The way to earth-based spirituality. Leo Rutherford describes Shamanic approaches and traditions from indigenous tribes who lived in harmony with the planet.
The wisdom of these approaches are beyond what words can express and are definitely needed in a time where mainstream society focuses on accumulation of wealth and planetary destruction for the satisfaction of their ego, or in other words for the attempt to fill the inner void of fear, scarcity and shame.
The book describes shamanism from a high level, meaning that it is suitable for newcomers to the topic. At the same time the exercises provided allow to go as deep into introspection about one's own life as desired.
The way of shamanism is to live in harmony with all that is, which makes ourselves part of the universe. The way to reach this oneness is to heal oneself. The medicine wheel provides a holistic map of body, mind, heart and soul to look at our own life and the experiences that we create and thus enables to create life-affirming habits that serve our own well-being, that of our relationships and the well-being of our planet.
