Midpoints: Identify & Integrate Midpoints Into Horoscope Synthesis

Rate this book
Midpoints add nuance, detail, and depth to your astrological interpretations. Yet some astrologers shy away from this valuable analysis, perhaps daunted by the sheer volume of measurements involved. Don McBroom offers an easy approach to midpoints for professionals and individuals. You'll learn how to single out the most significant midpoint pictures and interpret them. McBroom explores many focal points-including the Sun/Moon midpoint, which defines core values. Midpoint significance is illuminated in examples based on the birth charts of Walt Disney, Meryl Streep, Thomas Edison, Steven Spielberg, Janis Joplin, and many other historical and contemporary icons. By integrating these dynamic planetary relationships into your natal chart analysis, you'll uncover exciting characteristics that will enrich your overall interpretation.

This is a pedestrian book with little new insight. I give 2 stars because the writing is clear and the author makes a genuine effort to present what he knows as cleanly and simply as possible. But, like many other astrology books, it repeats what has been said a hundred times in other places.

The other problem I see with this book is it is too dry. I think the author went for a "pragmatic" approach to discussing the midpoints and in doing so sacrificed much of the soul and magic inherent in the myriad ways in which midpoints can manifest. Worst of all, there is no mention of the best book on midpoints, "Working With Astrology" by Harvey and Harding. Five of the best pages of the latter (and there are many many best pages in this gem) is equal to 100 pages of McBroom's book.
