Exceptional Sophia Beaufont #1–12

The Exceptional Sophia Beaufont Omnibus Books 1-12

Rate this book
The first dragon rider in over a hundred years has been born. And it’s a girl.

Never before has a female been chosen to ride a dragon. Join Sophia as she conquers evil, as the dragon riders should have been doing for centuries with the first 12 books in The Exceptional Sophia Beaufont series!

---

The Elite, a guild comprised exclusively of dragon riders, is dead according to most. No one has seen a rider in decades. The problems they used to fight overwhelm the world. Dragons are thought to be near extinction.

However, the Elite aren’t dead…

It’s just that a bunch of crusty, old men who do nothing that benefits the world at large are easy to mistake as useless corpses.

Sophia Beaufont is about to change all of that.

When the dragon egg that magnetized to her hatches, it sets Sophia on a new course. The Elite are immediately notified. She’s expected to train. To defend. To fight.

Sophia is ready to conquer evil, as the dragon riders should have been doing for centuries.

However, the Elite have been turning a blind eye, allowing the world to be overrun by criminals.

That’s all about to change.

S. Beaufont isn’t a girl who will be told to sit down and relax when a war is brewing that only a dragon rider can extinguish.

This omnibus is a BEAST, more than three thousand pages. Luckily, it speeds by with light, fun stories. The series reminded me of Naomi Novik's Temeraire series, but set in the present day: episodic, adventure-centric stories with a fun cast of characters, all surrounding the special bond between a dragon and his rider. If I have a complaint, it's that I wanted a little more dragon--there was so much going on in this expansive world that I felt like the dragon-rider premise wasn't fully lived up to--but they were certainly fun reads!

Rather than totally fail to once againleave a review as I finish my second pass through this book, I wanted to come in the very least, to put up the five star rating, with the hope that an actual review will follow

What…NO! I’m only halfway through! 😳

We first meet Sophia as a terribly bright 8-9 year old in Liv’s series, but now, thanks to a quirk of fate - and a sassy dragon - Sophia is all grown up, and off to become a dragon rider. The first female dragon rider. And boy, does that throw the head of the dragon riders into a tizzy. This was an adventure as Sophia and Lunis come into their own through all the trials and other machinations aimed at them during their time at Gullington. We meet some very quirky characters, go on quite the adventure, and just when I thought things would all be wrapped up as I started the final book, I discovered that not only had I just finished a two-thousand plus page omnibus, but now I have to do it all over again! So if you plan on reading this behemoth, then just remember it’s only the first half of the story.

Fabulous series!!

Little Sophia Beaufont grows up literally overnight, becoming the world's first female dragon rider of the Dragon Elite. The only organization with absolute authority on all things mortal.

Join Sophia and the other dragonriders to right the wrongs that have been done to Mother Earth, the planet, all those who call it home as they go on death defying missions (sometimes with their big sister Liv, King Rudolph Sweetwater, or other favorites you may know from the Liv Beaufont series).

This a must read for any and all Sarah Noffke and Michael Anderle fans!!

I was totally taken into the story, it was so hard to find a stopping point. There were many nights that had me reading through the night into the first morning light. The only catching a few hours of sleep.
I love Sophia and Lunis! I love most of the characters, the good guy’s. In the end even Trin Currante grew on me. I’m hoping they’ll be able to help her and the rest of the cyborg’s and all those whose lives were ruined by Lenna’s Saverus Corp., through his mad science experiment’s too.

On to the next 12 books! I hope the story continues just as exciting and captivating as this one, and that there’s more Sophia and Lunis to come, even after that!

fun times

When reading fantasy or sci-fi or genres in general, a reader often gets very familiar with stereotypes. For example fae being tricky or goblins being short. Welcome to a universe where Mother Nature is a southern belle; Father Time was a goblin, is now an elf and has previously been a fae; elves are hippies; and dragons can tell really bad ‘dad jokes’.

Throw in the fact that this is an urban fantasy combining the modern with the mythical, and an occasional nod to science fiction and you get an amazing read.

Riveting, realistic and fun!

After her sister Liv figures out the House of Fourteen, Sophia sets the world on a new path to understanding magic and magicians. Humor is Sarah Noffke and Michael Anderle’s underlying tool to get a serious story with serious moral implications into the hands of their readers. I have read the Liv Beaufort series in total and now half the Sophia Beaufort series. Can’t wait to tackle the next 12 in 12 days, yup, I can’t put them down! Oops, it’s almost the first of the month, drafted bills have to get in the way of reading, lol.

Just had to buy the next series...

Here in New Zealand from the UK following the woman's rugby world cup, naturally with a degree of free time, what to read? Bought the previous series and just finished early hours this morning...so what to read next? Saw the continuing series and so enjoyed the characters; especially loving the discourse between Sophie and Linus her Dragon (dad and pun jokes galore) have now purchased next lot. This says it all really.

Awesome series!

Ninja Noffke does an amazing job again, with another epic storyline stemming from the Liv Beaufort series.

Sophia faces many challenges, from growing up, to fighting cyborgs to finding love, in spite of a world trying to keep her down.

Follow her and her dragon Lunis, as they navigate the challenges together in this amazing Omnibus series of death defying adventures!

Enjoy!

Sophia Beaumont’s Amazing Story

I couldn’t put it down. I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. And I am looking forward to the next book. The story was great and I love the author notes. Thank you for helping me through a long time in isolation. You put many smiles on my face.

Sophia rocks

Sophia is definitely exceptional. She links to a dragon egg as a child and grows up abnormally quickly. She then becomes the first female dragon rider much to the frustration of the dragon riders leader. The older male Dragon riders have to learn how to deal with modern times after centuries of isolation.

Challenging

Sophia was challenged beyond belief, her Dragon Lunis, though young as was Sophia, was the perfect match to help Sophia solve situations and keep Sophia calm.
Boss man Hiker was very old fashioned in his dedication to work, only Sophia's every action, changed thinking.
An excellent story line, bringing in all the myths.

Wow! "Familia est sempiternum"!

Beautiful way to continue the Beaufont family story! True, these stories are about the youngest Beaufont child, but Sarah and Michael skillfully interweaved Sophia's story in with the stories of her older siblings, Liv and Clark. I love this world and can't wait to read on and continue visiting this totally wonderful and awesome world!

Sophia Beaufont lives up to her Glorious name.

I like reading these boxed sets. You’re able to follow the development of the characters, as they embark on their adventures. Some are nail-biting, some are humorous, but all contribute to the building of Sophia’s world, and the dry humour that gets her through it all. Very enjoyable.

Dang read all 12 in like a week. Fun is an understatement

The style is appropriate for younger readers but as a not young guy I enjoyed it thoroughly and then some. The modern tie in's and classic magic and snark are all great fun and the wit of the authors is undeniable.

Sophia, Wilder

Sophia Bonifont has bonded to a Dragon, Lunis, to join the Dragon Elite as the first female human member. She has problems with Hiker, the leader of the Elite.

Characterization and plotting are fair to excellent.

Mesmerizing set...

I really like to have a series of books to read. What an amazing journey, reading the first 12! Can't wait to get the 2nd, but I think I'm going to go backwards and read about Liv before I continue with Sophia

Poorly written

While I am aware these books were written for young adults, the prose and preachy language is annoying and badly edited. These stories could have been great if told as though intelligent people would read them.

Invincible

Smiles, laughter, and tears just some of the emotions felt throughout reading about Sophia B. The little girl who grew up so quickly yet the most inspiring, loving, caring, friendly and supportive person . Someone who'd be an inspiration and heroic to all around

Absorbed

Sophia was a delightfully complicated and yet wonderfully “human” character. I wish more of us today could see the good in others that she did, finish on promises, and look for nonviolent solutions.

loved it.

A good twisty story line I think will appeal to all ages. I’m in my 70s and it kept this old sci-fi and fantasy connoisseur inthralled . Looking forward to the next episode.🤠
