Welcome to Fate Hollow Academy, a place where supernaturals come together to train for war on humans.
Humans and dragons alike had declared war in Kalista.
Every supernatural must stand and fight, but would it be unified or did the dragon cult hold their allegiance?
Humans have been experimenting on their own, creating something more mechanical than human. Dragons have been making alliances with other supernaturals under the guise of fighting our mutual enemy, but their agenda was darker than that.
All I wanted was to hide away with my mates, wrapped in the love we shared. It was a fantasy I desperately yearned for, but with every turn, a new enemy revealed themself.
Fate Hollow Academy Term 2 is book two of four in the Fate Hollow Academy Series. It is a paranormal why-choose romance with all characters over the age of twenty-one. It contains mature subject matter that may not be suitable for all readers.
Lyra Winters is a twenty-something Kentucky woman who adores the book world. When she's not typing away on her laptop or daydreaming book ideas, Lyra is occupying her time taking care of her two spunky daughters and dreamy husband. She's addicted to Coca-Cola, 2000's rap music, and bubble baths. Her dream is to write love stories that touch the reader's hearts. Visit her website at https://www.lyrawinters.com/
I swear to god, I’m only reading this because the plot and the world is actually interesting + the male leads are well written. Everything about them, their stories, personalities, character development etc is perfect. They are all so different and unique. I really love them.
But the female lead ?? I’m so done with her. She pissed me off in the first book, but I thought she would get stronger and would stop being so annoying as she bonds with her mates and she discovers her powers but NO !! She is even worse, keeps getting mad because she is weak but does nothing to get stronger. Keeps being offended that her mates don’t trust her for protecting herself when she clearly can’t.
She got an awesome power and she only uses it to hide while her mates fight!! Fuck this she better learn how to fight and stop being such a crybaby or I might not finish this series, even tho I fucking love the male leads and the plot with the war with the humans and the dragons.
I like the story and I like the plot, but she has too many mates. I’m so glad they didn’t add even more.
Literally 90% of the time she’s with Damien, 5% of the time she’s with thorn, 2% of the time she’s with Rowan. The other 4 get to split that final 3% of her time lol.
The author isn’t managing the relationships equally. The men don’t seem to care, but I do. A reverse harem required balance which this does not have. Would have been better off with just Damien and Thorn as mates and axing the others tbh. However, I’m going to keep reading bc I do enjoy the plot. But again, if she adds more mates I’m done.
Also - it’s super annoying that 24/7 everybody wants to f her bc she’s so tiny and petite and gorgeous and blah blah blah. It gives such cringe “I’m a sm0l b3an tehe” pick me vibes. Except it’s not her who says that stuff it’s everybody else turning her into that in my head? Plus it makes no sense that if she was perfect and gorgeous and everything everyone wanted when she was in that other village they all shunned her. Like nah, y’all would’ve done terrible shit like you’re trying to do now that she has left the village.
⭐️Brief Summary: We start where we left off with War being declared between dragons, supernaturals and humans. Wren is mated with 3 of her men and a few weeks have pasted since the end on book 1.
🌟 Overall Opinion:
-Wren is having trouble controlling her shadow mark and it’s always hurting other or causing mischief 😈
-Rowan has a lot of pressure in him with the war and the dragon cult but Wren is his relief and she calms him 💕 love this.
-Wren goes with Rhett and Damien to Demon Capital to ask for an alliance but secrets are uncovered. While visiting his parents Damian tells Wren about his traumatic past🥺. Awww can I love Damian anymore💗he my absolute favorite. And I don’t care if people think the author favors him cause I do and I can’t get enough of him.
-Wren goes with Lachlan and Kian to there villiages to see if they can gain support for the war. This was my least fav part. I hate to say it but Lachlan is boring to me. But I do love me some Kian and it was cool to see how twisted the necromancers are.
-Rhett has along time stalker, two in fact, who are working together and have zoned in on Wren.
-I still love ❤️ Damian the most cause he just so intense and obsessed with her. Rowan and Rhett would be my next favs. We didn’t get a lot of Alister just some in the beginning and end but most of the book he was MIA😢.
-Oh come on!!!!!! Really! Ok so Kian and Wrens mate bond snapped into place and they marked each other but NO sex😳… what a freaking way to screw us and let the author drag out his virginity longer 😤
-We finally get a hot as hell mating with Alister 🌶️🩸🔥.
-Wren goes with Thorn to the Ice Kingdom to keep her safe from the dragons. To be honest I’m not a fan of his anymore. 😳The ice kingdom feels like Thorns secret second life. He’s didn’t tell her that her had a brother or about his life there at all and they have been best friends since 6ys old. Then he loves her so much his whole life but wasn’t a virgin! Ugh can’t get past it 🤷🏼♀️.
-We find out just how twisted Fallon is and what she’s really up to. We also find out what Nate’s been up to.
-Grayson 🤢🤬 ugh he’s nasty and full on obsessed with Wren now. Can’t wait for his comeuppance!
-There is a battle at the end but it’s still only the beginning or the war.
-I hate to say it but Wren isn’t just a damsel in distress she a Snowflake ❄️…. Yeah I said it. I hope she gets a bit strong both mentally and physically. I love the harem and they protect her a lot and I find that they balance out her weakness. I get the trauma of her past but she was 5yrs old and now she is 22ys old and she needs to deal with it and become stronger already! The harem is everything 💕 they are the best part of the whole series. -We finally find out her power…. Let’s just hope she actually does something with it😅.
-No MM which I really 🙏🏻 appreciated. It’s not for me and it’s getting hard to find RH without it. -NO OW and I LOVE this cause I’m academy reads that’s rare ♥️💕💜.
-Poor sweet Callie😢
-🤮The dragon cult is sick 🤢
-I like how the humans are the bad ones 😂🤷🏼♀️ it’s just a different twist in the PNR world and I’m liking it.

🤔 Closing Summery: Overall I’m still really enjoying this series. I love the harem and honestly I love how big of a part they are to the story. I think Wren needs some growth in the next book. The plot is thinking and I’m excited to see where this goes. On to book 3!

4.6 stars. So…I loved how everything is going to shit, and Wren gets bangs in the middle of it all. It just felt, right.🫢😂
A Lot of tragic things went down in this book. But also some really sweet things happened. I’m still not sure how things are gonna play out with certain mysteries…but I have ideas. And I’m still excited to see if I’m right. So, a win all around.
I became addicted to this series after reading Term 1. I mean seven...YES SEVEN...mates that consist of a shadow demon, firedrake, ice fae prince, necromancer, incubus, werewolf and vampire? How could Lyra Winters go wrong? Plus I thought I liked the first book but this one got so much better. We got to learn so much more about the guys as well as visit home for a couple of them. And shy Wren is really coming into her own.
This may be the most obvious opinion ever but Damien is life 🖤 I was obsessed with him in the first book and even more so in Term 2.
“From pain comes strength. From the small taste I’ve had, yours is delicious.”
“Listen, if you need me to maim anyone, I’d be happy to. And just so you know, if anyone so much as breathes in your direction without your permission, I’ll torture and kill them. My parents are vengeance demons, so I know all sorts of creative ways to make someone hurt.” A giggle escaped my lips as a feeling swept through me. Nobody had ever cared enough to hurt or kill for me before. “Thanks, Damien. I appreciate that.”
In Term 2 the threats really come into focus...well more like crashing down... on the group. So while its time to go to war there is still plenty of the fun and even spicier moments that we loved in Term 1.
*I received an ARC from the author, this review is my own honest opinion.
So I did not enjoy this one as much as the first one. I really expected there to be more character growth in our female lead but there really wasn’t.
Again, not a lot of action played out in this book, which was disappointing.
Also, the female lead spends almost all her time with 2 of the males that already got a LOT of book time in the previous book that I don’t even know why the author even bothered with the other 5 mates. Not saying she doesn’t spend time with the others, but it’s very heavy-handed in one direction.
The biggest turn off for me what the amount of crying everyone did. And I mean EVERYONE. 2 of the male mates cried because Wren wanted to go off with 2 other mates to see their villages. Then Wren would cry because they were telling her what to do. Like seriously, I’m all for crying by males & females alike but where the author had it happen was ridiculous and not cry-worthy unless you’re like 5.
Writing overall was a little more childish that in the first book (may have felt that way because we saw no character growth) but grammatically well written so thankfully none of that to distract from what you are reading.
Overall, not my favorite, but I did like it enough that I am willing to continue with the series.
Wow… this was just so bad… I gave the first book a 3 ⭐️ because I thought it had potential, and I’ve come to realize I was very wrong.
My momma always told me “if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all”, but I’ve never been good at listening, so here it goes:
1- The FMC was truly the WORST FMC I’ve ever read about, and I’ve read over 650 books in my life… She was weak and whiny the WHOLE time! I can understand her being scared/timid at first with everything she went through and being isolated from the rest of the world, but COME ON! Can we get a little character development? She stayed terrified for 2 whole books, with zero skills and zero usefulness. She gets a shadow limb that she basically only uses during sex wit Damien, she gets a cool power and uses it to HIDE and she has the audacity to tell her mates that’s she’s “dangerous” when she’s in her arctic fox form whenever they say she looks cute that way… I think my eyes are permanently stuck in the back of my head from rolling my eyes from the amount of times that was said.
2- Way too many mates. Don’t get me wrong, when done correctly, the more the better! But in this case, half of her mates just felt like side characters. I hate the she formed a bond with all of them before they became mates, and yet she ends up mating with Rowan first? Who she had never even met before? wtf? And I loved Damien, but this just felt like the Damien show… Thorn, who was her best friend all her life, was essentially non existent the whole first book and played small roles in the second..
She bonded with Kian and still didn’t sleep with him, even though she was intimate with all her other mates. The thing I love about why choose romances and what makes them work, is that the FMC always loves them equally, but in this series, she always feels like she had her favourites even though she denies it. Poor Lachlan was also just skimmed over.
I also didn’t like that it was an already a known fact that they were all her mates right away even though the mate bond didn’t snap into place yet. It takes the whole suspense out of it. As readers, we’re obviously gonna figure out who’s going to end up being her mates based on interactions, etc. But half the fun is seeing them wonder and worry and hope! But instead, she gets her first mate and we find out that if she’s still attracted to them, then they will become her mates.. wtf? So even though it takes time for the rest, they just know right away and just have to worry about when.. how very boring 🥱 it was a missed opportunity.
3- The villains. All the villains made no sense! Or at least why they were allowed to live. Her mates, especially Damien and Thorn, showed how quickly they would kill anyone who said anything or even thought anything that could harm her, and yet they let Grayson live at the beginning of the series before her ever threatened Alice? And Fallon? She sexually harassed half the staff and students, yet she was given a YEAR before she had to leave from being fired? Even after the things she said about Wren? And Nate?! wtf?! He threatened her so many fkn times and they even caught him talking to his family through the flames and plotting against her and he just gets to live? But yet they killed two guys who pictured sleeping with her? What the actual f is this? And the humans who were supposed to be weak are the big bad villains in this story?! This just felt like it was written by a teenager writing a WATTPAD story and not in a fun was we all remember.
4- I disliked or was indifferent to almost all the MMCs…
- Rowan has anger issues and treats her like a child… which I kinda don’t blame him for all things considered, but it doesn’t make for a good love interest. And the fact that their relationship came out of nowhere just never made me get attached to him.
- Thorn was boring and jealous until he got what he wanted and I never really ended up liking him. He was not very present in the first book, which probably didn’t help, but he still didn’t grow on me.
- Kian felt like a 12 year old boy which was just weird. He’s awkward, sky, so self conscious and didn’t change at all throughout the first 2 books. It’s ok to have a more shy character with no experience, but this was just ridiculous. There was no chemistry between the two and they didn’t even get intimate after the mate bond snapped into place! He felt more like a friend than anything else.
- Lachlan was friendzoned, or at least that’s what it felt like. I actually liked him, but he was given very little time with the FMC since the beginning of the series and he remains one of the last 2 that didn’t fully get mated to her. I hate how these guys constantly get made to feel left out the whole time while everyone else is getting close to eachother and screwing eachother in front of them while the just sit there in pain and self doubt… it was honestly uncomfortable to read and I just felt bad.
- Alister was ok. I liked him but there was nothing special about him.
- Rhett could have been my favourite if he had been given more page time. Like Lachlan, he still hasn’t been mated fully, but unlike Lachlan, she actually slept with him and has been intimate with him, which just shows more favouritism. Otherwise, I actually liked him.
- Damien. He seems to be everyone’s favourite and it makes sense, because he’s obviously her favourite too! And when I say “her” I mean both the FMC and the author. Damien was EVERYWHERE all the time! She had way more time with him than she did with any of her other mates/potential mates. He’s funny and a golden retriever psychopath, which is totally my thing, but he also got really annoying and overstepped too many times. I get that he followed her around with his shadows to keep her safe and because he was obsessed with her, but I hate that he constantly intruded on her moments with her other mates. Group activities were fun and it was ok that he was there, but he constantly showed up when she was just having some alone time with each of the other guys!
Also, I’m all for seeming a softer side of an MMC and seeing them shed some tears for the FMC or about a traumatic past, but I’ve never seen so much crying coming from ALL of the love interests. They would literally break down crying every few chapters, and not just one or two or them, but all SEVEN! It just felt forced and unrealistic with their characters honestly. It fit with Kian’s character so that wasn’t a shock, and it made sense with how traumatic Rhett’s past was or even Damien’s when it’s revealed what happened, but it was wayyy overdone and it lost all significance. I felt horrible that all I did was roll my eyes after a while because everyone was crying no stop for the simplest things 🙄
*Special mention: please stop saying “nub”… I don’t know how many times I cringed at reading that! It’s an Adult fantasy and we can’t say clit? She’s having wild group sex but that’s where we decide to be demure?
I hate not finishing series because I need to feel closure, but I don’t think I’m going to continue. I literally said “I hate this book” every time I opened my kindle, so I think that’s a sign for me to move on 😅
One problem with a big harem is that multiple POVs can cause slow plot development and this author wasn't skilled enough to handle that challenge well.
The FMC is weak and continues to be weak in this book. She has absolutely no goal to find her special ability and develop more skills to protect herself now that they have a lot of enemies and there's a war brewing.
At the point where I stopped reading, she's insisting on going with Kian and Lachlan to their respective villages just to prove that she's no longer letting anyone make decisions for her and she can do what she wants etc etc.
That's all well and fine but with the danger they are currently facing, why can't she realize that she's a liability to her mates if she goes with them because they will be spending a lot of effort to keep an eye on her instead of focusing on what they need to do at their village which is to convince the leaders to join their side. Not to mention, the necromancer village isn't safe even for Kian. She keeps on telling her bonded that they'll know when she needs them through the bond but there's still a possibility they will be a few seconds too late if something happens.
She needs someone to give her some real talk but none of her mates could dish that because they're all coddling her. In all honesty, she doesn't deserve as many mates as she has.
She also doesn't spend equal time with all her mates. In the first book, she had almost all but forgotten about Thorn before they bonded because she was spending a lot of time with the "new" guys. In this book, it was Kian mostly.
Another thing, this author clearly doesn't know enough about foreplay because most of the sex scenes were just straight penetration.
This was a huge waste of my time and I truly do not recommend it unless you're okay with losing a few brain cells reading this series.
I loved book one in this series. Book two, though? Disappointing. The FMC went from sweet, innocent, and adorable in the first book to naive, headstrong, and stupid in this book.
Wren has absolutely zero offensive abilities. She can’t fight and she is physically weak. She freezes in fear if someone even speaks to her harshly. Her fox form hasn’t grown since she was four, so she’s tiny and fragile… and yet she keeps insisting on throwing herself into a literal war. Why? She keeps endangering herself and everyone else around her, all because of her pride and stubbornness. She’s become the textbook definition of a TSTL (too stupid to live) heroine. It’s disheartening.
🔥 Now, about the spice: There are nine sex scenes in book two—not even counting the spicy scenes without penetration! And honestly? I feel a little bad for Wren. 90% of the time, her guys don’t prep her before they just shove it in—including in the 🍩 backdoor! Not gonna lie, the spice could’ve been written way better.
Anyway, I’m going to keep reading and hope the series pulls itself out of this downward spiral. 🤞

Book Details & Ratings
📚 Completed Series 👀 POV: Multiple First-Person 📖 Genre: Fantasy Romance ❣️ Romance Type> Reverse Harem 🎱 Tropes: Fated Mates • Mutually Rejected Mate Bond • Academy • Royalty • Student/Teacher • Demons • Shifters • Fae • Vampires • Obsessive/Protective • Psychotic MMC • War Themes • Magic
She’s still unable to fight without causing distraction. She just uses her power to turn redacted and wait it out and honestly? Love that for her bc as much as I like to boast I too would freeze in the face of war and carnage in front of me.
I received this book for free as an ARC but my opinions and rating are my own.
Up first the basics - this book is well written and edited. The plot is well thought out, and like all good cliff hangers while the book leaves you throwing your kindle against the wall because it’s over it doesn’t leave you feeling like the author got bored and just decided to stop writing.
Lyra writes characters that are really good at evoking emotions. The ones you hate make you glare at the book and the ones you love make you smile when they show up. There is a new character introduced in this book that I would call a comedic side kick role and he is amazing and I think one of the few character types missing from book one.
If you are a fan of paranormal reverse harems I would highly recommend this book. If you aren’t yet a fan of them well I’d say this series could change your mind.
I am so torn with this book. I love a good RH as much as the next person, but this one was too much. Seven mates is a bit excessive especially since the author doesn't really give each one equal attention. I would say that this book is the Damien, Rowan, and a bit of Thorn show. At the end of this book, she still hasn't mated 2 of the men. I often found myself forgetting who all was in this harem (Kian and Lachlan are utterly forgettable). Then we are often thrown into different perspectives but for no apparent reason. I love a good story from multiple perspectives but there was no rhyme or reason for the constant changing. It was especially bad when we would end up in the mind of one of the unmated males and have to listen to them whine about how they are not mated yet. I get it, it must suck seeing her happy with all of her other mates but the pity party is not endearing and was just annoying to me. With all of that said, I do love the story and I want to see where the author takes it. I have debated whether or not I will continue with the series. Of course, I want to know where the story ends up but at the same time, I don't know how much more of the romance aspect I can take. If the author had given Wren 3 or even 4 mates, I would find the story more enjoyable. She would have been able to give each male depth. When we do get Wren's perspective, she does say that she loves all the men equally but it is really hard to buy with the author's obvious preference for Damien. Like I said, not sure if I will finish the series because I do love the plot, but not sure if I can handle 2 more books of a mediocre romance.

This book was a wild ride. We finally got Damien’s back story and got to meet his family! I love his parents! She has completed bonds with Kian and Alistair. Kian got a familiar in the form of an adorably perverted squirrel names Nightshade. Rhett has 2 stalkers and they have been watching him. A war was declared between humans and supernaturals but also dragons and everyone. Apparently the dragons believe they should share Wren to breed because she is Rowan’s mate. The sirens and necromancers have sided with the dragons. Wren finally went to the ice kingdom and met Thorns brother…that we didn’t know existed. Nate was involved with letting the humans in and the charms to make people hate Wren. Not surprising, Fallon was also involved. Wren got her power!!! I’m guessing it’s either her dad or uncle that are alive. Alice is dead. Grayson was working with Rhett’s stalkers and also the dragons. He can now shift into a dragon but he is messed up and weird. I’m so sad that Callie died. That book was a wild ride and book 3 with be too I’m sure!

Term two has started and Wren and her men have a lot to learn and get ready to fight. She has come far from term one, but is still waiting for her special power. There are still outside forces trying to get to Wren, but her mates and friends are there for her. So many twists and turns. This term will see her grow into herself and get to know her mates better. Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book. I absolutely love these characters.
Ok i can't believed you killed Callie😭 it's not fair. Alright i am getting a bit tired of Wren being a wuss and not fighting back she has a kick ass shadow tendril and wouldn't even use it omg she is such a weak fmc.
2.75 I'm going to start this off by saying that I've seen innocent/weakish characters still written with a backbone, but unfortunately that was not the case in this book.
Maybe I should start off with what I liked and what might get me to continue with the series: 1. The supernatural world Winters has built is really well done. 2. The pacing and writing style kept me interested even though I was rolling my eyes and fuming for half the book.
... Oops ... Back to the good.
3. The male characters are unique and really great for the most part. 4. The premise is pretty good and I want to see where it leads
Now for the annoying: 😤 1. First off, at least 50% of the book was sexy times (mostly with Damian). I like a couple well placed scenes in my books, but this got to be excessive. I found myself rolling my eyes muttering an "again ... really?" 2. The amount of tears. 😭😭🤢 If it wasn't Wren crying it was one of the guys. I mean WTH! Maybe I'm emotionally stunted ... Who knows. 3. I kept waiting to see some emotional/ power growth from Wren, but alas. She complains about not being able to defend herself, but then she does absolutely nothing to try and change this. Like no common sense ... I get that she has a traumatic past, but there has to be a point she stops breaking down at every little thing. 4. Secondary characters were introduced, but then forgotten ... Maybe if Winters cut down on some sex scenes we might have been able to have these side characters mean something.
Recap with SPOILERS: Wren bonds with everyone but Lochlin and Rhett. She visits the demon world, the Necro village, and the werewolf village. Ooo I also think she goes to the fae lands. The dragons have a bounty on Wrens head because they consider her the cults group mate and of course the humans are waging war against the supernatural community. The academy barely escapes with their lives after an attack that claims one of Wren's friends. Wren discovers she can become incorporeal and that her shadow can skewer people. (No she doesn't take advantage of either of these gifts). There is a bunch of inside treachery that leads to the vampire being kidnapped. Etc. Etc. Oh yes, we also see a reappearance of Grayson. He's allowed the dragons to experiment on him and has turned into something dark. Really the book sets up a conflict between the cult dragons and the supernatural community and it was all about who was siding with whom.

Urgh I now feel sorry for her potential mates. It's like they have to have faith to be in with a chance to be a mate. Or you can be Grayson a selfish, ego-driven and power driven who blames you but not himself for his mess type then bullies you type of rejected mate. Luckily Wren's mates, bonded or not are all good to her, they are look-and-die type of guys. They are interesting characters themselves, with background trauma stories of their own, and maybe more stories to come. I said good to her and hers but they're all powerful and will kill, morally grey...well Kiran is just sweet.... oh and Night Shade, that familiar adds a comical element to it all and his antics 🫢
This book was mainly a meet the family and learn more about the mates book. As we go to most of their homes to try and get support before the Dragons do. And them Dragons are nasty, oh I hope it's just that colony cult of Dragons, here's hoping there's a secret colony of non raping killing cult Dragons!!
There was way more smex, more Damion killing in " don't look and cover your ears or throw up" ways, more mates learning how to be a good mate, and what I like more is more mates being vulnerable with Wren...that trust is special. They are so good together. I can't understand how Grayson was chosen for her, when all her mates are just the best...I mean he got her eyeballs! awwwww 🥰
The book is okay, it's still building as a series. There are heartache moments and it's not a pony ride. The Smut is hot and she is a lucky fox. Also, Wren gets a power and I keep thinking...okay so when is the cool bit of the power gonna kick in...There is more right!...right...?...right...🥺
Okay, term 3. Time to see what Shades up to 🐿 oh and also to follow on with this war and stuff 😬
2 books of the 4 part series are out! What I love about fantasy/PNR romances are the world building and the strong story lines. Wren is an arctic fox shifter, the last of her kind. She gets rejected by her fated mate right before being “marked” for the academy of gifted supernaturals to train for war. Here she finds out she has SEVEN potential mates, and over the first two books the mate bonds cement with FIVE. Wrens mates are fire drake, vampire, incubus, shadow demon, ice fae, shifter, and necromancer. In book2 we discover what Wrens unique ability is, and the war with dragons and humans begins. We learn more about the humans, and what they’re doing to prepare for a supernatural war. We also get some more in-depth on each of the guys and their species/home lives. I feel like the story is getting better with each book. While the spice has increased, there is still SO much story building and plot to keep you interested and not skimming pages. Looking forward to term 3&4
Why is this book already over? I mean: it's a real big book and a lot happens, but still... I was absolutely not ready for it to be done!
I almost never do rereads of books, even when the next book in a series releases, but I just had to read the first book again to see the connections between these characters form again. This second book is such a lovely addition to that; the way the connections between these characters grow is so beautiful! It's amazing how the author manages to make all these mates into clear characters with their own personalities and to make it obvious what they all mean to Wren. It's impossible to mention everything I loved about this second book without writing a novella sized review myself. It's filled with love, action, suspense, spice, friendship, emotions, worldbuilding, character building and so much more!
Without a doubt: this series is an absolute must read!
I really missed all these characters so damn much. I love that we got to see them each fight there own internal (& even some external) battles. The guys really showed their vulnerability’s in this book. Which was so nice to see. Wren is slowly but surely build up the fight within her & i loved watching her tap into that in the book. I just know her character is going to continue blossoming & i can’t wait to witness it! I wasn’t expecting this book to tug at my heart but it really did ugh!! i CANT WAIT for Term 3!!!!
If you love a paranormal romance reverse harem with a sweet fmc & mates that adore & respect her definitely check this series out!
Also my little psycho shadow demon Damien had me SWOONING with all his love and adoration for Wren in this book!🥹💜
Sometimes, it was hard to believe that this only takes place shortly after the first book, and within a few months of book one starting. I do like that each book will take course during one term.
Wren has some trauma to work through from Term 1, and mate bonds to navigate. Damien will always be my favorite, then I think Kian. He’s a sweetheart. Damien is the best psycho.
I can see some big character development changes for Rhett coming soon. There were times I wanted to reach in to the book and smack some sense in to him, but really, it’s something the character must come to on their own. He’ll do it eventually, I just know it.
The character developments that did happen during this book were half expected and half surprise. I’m looking forward to the next book!
Love the plot, but started to get annoyed with the FMC. No i dont expect all women to be badass, but this one is physically and emotionally weak and though she knows, she is not putting in any effort to become stronger or at least not let her weaknesses distract her mates. I love the guys as well rounded characters, diverse not only due to species but in manners, outlook, character etc. Plot is also epic with a war in multiple fronts (ice Vs fire, supernatural Vs human, dragons Vs everyone). The battle at the end and its buildup could have been a bit more part of the story. Other than that, great story!

With each page that I read with the series I am dragged deeper and deeper in love with these characters. The bonds that form between Wren and her 7 mates only help her to find strength and grow into the person that she’s meant to be. While trying to start to gather allies from the different territories in Kalista, Wren and two of her mates find that the Blezen dragons are up to no good. While things at Fate Hollow unfortunately aren’t serving an better with Wren and 2 of her mates being gone. Returning to Fate Hollow and finding out what’s transpired while gone only leads Wren to finding out something new about herself. Finding strength and support within the bonds and the few people they trust is the only way that these characters will make it through the heartbreak that this war is and will continue to bring. I am dying to seeing where book 3 takes us as the war continues to build. Book 3 could not come quick enough!
“That was a f*cking masterpiece. Why haven’t I tried choking her before.” Like what!! These characters keep sucking me in and making me fall more and more in love with them!!
Lyra takes you on a journey into this world and hits you with all the feels like you are Wren herself. I was screaming with her and laughing and crying with her!
The war between the dragons and the humans is eye opening. I was surprised at some of the turns of events that happened with the dragons and wearwolfs in this story.
I love how when a new bond snaps together with wren it is special in its own way and brings out more of Wrens personality. All of her men will die for her and they break for her. The character development is on point!! I love the reveals of her Mates past that shows who they are and why they are the way they are.
Lyra truly knows how to suck you into a story and this one is captivating. You will not regret reading this series. I believe it will only get better.
I got this as an ARC and read it all in one day. I just couldn't put it down! The characters continue to make me only love them further, with introductions to new characters that are just the same - so incredibly loveable.
- Spoilers from here onward -
Kian's familiar was such a surprise and I loved it, bringing humour into a book with such a heavy atmosphere. The first battle of the war was devastating, to be so upset, then given hope, only for it to be taken away again! I can't wait to see how Wren's final two mates finally bond with her so her soul will be completed. Seeing the vampire teacher that was at first seemingly little more than a pest come to play a role in the wider story was very satisfying, as I'm sure the reveal of the two stalkers will be.
I cannot wait for book three!

Term 1 laid down the foundations so we could go into Term 2 running. With most of the major world building already out of the way we can see more of the relationships between Wren and her mates.
I love how no two bonds are the same. It makes me look forward to every interaction. I also like to see that she is finally standing up for herself and not as much of a soft push over. The character development even within her mates Is great to see. The possessiveness they feel for her never interferes with each other but they still make mistakes which is interesting to see how everyone responds.
It’s still the soft and fluffy RH from Term 1 but now the stakes are ramping up and o can’t wait to see where she takes us in Term 3!
While I absolutely loved the first book in this series sadly I didn't enjoy this one as much. The beginning started at good and had a lot of funny moments involving Damien's mate mark. Around 30% in the book Wren started acting tstl and all of her mates cried other the littlest thing. I like it when men are able to express their emotions but they don't have to cry to do that. All but one of her mates are supposed to be strong/crazy yet they didn't act like it. I am not going to continue with the series.
Lyra did it again! The world she created is unbelievably addicting! The characters are phenomenal! I fall more in love with this series every book! There’s drama, spice, war and true love at it’s finest. Wren is such a strong character, she is a badass and she is the missing pieces all of her mates needed! She loves all of her guys so much, she has the biggest heart! Damien, Allistar, Rowan, Rhett, Lachlan, Thorne and Kian are such great mates to her! They all love her so much, and very very protective and she needs them all in different ways. The spice in this book was AMAZING!! There was lots of group scenes, their mouths be dirty as fuck! But the chemistry she has with all seven of them is PHENOMENAL!
