Newton first began work on the Executioner series by co-writing "The Executioner's War Book" with Don Pendleton in 1977. Since then he has been a steady writer for the series with almost 90 entries to his credit, which triples the amount written by creator Don Pendleton. His skills and knowledge of the series have allowed him to be picked by the publishers to write the milestone novels such as #100, #200, and #300.
Writing under the pseudonym Lyle Brandt, Michael Newton has also become a popular writer of Western novels. He has written a number of successful non-fiction titles as well, including a book on genre writing (How to Write Action Adventure Novels). His book Invisible Empire: The Ku Klux Klan in Florida won the Florida Historical Society's 2002 Rembert Patrick Award for Best Book in Florida History. Newton's "Encyclopedia of Cryptozoology" won the American Library Association's award for Outstanding Reference Work in 2006."

It was OK.

Good story with some action but a little too much dead time as Mack got to the hostages. The ending was satisfying to say the least

The book was somewhat slow for a Bolan novel! It was still understandably entertaining, and action packed?

An average entry in the series. An attack on Gitmo frees a number of radicals. A cruise ship is taken over, then sunk, killing 80% of the people on board. A resort on Cuba is also taken over by the other escaped terrorists, and Mack Bolan is sent in, along with a beautiful Cuban woman (of course) to stop them before they can repeat the slaughter there.
It was pretty much plot by the numbers, with the biggest question never answered: just why was this done? Why free members of one group, only to send them on suicide missions in Cuban territory? Why did none of those people decide to just take off? What did this have to do with Saudi Arabia anyway (an organizer works for the Saudi embassy in the US). The basic answer was just 'because'. I would have liked a little more about the why.
