About the author

John F. Ankerberg (born Dec 1945) is the host of a nationally syndicated evangelical Christian television talk show. The show is broadcast from Chattanooga, Tennessee via satellite and highlights contemporary Christian viewpoints and debates among well known Christian scholars.

Ankerberg holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from Luther Rice Seminary and is an ordained Baptist minister. He is the author or co-author of numerous books including Darwin's Leap of Faith: Exposing the False Religion of Evolution (Harvest House, 1998), and The Secret Teachings of the Masonic Lodge: A Christian Perspective (Moody, 1990).

He is married and has one daughter.

Not wonderful, but not bad. First half definitely has a lot of repetitive content in it, afterwards it was a bit more interesting. I read this because I wanted a better understanding of the 'end times' as described in Revelation of the Bible.
While I may not have a perfect picture, I do have a better understanding of the opinion brought forth by this book.

Ankerberg and DeYoung are less authors than interviewers for much of the book (and interviewees, as I will explain.) The authors claim that the book will answer questions and give a Biblical basis for the current events in Israel. To accomplish these goals the authors provide a brief history how the modern state of Israel came to be and what exactly is currently happening in Israel. On these points, I found that the authors were successful. Unfortunately, this was only one part of the book.

I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed this book so much. It really helped me understand what is going on with Israel and the surrounding countries. The authors interview the prime minister of Israel and other Israeli authorities. They also talk about prophecy and countries mentioned in the Bible and the book of Revelation. Excellent book!
