my fav in the series so far! Cole is losing control of his powers/wrecking shit & i’m not complaining. i love all the side characters just as much as the main two & im constantly thrown off by the plot twists in the best way. i just KNOW the dragons are gonna aid the characters on their plot for revenge and i cannot wait to see it 🔥

First off Orion has become an asshole I can not live without 😂 I just think he needs props up front!

Davies is an exceptional story teller. This is the second series I have fell in love with she has written. This book is a builder to book 5 (the one where we will see if fate can be defeated).

We see every major player finally all in one place. Lexi becomes almost her complete self (all I can say without spoiler issues). Cole falls further into his destiny as the Shadow Reaver (not good). The crones choose a side. A dragon has their first POV dictated to the reader (LOVED). The dragon finally comes face to face with Lexi, only briefly, but enough to know there is about to be an explosive change of dynamics.

If you can not tell I loved it. The set up for the final battle is amazing! I can not wait to get my hands on it!

Happy reading,
DD 🥂

I'm unsure what I can say about this without giving away things. I will say that we get one of the dragon's POV and I had to actually go back to the beginning of the chapter to reread because I was like, wait, who is this talking? It was great! So much information in that short little chapter.

Lexi continues to grow and is trying to learn her powers. Cole is getting more powerful. Things start to go down in this one. And of course the end makes you want to immediately start the next book. I really am loving this series.

This isn't my favorite series by her but I'm still enjoying how it's turning out. I'm pulled into the story overall, but my issues are with the transitions from one book to the next. While I'm glad it doesn't do an overkill of re-explaining between books, I don't feel like there is enough, waiting for the new books to be released I forget some of the details. Then it just immediately jumps into the action in the next book, which is page turning but also doesn't feel like a great break in the story... like these all could have been one big book rather than being forced broken down into smaller ones. It just doesn't flow real well between books.

The story itself is really good and I like the characters. I love anything dragon related so am getting more excited that they are becoming a bigger part of this series. And I like how the characters are developing and changing.

"Crone."
"So...you're an old witch."
"That I am. Which also means I'm more powerful."
"I have no doubt, but then, I'm an old lycan."
"Maybe she can teach you some new tricks," Orin suggested and laughed.

My god, Orin is hilarious! He is just epic asshole and you want to unlike him so much , but damn, it’s so hard! Love him!

This book dragged itty-bitty , but it was needed. Best books have always that one book what lulls a bit.

Still loving F out of this series!

This book is 100% consistent.
All books before this have been 4 star listen this one is no different 3.5/4 star listen.

Finally the war has started.
Our mmc is going dark and our fmc is becoming more powerful.

All side characters and main ones are fabulous, I love the world building. Recommend this series. Great dark fantasy.

Wow, What a book. There is so much going on. This book I am going to call growth. Everyone is finding out where they fit into this "New world". I think that Lexi has a fight she doesn't even know she has. She is training every wakening moment. I think Cole has secrets that need to be worked out. Thier love is growing so much. I hope Thay can move on up to the good things they want with the next book.

We get some new side stories and people. Yall be papered. You going to love some. You're even going to grow to love one or two of the old characters. Not telling you what they did. There is just a few surprises you are going to think about after the book finishes.

All in all, good book. I am not going to lie. It took a minute to get this book rolling. Not that it was bad. It just was a LOT of information to take in. Once it gets going it is great and I couldn't put down.

While the book gets off to a bit of a slow start, by the time you get to the end, you are ready for book 5!

This book starts as a filler book with lots of important character growth and building but ends in a page turning flurry that leaves you eager for more!

I finished in one day because you can't put it down!

This series has been entertaining and jaw dropping, but this book read like a filler episode of a TV series. Besides the ballroom scene (which is arguably one of the best scenes in this series so far, imo), there isn’t a whole lot that happened in this book.

Cole is also becoming less and less likable (I get the Lycan angle but the whole “touch her and you die” narrative is both repetitive and really stunting Lexi’s progress as a main character). She’s grown a lot as a character but I would love for her to have some agency without any of the main characters stopping her for this reason or that one.

I personally love the crew of side characters, and enjoy their stories being unraveled as the books go on.

A lot of the dialogue can be done away with - so much of it is repetitive “I will, no you won’t, yes will, no you won’t” so on and so on. Moreover the constant reminder of what’s already happened in the book is not necessary - the constant recaps is what drags the story on more than anything else.

I will be reading on (mainly because I really would love to read Sahira and Orin’s story), but this book was not my favorite.

I really like this series, but the phrasing can be a bit repetitive, but it’s okay because I really like where this is all going.

But Cole and his overprotectiveness are seriously getting on my nerves.
At some points it’s just him out right disregarding Lexi and her opinions especially when it comes to his shadows.
Like, yeah okay she’s your mate and you want to keep her safe, but seriously, all he’s doing sometimes is standing in her way of growth. It makes you feel like he doesn’t even trust her to do anything by herself.

There’s a difference between supporting and caring for a loved one and this overprotective coddling that Cole’s been doing these last few chapters (I’ve already started Part 5 and it doesn’t get any better🙄).
I’ll still keep on reading this series because I really like Lexi and the Story of the Shadow Realm, but every time Cole speaks or does something my blood pressure just skyrockets (not even Oren can do that ;P ).

I like this story but it isn't like, top 10, but worth the read.
I am starting to get sick of Cole and him not listening to lexi. "I'll do whatever is necessary to keep you safe". Okay Cole, we get it, but she told you to STOP. Lol.
Like bro, chill.
But it's still a cute story. I listen while I'm working. I for sure wanna see how the story plays out but if I was reading and spending my precious relax time that is almost non existent, I'd probably stop reading and want to read something better.

This is one of those series that you won't be able to help but fall in love with

Shadows of fury is the fourth book in the Shadow Realms series and must be read after the previous three.

This book. Just wow. My heart has been so touched, so broken, so elevated by the beautiful story it holds. It’s immersive, it’s meaningful, it’s passionate. It’s unique, transfixing, poignant and emotionally resonant. Cole and Lexi have captured my heart and soul - their extraordinary story is once in a lifetime.

It took me a little longer to get into this book, but I did end up loving it just as much as the rest of the series.

I love Davies writing style. I can always count on connecting with her characters. They always feel so real to me and leave me wondering what they are up to when I'm done reading …

A gorgeous Lycan/ Dark Fae King who’s sweet and sexy? Let me order a double. Cole has owned my heart since Shadows of Discovery and kept it locked away; ruining me for all other book boyfriends. I will always love him and he will always be one of my favourite characters ever! It was annoying that so many people doubted him at the beginning.

To say I hate that it’s over is an understatement: even though I couldn’t get enough, I wanted to slow down so I could savor every moment. Shadows of Fury is such a phenomenal and powerful book! Heartfelt and thought provoking!

*Spoiler* This book does have triggering content such as violence, death and sexual harassment.

As Cole grows stronger with the shadows, he is now scaring Lexi and his other loved ones. Lexi worries that she is going to lose him to them and she might be right. The more Cole uses them to protect Lexi the more they try to take over. The Lord has pushed them both over the edge as he invites them to Dragonia for their engagement party. The Lord pushed Cole and Lexi to show there cards and boy did they both. When the Lord made Lexi dance with Malakai that was the end of Coles control and it was a brutal end to Malakai as well. Now that the Lord has seen everything and knows what Lexi is, he will not stop until he has her in his grasps. He is so crazy he still believes he will win this battle. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time with this book, because I have grown to love both Lexi and Cole. Cole did scare the hell out of me in this read and it was like I was living in Lexi’s turmoil with the what ifs. Cole is getting more brutal when the shadows takes over and he is enjoying it until Lexi brings him back. Will she be able to bring him back fully? I hope so, but it doesn’t look promising the more he uses them. His love for keeping Lexi safe shows by calling on the shadows, but it is costing Cole his soul in doing so. With Lexi getting stronger and learning her powers, I hope it is enough to to bring Cole back to her and take the shadows away or at least keep them from taking him over!

As usual, author Brenda K. Davies knocks it out of the park! I highly recommend this series. You can never go wrong with storylines that include love, sex, magic, secrets, adventure, danger, fairies, vampires, and DRAGONS! Yes, you heard right, dragons! For anyone who has not started this series it is a must if you love reading books with those things and more! I love how the author has brought together a mix of many different types of paranormal entities all in the same story.

This is the 4th book in the series and each book just draws me in deeper. Character development is awesome. I love watching Lexi and Cole together as their love and their powers both grow. They need to work together with family and allies in order to stop Lord Malaki and save the realms. Loyalty is a must if they want to take him down, but is someone in their inner circle a traitor? And don't get me started on Orin! He's just a miserable person.....or is he??

In this book we get to see some familiar characters (some that we love and some that we love to hate!) as well as a few new character introductions while at a party in Dragonia.

Ms. Davies’ imagination is amazing! She has such a gift at telling stories in such vivid details that you can picture every person and place in your head as if you are there. Don’t miss out on this series!

I didn't love this one as much as the last, I don't think.

The war is here, and I love the action that takes place in this book. It was so fun seeing our characters growing into their power, and I am loving Lexi turning into such a badass. The fighting is so well written, I don't find myself getting bored or skimming it, and it doesn't last 15 chapters, which is something I appreciate.

I love the supporting characters, and I want more of the supporting characters. I want them to be less supporting characters and more front and center. The characters are really well developed, and all have great personalities. They shine so brightly in this series, so I wish that we didn't spend quite so much time focused on Lexi and Cole. I know the books are really about THEM, but here's my issue.

Cole has turned into this possessive dick, can't control himself around other males near his mate, and I. Forking. Hate. That. So much. It's a wolf thing, yeah, yeah, blah, blah, blah. I still hate it. So much of this book surrounded Lexi and Cole's relationship, and I struggled because I'm not feeling their relationship at this point.

The plot is great. Hands down, I love the story, and overall, that's truly what has me hooked.

Well, we are now at the 4th book in the series and things are definitely becoming complicated. The relationship between Cole and Lexi is obviously strong and their bond is wonderful to see. Lexi is beginning to understand that it is going to be up to her to keep the dark from completely taking over Cole....piece of cake, right?

Things have gotten to a breaking point with the Lord of the Realms, he has been pushed as far as he will go. And their core group of friends has grown as well. Again, as I mentioned before, the secondary characters in this series are all strong characters. They each have an individual voice and they are each clearly differentiated on the page.

Unfortunately, I have gotten to the end of the released books. The next book is not scheduled to come out for a couple of months so I was definitely NOT pleased to find that out. But, I am extremely invested in this series, so when it does come out, I will not hesitate to push "Buy".

This is a wonderful series that I am very happy to have found. The action is heating up, the drama is beyond measure and the romance is heartwarming. That is a fantastic trifecta :)

Can’t wait for the next book!

As soon as you begin reading you are hooked into the world that is written. Brenda had a unique ability of making the reader feel part of the book and story when you find yourself finishing chapters without any notice until your at the end. It is this quality that makes myself value her novels.

Lexi and Cole’s relationship continues to be strong with excitements around each page to get your heart pumping and anxiously turning pages to find out what’s next! The setting flows off the page engraving into your imagination allowing you to actually visual everything that is happening at the moment. Characters shout out their personalities making you either loving, liking or hating them!

Thank you Brenda K Davies for yet a nothing exciting read, your amazing talent in painting a world with words, loveable characters and tantalising plots! I will always be a fan! Please continue to share your amazing worlds with all of your readers! I seriously can not wait for the next one 😍

I love this series so much. It's been a page-turner since book one. Cole and Lexi have a powerful connection that has grown with all obstacles they faced together.

Cole is always looking for ways to make Lexi feel comfortable and safe. He is a dominant, powerful king with a sweet romantic heart for his queen. He makes sure to give her a space where she can feel their love and enjoy the moment.

Lexi can charm you with her loving nature. She's constantly training to get better to help defend her loved ones. She stands up for her family and friend and never allows anyone to hurt them. She loves with all her heart.

Lexi understands and accepts Cole. She gives him everything he needs, and she knows his heart and loves him completely. It's an eternal connection that helps them face the world together.

I love the captivating, charismatic characters that will have you laughing and keep you entertained throughout the story. Each story is an action pack full of twists and turns that will have you wanting more. I love this series and can't wait for the next story.

Shadows of Fury is a must read but you really need to begin with the first volume, Shadows of Fire.
Somewhere I read, Brenda K. Davies got some of her inspiration from her dreams. Well, with dreams like hers, I sure wouldn't want one of her nightmares. All kidding aside, I never thought this type of read was for me. Boy was I wrong! I'm hooked! Brenda K. Davies never disappoints.
In Shadows of Fury, Lexi and Cole's love is tested constantly, as they rely on each other to survive and keep those they care about safe. Danger lurks everywhere with dragons spewing fire, a lunatic Lord of the Realms, a vindictive vampire, Fae, Lycan, witches and more.
You can't trust anyone.
This series is so exciting that you can't help but lose yourself in the story. You'll root for Lexi and Cole to rise above all the obstacles in the way of their love and happiness. A definite must read! Can't wait for the finale!

Extremely satisfying

I have devoured every book in the Shadow Realms series by Brenda K. Davies. My husband says that every time she releases a book, he loses me for a couple of days.
I gave this book a 5 star rating because there were certain developments in the story that I felt were extremely satisfying. Chapters 57 and 60. I won't give any spoilers but these were my 2 favorite chapters. Also, I feel that we received a lot of information in this book. While there was still plenty of action, it also provided more insight and depth to the characters and the entire storyline. For instance, we find out why Kaylia hates vampires.
Once again Brenda K. Davies leaves me anxiously anticipating what happens next. Her ability to tell an action filled, romantic fantasy leaves me hanging on every word.

I kinda want this story to be written by someone else, because I like the plot (this was easily my favorite book in the series so far), but the writing puts a damper on it.

Besides the constant rehashing of the story (with how short those books are and how little is actually happening, it’s really not necessary), I just can’t with that inner monologue anymore.

Those characters constantly stop the plot to either bring up some random memories relevant to absolutely nothing at all or to explain their thought process step by step, as if a reader was a little child unable to connect even the simplest dots. Ugh.

I will keep reading, because I wanna see this story unravel and I’m starting to enjoy all those side characters’ dynamics, but I probably won’t come back to this author after this series.

Omg this story! I am on the edge here. There are dragons, a traitor, The lord, Malakai, an invitation to Dragonia, shadows, an arach and of course Orin—who I want to punch. I don’t know which is worse. Lexi and Cole are becoming more powerful and trying to keep it all under wraps while navigating their future and the realms and trying to take down the lord. Which is all proving to be a Challenge. I love this group and their growing circle . To be honest I need to know what’s up with Orin. Do we trust him??? I’m trying to breathe my way through this. I cannot say enough what an amazing world and storytelling this is. I am so captivated to read what’s happening next that’s it’s hard to put the book down. Now I’ll be holding on for dear life until the next book.

PHENOMENAL ADDITION TO THE SERIES

I couldn’t wait to dive into this book.
Brenda has done it again.

Lexi and Cole are faced with so much more than what they imagined. They need to figure out how to draw out and control Lexi’s powers. They need to keep the Lord thinking the rebellion has lost it’s two key men.
They are finally getting somewhere with Lexi when an invitation comes and they can not refuse.
The Lord is hosting a ball in their honour. Can Lexi keep it together? Can Cole keep the shadows hidden?
Read this amazing instalment to find out.
I highly recommend this book but do think it’s best to start at the beginning of the series.
I CAN NOW WAIT FOR THE NEXT INSTALMENT

Reading Cole & Lexi’s story is just getting better and better. The loyalty between them and their loved ones and friends in amazing. Finding out more about them and their powers and struggles. Keeps me wanting to read more and more. I can picture the Dragons, pixies, crones, Fae, vampires. The different realms I can see it in my head like a movie playing. A story that I don’t want to end but I can’t wait for the outcome either. I love this author and her imagination that she brings to life. Cole & Lexi’s story is a must read and if you like romance, friendship, loyalty in the unexpected places this is a great series to read. The characters and the different species and different realms really bring it all together in a fantasy world.
