He's the kind of man who charms you with more than a lazy smile, has more ripples in his muscles than the ocean and more confidence than a king--suggesting he's hiding all kinds of beefy charm.
He knows what you want, what kind of shoes you would knock over a bank to own, bakes your favorite cookies better than the bakery and has a genuine enjoyment of rom-com movies that's just unfair.
He knows how to make you laugh until you pee and how to make you melt from the inside out.
One lucky woman will capture this hotshot charmer’s heart some day...

But it's not going to be me. I can't even try for a slice of his beef.

An Agent and a hockey player do not mix. I have an ironclad rule.More importantly, the agency I work for has an iron-clad rule and I know there will be dire consequences if I break it.

No dating the clients.
No fooling around, not even flirting will be tolerated.

Well, damn. How am I supposed to do my job? My boss rolls his eyes. "Professional flirting doesn't count. No relationship with the clients that isn't a professional one. And Honey, if you do, it's a fireable offense."

He smirks. He's an ex-player—hockey that is—the most respected, most revered man in the NHL, and the best in the sports agent business.

If he fires me, I'm done. I may as well hang up my sign-on-the-dotted-line pen and get a job at Dunkin Donuts...

He Has Charm is a full length New Adult hockey romance set in the world of the Boston Brawlers hockey team. You'll see players from other stories drop in for fun, but this book can be read as a stand-alone. Loved the characters of Maddox and Harper. They are such a great couple and the chemistry between them is off the charts. Maddox is the hot hockey superstar that finds himself in trouble. Harper is the agent that is charge of keeping him out of trouble and getting his image back on track. The attraction between them is explosive, but a relationship between them isn't allowed. This story has some sad moments, but everything works out in the end. I really enjoyed the book, it was fast paced and kept me interested all the way through. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book and all opinions are my own.

A cute hockey romance

He's a playboy hockey star who's latest off ice antics have caused a media storm, causing him to be traded to the Boston Brawlers. She's tasked with handling his personal image and keeping him away from trouble. Sparks start to fly, but they are forbidden from having a relationship or both face losing their jobs.

This was a sweet romance with a satisfying happy ending with some bumps a long the way.

Maddox Knight is a NHL superstar but a birthday gift gone wrong results in a less than savory video being posted online. As a result his team trades him to the Boston Bawlers. That’s not too bad since they’re an up and coming team, but from New Orleans to Boston is serious culture and climate shock. Another thing is the Brawlers have only agreed to take the trade if he comes with a “handler” to basically babysit and make sure he lives up to the family vibe the team cultivates. That means no drinking, partying, and most of all no women until the end of the season.
His sports rep agency sends an unexpected person to fill this unusual job. You guessed it a smart breathtakingly beautiful woman, Harper St. John. The attraction is mutual and immediate. But there’s one caveat; no hanky panky!
A fun, well written romance that will you captivated!
Definitely A MUST READ!

The main characters Maddox (Mad) & Harper have an explosive chemistry. How the end up together is not conventional & turns out to be entertaining & funny.

Mad is a devil, the good kind. He has charm, he flirts like he breathes and his heart is full of goodness, but trouble finds him everywhere he goes. The latest "trouble" has him in hot water. Enter Harper! Harper is very different then Mad, she is driven by the need to help her family out financially, serious & no nonsense.

Stephanie writes great romance novels and this is another one. The characters she brings along in these books makes the reader never wanting to put the book down, which was clearly my issue with this book. Do not miss this read; its fun, a bit sad, & a great sports romance read.

Maddox gets burnt by a birthday present set up by some teammates from his NOLA hockey team. Living his life of promiscuity makes the gift does not seem unusual. Multiple ladies, blindfolds, and surprise. Boy, he is surprised. Except for one, he did not know, and when the blindfold came off she is recording. She was sending it out to three different places. He is traded, to another team, the next day.

His long-time agent, Ham Jett agency, has a lot, of changes for him, but he makes, it known he’s lucky, to be with the new team, too. Because it is the only one willing to take a chance. However, Maddox is greeted by a beautiful sexy woman that is laying down the law per the Jett agency.

Harper St. John lets him know that Jett management has been hired, to keep him, under control. The new team management for, the Boston Brawlers doesn't fool around. Even with her telling him, she will keep him under control, he still did the shameless flirting. His personality of being a notorious charmer is held up, as she hears him talk. She needs to get him, to sign the management agreement, so, she asks why he doesn't care he’s being traded to, Boston. She tells him he should read the agreement before, signing because they both will be signing.

He is happy with the move, Boston, Mass. is a hockey town, more than NOLA. Not to mention that was the town of, the video. So, he takes the pen, and signs without reading, of course. Harper, however, does pause because, it goes against everything she has worked for, but she has, to accomplish what needs, to be done. Then, Maddox says the wrong thing and calls her, ‘Sugar Buns’ he admits he forgot her name.

She tells him he better learn it because she's going to be his handler. He says it’s about to get friendly. She didn't smile, what she did do is tell him to be ready, and packed in three hours. Because they would be leaving NOLA for Boston for a hotel by the Garden. His place will be packed up and shipped and stored. His clothes and car will be shipped and delivered to the apartment they find when they get there.

This was an enjoyable story. These two characters right off the bat, you can feel the sizzle of their attraction. You know right away their time together is going to be bumpy, funny, and sexy.

I don't like the way the team treats,
Maddox when they were so, scandalous themselves in their relationships. Ham was not my favorite at first, but he redeems himself in the end. I have, to say this was, a very intense book, with a couple having so many hurdles, to go over.

Harper is a woman with a career on an upward trajectory and she needs to keep it that way to help out her family. She gets an assignment to be Maddox's handler when he gets traded to the Boston Brawlers. Maddox gets treated poorly by his hockey team when they trade him after a group of women set him up. He decides to embrace his new position with the Boston Brawlers team since it's a great opportunity to prove himself. He and Harper should not get involved with each other but they just can't help themselves and they can only fight their attraction for so long before they give in.

I think Harper had very good motivation for wanting to avoid getting involved with Maddox. Her backstory is pretty sad. I really like that she didn't play the poor little me act but instead dug in her heels and worked really hard to earn her place in the sports management field. I was rooting for her to find solutions to every twist and turn in the story. I think the author did a great job showing how resourceful and resilient Harper can be. Maddox is a bit of a conundrum. By the end of the story, I really liked him. I didn't have super positive vibes from him early on. I decided that the author probably chose that path so Maddox could have some growth. What I really liked about Maddox was that he took what could have been a very negative situation and applied a really positive attitude to it so he could thrive going forward (I'm dancing around my wording a bit because there is a really good subplot that I don't want to give away). I enjoyed the characters from previous installments making appearances.

I kind of wanted Harper to scream at Maddox a few times. Once he knew why she wanted to keep them at arm's length but he continued to try to "charm" her, he kind of came off as a sleazeball. Back to that whole subplot, I'm trying to avoid discussing, I don't understand how Maddox got away with what he did since I would think the Boston Brawlers would be mighty irked with him once they learned the whole story. Just saying.

This is a contemporary hockey romance. Both characters are adults and professionals at the top of their chosen fields. This book can be read as a stand-alone although I recommend the whole series. (Yeah, I'm a fangirl and I won't appologize for it.)

“He Has Charm” is part of the ‘Boston Brawlers’ series of hockey romances by author Stephanie Queen. Although it’s part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone. This is a forbidden romance, forced proximity, slow burn story with great dialogue and plenty of entertaining situations. It also delivers some surprising deep emotional impact.

Maddox doesn’t do relationships, although he values and respects women. Believe me, he has reasons for his complete avoidance of a committed relationship. When members of his hockey team give him a birthday surprise that goes terribly wrong, the resulting video of the escapade get him quickly traded. A junior agent he doesn’t know, representing his sports agent, informs him of the trade and gives him paperwork to sign. Harper then informs him that she’s going to be his watchdog, babysitter, and “handler”, tasked with keeping him out of trouble until the end of the season. No drinking, no partying, and no women! Despite his shock over everything that’s happened, Maddox is a good sport about it all. Harper is determined to do what she needs to do to impress her boss and earn the much-needed bonus she’s been promised if she can get the charming hockey player to the end of the season without any problems. The biggest problem? The mutual attraction between Maddox and Harper is so strong it practically lights up the air between them but acting on it would get them both fired

Both lead characters are immediately appealing. After immediately finding out about the video that gets Maddox extradited, I couldn’t imagine how the author would make him redeemable enough to deserve a happy conclusion to his story. Well, I shouldn’t have doubted the skills of Stephanie Queen. Details of the backstories for both Maddox and Harper are revealed at an excellent pace to keep the story moving, and continually build interest in them separately and as a potential couple. There are multiple surprises in the plot that I’ve been careful not to reveal because you should discover them for yourself. The ending was nicely done, and left me smiling.

First and foremost anything in this review is a me thing. Anybody else might find they enjoy books with these kinds of things in them.

I had problems with this book. First being the author didn’t match the dialogue with the action of who was speaking most of the time. So, I found myself rereading the page five times to figure out what was going on. Or they’d be on the bed, but then they’d get up and go onto the bed? Like what did I miss? It could use another round of editing for sure.
Secondly, who describes between their legs as a “wet, melting pussy”? Like I lost all respect for Harper at that point and there was no getting it back especially since it was so early in the book.
Thirdly, I thought this book took place in the sixties with Maddox’s need for calling Harper “sugar buns” and “honey” that’s a huge ick factor for me. Maybe that’s romantic for some people but I only see it as a way that men used it as a way to degrade women in the workplace.
The author has high faith in us readers because she only gives full names of characters once and then you are expected to remember who is who. Took me the longest time to realize that it was the team captain who was giving Maddox a hard time not Finn the goalie 😂.
It holds a lot of potential and like I said in the beginning these are me things, so highly recommend for those who don’t have issues with anything mentioned above.
Oh, I should also mention that Harper is also an ex-hockey player. Yup it’s one of those books.
Normally, I love sports romance, bad boy hockey players, forbidden romance. Unfortunately, none of it mashed together to give me the zing I look for in sports romance.

I really enjoyed this book. I've read all of Stephanie Queen's books for the last few years, but this one just struck a chord with me. Harper is hard working. Her eye is on the prize. She wants to be an agent and get the salary and professional prestige that comes with it. She also is working to pay off a family debt.

Maddox is a gorgeous hockey player, on and off the ice. When a pornographic video of him goes viral, he gets a second chance at another team, in another city, and Harper is made his handler. Her boss dangles a big bonus and the promotion to keep Maddox on the straight and narrow.

She is talented and appreciated by her clients, but she doesn't consider herself particularly attractive or desirable. And she knows that Maddox isn't focused on any serious relationship. But he's doing some heavy duty flirting.

This book reminds me of some of the Chicago Stars books by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. A woman who doesn't have the confidence to go after the man of her dreams - never mind that she's focused on keeping her job and his. And he is a natural woman charmer, gorgeous, talented, and an incredible body. Clearly he is out of her league, but he just won't stop flirting with her.

He also is keeping a huge secret from the team and Harper. This book has explicit sex scenes so I recommend it for mature audiences.

I received an advance reader copy from the author. This is my honest review.

Maddox and Harper

I love, love, loved this book. This book just puts a big smile on your face and makes you laugh so much. I love a good sports romance and Stephanie Queen knows exactly how to get and keep you invested. Harper works as a sports agent and she is Maddox Knight's new handler. Anywhere Maddox goes Harper will be right there with him. From their very first encounter Harper and Maddox felt this immense attraction and pull toward each other. But of course their relationship must remain business only. The more time they spend with each other they grow closer and closer. Feelings develop but they have a business relationship what will they do? This book definitely will give you the feels. If you love a good hockey romance book, I would definitely recommend picking this one up.

Arc received for an honest review.

Knight is in serious damage control mode over a little sex video that popped up. Harper has been assigned to be his handler to keep him in line as he is traded to a new team.
She is so uptight, even over some of the smallest things. He is a constant flirt and loves to rile her up. Even though he only wants to flirt with her, it gets borderline mean because she is so nervous that she could lose her job if anything about their relationship looks anything but professional.
They settle into a civil, yet sexual charged, working relationship but have to constantly dodge the rumors of them being more than professionally linked.
There are some goofy situations and reactions to said situations that you have to suspend disbelief for a bit. There were also continuity issues that irked me.
The story overall wavered between "just okay" and "good" most of the time for me.

Like the title says, Maddox Knight truly has charm but can it work on everyone? He gets himself in trouble with a viral video and gets traded to the Boston Brawlers. With that, he is assigned a handler and that ends up being Harper. Can she become someone to get him out of his troubles.

Lots of ups and downs and you get to know the characters well. Can Harper keep Maddox under control or does he have more things going on that she cannot handle?

This was a great story to read….I think my favorite of the series. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Number five in the Boston Brawlers Hockey series. There are only a few people who know why Maddox lives life hard, like there’s no tomorrow. Life has just caught up to Maddox, and he’s been traded to the Boston Brawlers. Harper is now his handler and 24/7 guard. They both have a lot riding on playing by the rules. The story started interesting, but I quickly started skimming. I didn’t connect with either Maddox or Harper. It wasn’t until halfway through the book that things began to gel. I’m glad I stuck with this one. The second half is much better than the first half!

I have read a lot of Stephanie’s books and they are all good. This one was awesome. I have read this series and they just get better and better. This one is Maddox and Harper’s story. He being the NHL porn star and her being his handler trying to recover his career with his new team, the Boston Brawlers. He is a confirmed bachelor and she is struggling with her attraction to him. She has a no fraternizing with the client and he has a secret health issue. They both are attracted to one another and find it hard to resist each other. But in the end there is a HEA.

Sweet! Sassy! Emotional!

Although I really enjoyed Maddox and Harper's journey, the first 30 pages were filled with so many unnecessary details that I almost DNF.

Give the readers what we need to infer the conflict, strength and weaknesses of the characters, the setting and we can pretty much fill in the rest. Of course, shocking twists, turns and surprises are always welcome!

Love...

Love, love this story. There may have been a tear or two in my eyes with this one. They loved so quickly, even though they wouldn't admit it. They tried to not act but it didn't work out so well. They are the perfect couple.

I wanted to like this more. It wasn't terrible, but it was over the top at times when it came to the leads wanting each other just based off of how hot they both were. It got to be annoying with how much they were attracted to one another, but "can't act on it"
Can't say I'm really interested in reading about the other characters on the team to delve further into this series right now.
