinctions like accolades, IQ, alma mater, and Myers-Briggs type. These are all meaningless. Nobody has ever gotten anywhere by being balanced and rational” (105).
“The modern business model is a satanic ritual, and your body is the sacrifice” (117).

I listened to this book with my husband on a weekend trip to Philadelphia. It was perfect for the ride. It lasted all 4 hours of driving. It was light and funny and had some truly great moments. It was not as funny as the Trixie and Katya's Guide to Modern Womanhood, but I will forgive them . . . this time . . .

Katya and Trixie’s Working Girls was provocative, sharp, and absolutely hilarious. Working Girls is also super endearing and full of genuine decency at the same time. It actually made me feel a sense of self-importance that every working girl should feel. Loved it!

I love these two queens. Their YouTube series "UNHhhh" and "I Like to Watch" as well as their podcast "The Bald and the Beautiful" have gotten me through some tough times. Also, they are gorgeous and hilarious.
This book was fun and cheeky. And what timing to read it while Trixie takes a well deserved sabbatical. The advice in here is funny and not entirely impractical. The photos are, of course, fierce.
