Two different worlds collide, her hurricane sweeping against Dimitri’s fury of a tornado. They have the chance to rebuild the world, but rebuilding it and destroying it are two sides of the same coin.

A bargain. A demon. A club. The Bratva. A Goddess. And, the thread of Magick pulsing through everything they do.

Is being hopeful an exercise in naivety, or is it the thing that fuels them?

Dimitri

I shouldn’t have claimed her - but I did, and she claimed me right back. But having a Tarot Reader and Witch as my Queen complicates matters. Having her wasn’t supposed to raise the stakes, but it did, and I’ll be damned if I let her go.

Corinne

I watch the uneasiness flicker in his eyes. The threat hasn’t been quelled, the ground is shaky beneath us, and with every new member I meet, I look into the depths of their soul and wonder if they’ll be the one to betray us - because betrayal is coming - it’s written in the cards, I just need to figure out who.

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Note 2: This is a series. The first two books in the series are a duet. Please read in order -as previous characters do make cameos.

Trigger Warnings: violence, death, murder, underage sex mentioned, mention of drug use, illness mentioned, vegetational state mentioned. mention of Salem witch trials.

Just to catch you up on my opinion regarding the first book: goodreads.com/review/show/4611455832?...

This time, the book's path is a bit different. It instead takes a more romantic, self-discovery, and steamy direction than the original content and action heavy first novel.

And I appreciated it. To a certain degree. But the endless s** scenes started boring me to tears, making me miss and wish for the last first book which was more content and action heavy.

I mean I loved Dimitri and Corinne's discovery, dance of mystery and how they get to know each other more and accept differences.

But did we really need at least 100 different ways of how Dimitri rocked her world and not in the sing song way?

No. This book could've been much more entertaining and shorter had a few of those scenes been cut out. Again like I said, this reminds me of a sarah j maas novel - either there is endless filler, or endless steamy scenes. People need to make up their minds.

Anyway, I still enjoyed being in both worlds: the bratva and the witchy wacky world. Plus the ending was something that made me look forward to the next book so yeah here I am - eagerly waiting for the next.

Hope its' better than this one.

Until the next read,

-TMR

An absolutely phenomenal sequel, and beginning to a series!
After book 1, we were left wondering how the relationship of Corinne and Dimitri would play out, and I loved it!
Not only do we see immense growth from Dimitri as he does what he can for Corinne, helps her shoulder her burdens, and handle the darkness, but Corinne grows and learns to find her place in the world.
The ending of this book does give you answers, yes, but it also leaves you hanging as you wonder how in the world this could possibly play out peacefully of even positively. There are so many ways this series could go horribly wrong, or amazingly right. But we'll just have to see!

Dimitri and Corinne come from completely different worlds - he the leader of the Bratva, she a Vedman who lives and breathes Magick. There is something enthralling about her Magick - or maybe it’s just her. Dimitri knows he shouldn’t have claimed her, but once he’d had a taste, he knew he was never letting her go again.

Unfortunately for them both, making an outsider his Empress might not have been the smartest choice. As a result of Dimitri’s decision, they’re faced with even more danger than they were in before, and considering he runs the Bratva, that’s not a small amount. Dimitri and Corinne must now find strength in both their abilities and each other - and see if true love truly does conquer all.

Oh. My. Gosh. This book was absolutely spectacular. This second book concludes Dimitri and Corinne’s story, yes, but Moya definitely left the world’s door open - I’m excited to see what direction she takes this series in next! I loved all the elements of this book. The action was fast paced, yet not rushed, the romance fiery bright, and the Magick - so intriguing!

Dimitri. He is such a complex person. I loved that about him, I even loved his brutality. He would do anything for the people he loves - and while that may be a short list, when I say anything, I mean it. He was an absolute dream to read about. Corinne. My heart goes out to her because she had to work to earn the Bratva men’s trust. As an outsider, they were immediately suspicious of her, of what her possible motives could be.

Honestly though, I think she proved herself many times over, and I loved that she learned to be strong not just for Dimitri, but for herself. I would completely recommend this book, and if you haven’t read the first one, “The Empress…” go do that!!! 5 freaking stars!

I began this ARC instantly after I finished the first book and I was still emotional from it!! From the beginning, the spice is strong, and I don’t qualify it as 5/5 just because it's a book with plot!! (Dimitri has a choking kink) ❤️‍🔥 There’s a great and magnificent understandment and research of MAGIK, witches (witchcraft) and the Bratva. Everything they entail build the world the author is making us live in through the pages. I can feel the power of magick as if she had charged her words, her book, with magik.
Still, let’s not romatise the mafia bc you can see the author doesn't want that to happen! For ex. the men leaving the women to tend the table and also remain there while they had their drinks?? Excuse you patriarchy ???
If the first book was like an introduction to their issues and different realities that start intertwining and get closer more and more, like water and oil, then this second book gets more dramatic and drastic in those lines. It’s darker, and one can not only read it through the actions and things that happen through its pages but also bc of the characters’ inner thoughts (POV Corrine — protagonist & Dimitri — co protagonist).
I’m thrilled and overly excited to read the next book coming out in a few months this year!! So if you are a witch, if you’re into tarot, witchtok, witchcraft, if that world calls you, the female divinity, the MAFIA (specifically russian mafia), you CANNOT miss these books!
ps. It’s always the “Dimitri”s, right? (I’m looking at you too Dimitri from The Vampire Academy).

I’m speechless after reading this book. Not only did Erin Mc Luckie Moya manage to keep my otherwise distracted brain engaged, but she made me fall more in love with this world. The characters, the magic, the plot, everything was amazing and I absolutely loved it.

Like every single book of Moya’s I’ve read, we get answers to our questions from previous books, but she also leaves us with questions and wanting more. I was completely captivated by this book and Moya is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors.

The Emperor Review

When I tell yall that I am so invested in Corinne and Dimitri's story!! I love everything about their relationship!!

Just like book 1 Erin did a fantastic job not leaving out even small details that helps readers visualize everything going on!! Reading book 1 & 2 has been such a refreshing experience for me because like I said in my review for book 1, the mashup of Bratva & Magick is something completely new and unique to me and I fucking love it so so soooo much!!!

Watching both Corinne and Dimitri grow in this book really pulled at my heart strings and solidified my investment into their story!! The way Erin keeps you on the edge of your seat with all the twists and turns, guessing, and the anticipation is the absolute best!! I literally couldn't put this down and really read chapter after chapter in less than a day!!!

One of the best things about this book is that Erin kicked the spice up a few notches and I am here for allllllll of it!! I can't wait to see what else Erin has in store for us in the future!! Not just with Corinne and Dimitri, but with her future work as well!! The Tarot Club series is definitely a must read!! If you haven't read the first one, then you NEED to!! Get these added to your TBR!!!! Like right now!!!

So Invested!

I am so invested in Corrine and Dimitri's story! I would have never thought mafia Bratva and magic would work so well together, but the author made it work spectacularly well! No small details were left out and this sequel felt like it hit every point I needed in their story. Love, drama, action and everything in between! The spice was kicked up from book one (no complaints from me), and I felt like the characters truly evolved from book one.

I am so excited to see what happens next with this series!

This series is really heating up with this newest book in the series. With this book I was all in. You can definitely say that I loved this book more than the first book. So, glad that I have chosen to continue this series. Dimitri and Corinne are great together.

It is so nice to see Corinne blossom into a powerful woman. She was not afraid to ask for what she wanted behind closed bedroom doors as well as becoming a powerful witch. In this book, Corinne uses her abilities more. Additionally, readers become familiar better with the coven.

I felt like I got to see who Dimitri is underneath his tough exterior. I felt more closer to him and understood him better. I can't wait to continue this series. Erin sure does know how to bring the heat!

Erin, Erin, Erin.
As usual you've blown me away with your words.
To bring Bratva and witches together into an enthralling story is a credit to yourself.
The plot, characters and spice was mwah (chefs kiss).
I shamelessly girlied over Dmitri, I mean come on can you blame me.
And I loved Corrines development as the story went on.
Brilliant.
I love Erins uniqueness, daring to write things that others don't. Her imagination and putting it into words is unlike anything I've ever read before.

Dimitri & Corrine are back in the second installment of The Tarot Club series. This is the conclusion to their story. Empress must be read first.

I'm so glad that we get more Dimitri in this book.

Corrine really discovers what her Magick can do. With threats from the voodoo community, she relies on her club\family for help. I really enjoyed this book. Tons of action and spicy scenes.

The magick community and the Bravta join forces.

Dimitri & Corrine's relationship heats up. He stands by her side while she does spells and helps her when she needs it.

I recommend this series if you like paranormal romances with witches, demons, and the Bravta.

Can't wait for Marie's book!!!

The Emperor is the second installment of the Tarot Club. And this was an amazing follow up to the Empress. I love seeing Dimitri and Cor’s relationship develop! The spice was top notch 🥵

I loved getting to see more of Dimitri and his development as a character. And how he always stood beside Cor if she needed his help.

Then Cor and coming into her Magick was beautiful see. The growth in characters and their relationship was amazing to read.

Plus getting to finally meet the rest of the Tarot Club! I cannot wait for the next installment!

Corrine is trying to figure out where she stands with Dimitri, yes they have spicy chemistry and he wants her in his room not hers but what is she to him. She finds out more about herself and the power within her. They touch on the death of Arlo as well. We find out about Dimitri’s early life as well.

I really enjoyed this book. I received this copy from the author and my honest review is voluntary.

Erin has this way of writing such intense visuals. I knew I was going to love this book from the first chapter. We get to dig more into how Dimitri and watch as his relationship with Corinne grows.
Corinne split between two versions of her self struggles and learns how to become who she is truly meant to be.
The burn you felt in book 1, you don’t get it here, so get ready to sweat it out with Magick & Bratva.
This author has become a one click for me.

Book two of Corinne and Dimitri’s story did not disappoint. The spice level has spiked in this second book of The Tarot Club so be prepared for elevated heart rates. You get the same authentic touches of Magick as in the first book as Corinne learns to navigate her status as a Witch of the Bratva.

This book was addictive and hard to put down. I look forward to future stories in The Tarot Club series.

Sexy, Sizzling & Sensational!

Although this is only book two in the series this concludes the duet that is Dimitri & Corinne.

This picks up where The Empress ended and it is literally go, go, go from the first page, if I didn't need to sleep I would of read this in one sitting.

This has a extremely original plot mixing The Bratva with Magick and all that entails. We see more of the other witches personalities in this book and the banter between them all is well written.

This is by far the hottest book Erin has written, and if you like your steamy scenes, lots of them and some infused with magick this one is for you!

The saga continues

This book continues on from the first boom. Corinne and Dimitri deal with the grief of arlos death through smexy times. Then there's a curse to deal with. The voodoo priestess attempted to unalive Dimitri and Corinne sought retribution by cursing her to děath. And of course when Dimitri finally wakes up he claims his bride and we have a wedding. I loved seeing the interaction between corinne and her club and Dimitri and how loving her found family is towards the two of them. But trouble still lies ahead, as a war is brewing.

I read book the empress and I love it. However when I got to ending I couldn't wait for book 2. I love who we see the growth of rhe characters. How Erin me guess what could possible happen. All the twist and turns in the story and having me on the edge od my seat. Like I said about the first book this is a bravta meet witchy story and I don't know how you did it, but you did. Thr spice was on a level you can't explain.

So if your looking for a unique writing by an an amazing author and love paranormal, witchy, demon story please check out the series today. Must read empress before reading emperor.

4/5 🌶️

The follow up to The Empress did not disappoint! I loved watching Corinne and Dimitri's relationship evolve from the end of book one through the end of this one. The action was a little lacking for me, but still good.

During The Emperor we get to watch Corinne and Dimitri fall in love . All the while they are learning how to be in each other's families, The Club and The Bratva. We also get to see more of Lauren and her sister, Stacy, too as the New Orleans Voodoo threat increases.

I lovedddd watching Dimitri handle Corinne's parents. Alan and Emily are some of the more awful book parents I've read about. Her dad's complete indifference to Corinne is sad and her mom's overbearing need to control her life is worse. I both love and hate that they so easily fell under Dimitri's spell.

I really loved watching Dimitri handle The Club and also watching The Club handle The Club. So many of the sisters seemed to be constantly on edge with each other one minute, but fully supportive the next (like true sisters). They really stepped up to help Corinne and it was great. I love all of the witches we got to know, especially Zoey and Max.

Seeing Corinne take charge of The Bratva while Dimitri was recuperating was great. I loved seeing the pushback she got from and how she handled it. I wonder how he will play a part going forward, I don't think we're done with him yet. I loved seeing more of Ravi and Stepen too, I really love their characters and hope they get their own books.

The climax did come a little earlier than I expected and I kept anticipation more to happen during the wedding. I almost felt like an extended epilogue at the end, but honestly I was okay with it. The wedding was really interesting and a lot of fun.

The setup for The High Priestess was great, and I'm so excited to get to it!

“I’m here.” He was here—it would be okay—I wasn’t alone anymore.

Every time I read something from Erin Mc Luckie, I just love her more. Just when I think I know what I like, I have a new favorite by the time I’m done reading.

Since I bonded with The Empress, I didn’t think The Emperor would top it. But, boy, was I wrong! Even though The Empress will always have a special place in my heart, there’s just something about The Emperor.

The Emperor picks up where The Empress left off. I’m glad I decided to read The Empress again before starting The Emperor. I believe that reading the duet back to back made my experience even better than it could be without doing so. The Empress laid out the foundation of what would be The Tarot Club series. The background. The Emperor, in comparison, is the story playing out.

Since it’s called The Emperor, is it weird to want more Dimitri than what was given? Or is that just me? I couldn’t get enough of him and wanted more. Every time we get a glimpse of Dimitri’s perspective, I didn’t think it was enough. I know that It’s Corrine’s journey, and I love her too, but I guess it’s just wishful thinking.

Dimitri smiled at me, and I was suddenly aware that I was experiencing a lot of firsts with this man. It was as if before him I had simply been going through the motions or living without actually experiencing life itself.

Relationships have their ups and downs. What Corrine and Dimitri went through would either make or break a couple. The beginning was rough with a certain event. Then not knowing where they stood with one another. All of the mixed signals. It could’ve been easily fixed with communication. But then again, I also understand. It’s sometimes difficult to communicate. Even through the confusion, one thing is certain, Corrine and Dimitri love each other, even if they aren’t sure about the other’s feelings when it’s clear as day. It’s the type of relationship that is “us versus the world.” They will be there for one another, no matter what. They understand and complement one another.

“I am a king amongst men.”
“My actions will always bother others.”
“Am I others?”
“You are my queen—my Empress.”

Corrine is finally free from her picture perfect life, able to be herself. There was a lot of growth in The Emperor. In Corrine, Dimitri and Corrine’s relationship, and more. We heard about the other Tarot Club members and had little glimpses in The Empress. But in The Emperor, we actually meet them and see their dynamic/relationship with Corrine present day. It makes me want to know more about them. With the first duet complete, I can’t wait for the rest of The Tarot Club series to continue with The High Priestess coming July 7, 2022.

This was such a interesting, intriguing and steamy sequel to the first in this series. Erin Mc Luckie Moya's Tarot Club series is beautifully crafted and book one and two work hand in hand and building perfectly on each other. The first book in the series really laid the ground work of the world, introducing the reader to the magik structure and how the mafia interlinks. In this second book we really see the characters in this world expand and take beautiful shape as relationships are deepened and strengthened. Moya's writing has a graceful accessibility that easily drew me back into the world and the lives of the hero and heroine. I found myself along for the roller coaster ride of the way the mafia and magik systems both worked together and against each other.

This sequel really deepens the relationship between Corrine and Dimitri in such a beautiful way. This novel builds up there physical relationship which really plays a strong roll in how they interact with each other and how they help heal and help each other. The chemistry and sensuality between them is well written and strong. I love that we see their devotion for each other through their physical interactions as they slowly been to realize it in their emotions.

I very highly recommend this series if you are looking for a unique take on a mafia romance. I love the interweaving of the magik and building a relationship of magik and mafia. Definitely read these books in order, they are fun, interesting and where the slow burn of the first novel definitely pays off in its sequel!

Thank you Erin Mc Luckie Moya for an eARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is book 2 in the series the Tarot Club as well as the sequel to the Empress making this a duo to read. In this book we are digging deeper into the relationship of Corinne and Dimitri and what the pairing between a witch and the Bratva can mean.

Corinne has stepped out and made herself known to the Bratva and their enemies and with Dimitri having put claim on her we have a story that is turning up the steaminess. Will Corinne’s life ever be the boring same by taking over her dad’s business or is she going to become a target within the Bratva and all it entails. What will she choose to ensure her happiness and how is her goddess going to feel about everything that Corinne is taking on?

Dimitri has stepped into the role of the King of the Bratva and never wants to have a Queen to run his empire with him. In his eyes bringing a woman into this type of business is not right because she could never be happy with him. Is Corinne going to change his mind and weasel her way under his skin and into his business. Dimitri is opening himself up to learn more about Corinne and her Magick trying to understand why his grandfather thought a witch should be brought in.

After reading the Empress I needed to know how the story of Corinne and Dimitri kept developing and Erin did not let me down. The characters are developing and taking on a personality that keeps you engaged. The story unfolds with twists and turns that keep you on your toes as they are unexpected and surprising. But will it be a love story with a happy ending? Grab your copy to find out.

The Emperor by Erin Mc Luckie Moya

8/5

Honestly, every book I read by Erin gets better and better. I have been craving the release of the Emperor from the moment I finished The Empress. The Tarot Club Series as a whole is incredible, elegant, and insanely creative.

We see a new side to Corinne in the Empress, she is no longer the “weak” woman she sometimes came off as in The Empress. Corinne truly begins to embrace her nature as a witch and takes her practice of magick to new levels.

The relationship between Dimitri and Corinne continues to grow. Dimitri is a man who shows his love is blunt but not necessarily obviously ways. His love language for sure differs from the norm. However, you can see his passion for Corinne, his men, and the Bratva as a whole. I also have to mention that Dimitri is completely willing to go to bat against Emily Rand and it is both absolutely gratifying and hilarious. I don’t think Emily Rand ever saw someone being able to best her at classy social manipulation.

We also get to know the members of the club a bit better in this book and it is VERY revealing. I cannot WAIT to see where this series takes the readers, I am literally getting goosebumps thinking about it as I type this.

Erin, you have done it again, thank you for bringing The Emperor into my life. I can state with conviction that The Emperor is in my top five books for 2022.

First off, thank you to the author for the ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review!

In the second installment of The Tarot Club, Dimitri and Corinne are back. Dimitri's character is given so much development with Corinne and it was so exciting to see!

Overall, I feel this is one of the best novels I have read in the fantasy/adventure genre, and love where the plot goes. It is a MUST read!

Dimitri is by far my favorite character and seeing his relationship with Corinne grow as she stood by her side is extraordinary.

Magical witches and mafia Bratva mixed together to give you an amazing story of unlikely worlds connecting in perfection. (This is the continuous of book two in the series, must read books in order not a standalone.)

Book two in the series following Dimitri and Corrine's love story of sorts. I mean you normally wouldn't think magical witches and mafia like Bratva would go so well together, but this author has woven the mixture to perfection. This book delves more into Dimitri and Corrine's relationship and is heavy on the spicy moments.

Dimitri and Corrine find themselves getting to know one another more and she starts to finally feel herself as accepted in this new world they have created. Corrine's growth is leaps and bounds from the girl in book one, with her new acceptance and magic taking hold of her.

This book's ending sets up book three and without spoiling anything truly it will be Marie's book next and I'm excited to see where it will go. If you love a good story with magic and mafia like themes, this book is definitely one to grab it has a bit more spicy content then book one and has a few twists along the way. It's a definitely a series that pulls you in and has you wanting more.

This is the second book in The Tarot Club series by the amazing Erin Mc Luckie Moya. Mafia (ok Bratva) mixed with magic was a hell yeah for me in the first book, and this just upped the ante!!

This is a continuing story, so you must read the first book, which is also on kindle unlimited.

Picking up where we left of, Corinne and Dimitris relationship is pure fire. It’s pure pent up lust, but what’s wonderful is seeing their relationship evolve from sex, to real feelings, it was truly heartwarming.

These guys are a power couple and with that brings enemies from all sides. Both Magical and within the Bratva. Little did they know how much they would have each other’s backs.

There are more magical reveals in this book on the mysterious demon front but no spoilers from me, you just need to read it.

If you love spicy mafia books, you will love this and if you love spicy magical books, this is also for you. Two amazing genres working so well together. Top marks from me 5/5.

Even though there were a good amount of typos in the copy that I received to review, I really enjoyed the book. I had not read the first one, but I was still able to keep up with the plot line and get an understanding of what happened in the first book. I loved that this was not a mafia type book. Dimitri does run an organization, but it is more sophisticated and well-hidden than most of the mafia books I have read. Corinne was such a good character, she showed growth and was able to stand up to her parents and prove that she could do well for herself without them. I loved Dimitri's possessiveness when it comes to Corinne. They seemed perfectly matched by the universe and could tell when something was wrong with the other. I am excited to read the first book and any other books that are added to the series.
