The atomic cannon described here is 1950s the M65 280mm gun for battling the Reds in Europe. These guns used two-headed tractors (front and back). Lots of B&W photos and other illustrations (many of which were in the original Army technical manuals). Text and history is thin while there are intriguing details about an actual nuclear test firing an atomic shell 7 miles in Nevada in 1953.
