He didn’t know he needed her until she came into his life.
Crow is a Night Rebel, one of the largest MCs in Southern Colorado. A whiskey neat. A rumble of a Harley underneath him. A woman wet and ready for him. Those are his ideas of the good life.
He and relationships don’t mix, especially since the woman of his dreams rode off into the sunset with a rival MC member on his bike. The betrayal and hurt built a wall around his heart that he has no intention of breaking down.
The only women he wants in his life are the ones who know the score: fun without commitment. He likes the variety without the heartache.
Then he sees her and everything changes. Curves that won’t quit, long legs, and a defiant look in her big brown eyes. She’s pure temptation
Angie Morelli is stressed, overworked, and sick of everything, especially men. The man who professed undying love to her was caught with his pants down—literally—with one of her bridesmaids the morning of their wedding. Still reeling from the humiliation, she takes a job with the Housing Department in Alina, Colorado, a town far away from her past life.
When the rugged biker gets in her face when she’s just trying to do her job, she sees red. It’s too bad he’s handsome, rugged, and sexier than any man has the right to be.
Even though neither of them wants to admit it, an undeniable attraction sizzles between them. But she isn’t interested in getting her heart ripped to shreds, especially since she’s just now starting to heal from her pre-wedding disaster.
In addition to the arrogant, sexy biker turning her world upside down, there is a madman stalking and killing people. The residents of the housing project call him the shadow man, and they fear his powers, his strength, and his evil.
All of a sudden, Angie is in the midst of a terrifying nightmare, and no one can help her except the sexy biker with a colossal chip on his shoulder. Will Crow be able to gain her trust and put aside his bitterness to save her?
The Night Rebels MC series are standalone romance novels. This book describes the life and actions of a gritty outlaw motorcycle club. HEA. No cliffhangers.
Chiah Wilder writes about rough, sexy men who know how to treat their women.
Always a lover of books, she began writing at a young age and continued through college with collections of short stories. Figuring she had to grow up and get a “real” job, her writing was placed on the back burner.
Her love of reading has always been center front in her life. Chiah’s love of bad boys both in and out of fiction has inspired her books. She loves an alpha male whose softer side is brought out by a passionate, spirited woman. In fiction there are no rules or boundaries, and fantasies can go as far as the characters want to take them. Steamy, romances with tough, sexy bad boys are her guilty pleasure along with brownies, cheddar cheese, and movie marathons.
Hum, where to start with this one. I guess I will start with the fact that I had mixed feelings about this story we loved Crow enjoyed the side characters but, we never warmed up to Angie the entire story, and we can't say we even liked her, I think it because I found her too judgmental. Every time she saw Crow with a woman, he was either a player or womanizer in her mind without getting to know the man, and it really pissed us off. Yet she could not stop lusting after him? Angie in her job of choice and working with others where others tend to be judgmental, she was not, she was sweet and kind, so it surprised us it only seemed to be with Crow. We never felt any kind of chemistry between her and Crow. Could we see them as a couple and good for one another, yes, because they were complete opposites and by being with Crow she would soon learn there was more to life than work and learn to enjoy life. I also loved that Crow was just so protective of the people he cared about, even not Angie well he still worried about her safety, and we thought that was really cute.
My final thoughts, I thought the story was way boring, and it seemed to take forever for things to get going already 40 percent into the book things were just taking off between the couple and even more time before the heat factor kicked in. I did like the plot and how it had you guessing who the shadow man was, and my guess was, not even close, and I loved that. This one may not have been a favorite of mind, but, still loving the series.
I love this series...who am I kidding... I think I've read all of this authors books. This one was really good but not my favorite. I think it was because I've got a lot on my mind. This book is a little bit of a who done it. A bunch of suspects in a bunch of murders. Someone is killing homeless people but who. We have a lot of suspects and I went back and forth between who. You don't find out for sure until the end of the book. The romance is HoTT. Crow and Angie. Crow is a full fledge member of the Rebels MC and has had his heart ripped out once and won't let it happen again. Angie was engaged and the day of her wedding she caught her fiance and her best friend doing the dirty. She left town and started all over. She wants an HEA but not ready for it. Now if she could just convince her family to stop with the blind dates. Only one thing that was missing. Wonder why he didn't take her to his club.
Chiah Wilder always spins great stories packed with hot bikers, steamy sexy times, and plot-twisting murder/mysteries. Crow and Angie’s is no exception.
I love the banter between the brothers in the Night Rebels, the constant meddling of Angie’s Italian family in regards to her dating life, and the attention to detail throughout the entire book.
He's a Night Rebel, a caring uncle, a brother, and hot as sin. She's just as hot, an investigator for HUD, and like him, she's done with relationships. Just as she decides not to let her aunt set her up on another miserable blind date like this one, she spots Crow. Wow! He's looking at her as well--he's also with another woman. Not doing that again!
Even though she has been around town for a while and hasn't seen him, they keep running into each other. Even on her job where she is investigating his sister and her kids along with the slum lord who owns their apartment. While they try to convince themselves they aren't interested a threat to Angie when he is near is all it takes to change things.
A serial killer of homeless men is too close for comfort and protecting her brings them closer where they begin to admit their feelings. Will they be able to get past each of their own pasts and heartbreaks? Is there a future for them?
Great characters, MC brothers, relatives including over-protective brothers, help make this a great read. Gotta say Crow is probably a book boyfriend to every reader. Angie is strong, caring, and not even a little bit too nasty to be around. I love the MC. They care about the community but have no interest in publicity. Where help is needed they step in and help. Not angels but good guys in their own way.
I always enjoy the author's books and this one is a WINNER for sure. Don't miss it. I guarantee if the author is new to you and you aren't a fan, once you read it you will be.
I love the Night Rebels! Crow is part of this MC and loyalty and brotherhood are top priority to him. He's constantly helping others whether it's a brother in the club, helping his sister with his niece and nephew or some of the homeless men he sees around town.
Angie works for HUD and has to check on people in this one apartment building. She wants to make sure that everyone living there is supposed to be there and more importantly that the owner is doing what he's supposed to be doing to make it a safe and clean place for people to live. Neither one of those tasks is easy.
Angie sees Crow one night while she's out on another blind date and immediately there's some weird connection. Over the next few days, she keeps seeing him in different places - her aunt's deli, the apartment complex, the diner. Some connection is building between them and they start chatting.
In the meantime, there are homeless men being brutally killed and the people at this apartment complex are complaining about this Shadow Man walking the hallways. One of the tenants that Angie helps out gets brutally murdered and now everyone is scared and wants to find this killer. It doesn't get any better when the Shadow Man starts coming for Angie and is actually outside her window trying to break in one night. Crow is not going to let anything happen to her.
This was a great murder mystery/romance. Crow was unlike any of the other MC books by Chiah Wilder but just as fun watching him fall!
I am now a follower!! This is the first book I read in this series and I loved every minute of this MC story. Crow is a member of the Night Rebels MC and they are an MC that will help people when needed. (See not all bad! LOL) As far as how Crow lives his life, well, that changed when the woman he loved rode off on the bike of a rival club member. Now he’s sworn off relationships with women.
Angie was a bride that found her groom the morning of the wedding with one of her bridesmaids. Yep, you guessed it…she’s swearing off relationships as well. She leaves town to wind up in the same city as Crow. Angie works for HUD and she’s overlooking a housing project that has a serial killer on the loose.
The fire and connection between two people who have been burned in the past was undeniable. Will Crow be able to protect the woman he’s falling for and just who is this serial killer?
Crow and Angie are great as a couple. I loved how we had the mystery of trying to figure out who the killer is. I will say it will keep you thinking. I don’t want to give away who it is but I will say it Wilder did great at keeping you guessing. I did get a little irritated with how Angie kept acting towards Crow, until she finally gave into how she was feeling. I would have liked to see them spend more time with the club just bc I felt like we were pulling away from his brothers after they got together. However, this story was great!!
I was just rereading the Insurgents series, so I was so excited to be able to read this book. It was fantastic! It has a very interesting plot to the story. I for one did not expect that ending, finding out who the killer was. Great twist!! Loved the love story of Crow and Angie it wasn't rushed and was so good. Definitely a very good book to read.
This is wild. I love how the relationship between Angie and Crow progresses even when they deny their attraction. While it's not love at first sight, you can feel the chemistry between them. A great story with some action and loved their strong personalities.
I have mixed feelings about an average review, because I really do love Crow and Angie as a couple, but Chiah spent more energy on diverging plot points and characters to throw us off the “mystery” than she did on the romance. I come here for M.C. romance, and that took a backseat to too many characters and red herrings in an attempt to throw us off the scent. Between the excessive numbers of citizen encounters, random plot points that took up a lot of words but did nothing to advance the plot, and storylines that went nowhere, I’m left disappointed. I love it when Insurgents show up, but they took up way too much space in a story that they didn’t contribute to. So much time wasted on the rallies that just didn’t happen! Mentioning a rally doesn’t satisfy an MC romance quotient! So many extra friends and family members that we really didn’t get to know. Crow doesn’t even meet her family until the end of the book, despite so much emphasis on how close Angie is to her family. Crow’s backstory seemed to diverge quite a bit from what we’ve learned about him in previous books (the scar on his belly from his assault in Arizona, which we’ve heard about constantly, was barely discussed in a single paragraph) and the presence of his family in this book seemed to serve only as an attempt for Chiah to throw us off the scent, rather than get to know Crow. The “mystery” was half-baked and rather than adding suspense, it was just eye-roll inducing. I figured out who the bad guy was about halfway into the book, and the way the citizens reacted, not to mention basically no M.C. involvement, was baffling. I see Diesel is coming up next for the Insurgents M.C., and I’ll be honest, the book description, plus the sudden introduction of a character who seemingly appears out of thin air other than a few random mentions, does not have me feeling good. I imagine Eagle is probably up next for the Night Rebels. Please, keep the romance and the M.C. at the forefront and don’t get carried away trying to trick us.
I love Chiah Wilder's writing, as she can write the hell out of MC romance, so trust me when I say that Crow is very different from what she usually writes, and I LOVED it! Angie was about to get married when she came upon a scene before her wedding that destroyed her heart, and has left her with trust issues. Luckily, her job takes a lot of her time so she doesn't sit & think about romantic things that often. Crow is a member of the Night Rebels MC, who also had his heart stomped on, so he has no desire to ever be in another relationship, however, both of these people aren't immune to fate. See, fate keeps having them run into each other, and while Angie is doing her best to not give him the time of day, they have a connection that won't be denied for very long. On top of this situation, there's a person out there murdering people right & left, and now has Angie in their sights so now they have to figure out who this person is before it's too late. This story was impossible to put down, so I finished it in one sitting as I had to know all the answers the moment I opened it so it's safe to say I LOVED IT HARD! And that's all that I'll say about that, and finish with HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING TO ALL!
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, suspense, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Steel (Night Rebels MC #1) Muerto (Night Rebels MC #2) Diablo (Night Rebels MC #3) Goldie (Night Rebels MC #4) Paco (Night Rebels MC #5) Sangre (Night Rebels MC #6)
This is Angie and Crow’s story. Neither one of these two are looking for a relationship. But the pull between them is strong. She fights it with everything she has after all she was almost married to a man that could not keep it in his pants, she does not need another go around. But when danger comes to her, she is willing to have him protect her? Can he get her to trust him long another for him to keep her alive? Will being with him show her a different side to him? One she is falling for. What will happen when the danger passes? Do they have a future together?
Crow and Angie's story is an epic one. Chiah has really built the suspence with this one. It's action packed, and full of NRMC goodness, not to mention hotter than Hell.
Crow is a member of the Nights Rebels and lives for his brothers, already been bitten once brother promise of a love and happily ever after, he isn't prepared to let himself go through that again, that is until a hot HUD agent walks into his sisters apartment building.
Devastated by the betrayle of her best friend and very nearly husband Angie packs up and moves to Alina to be with her family, adamant that love is just a word and determined to not make the same mistake twice, Angie throws hers self intoned job as a HUD agent. But things aren't going as smoothly as she hoped.
A string of Murders has her feeling on edge. But the one person she didn't expect to coming running to her aid was the one person she was trying to avoid.
This book is full of danger, gossip and new beginnings. Crow sees Angie and he simply cannot let her go. Angie wants love, real love. She is afraid but yet curious. The storyline is so full of brothers, loyalty and family. Excellent writing.
~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Crow and Angie's connection is automatic although they both don't understand and try to fight it. This book had me guessing about the "shadow man" until the very end. I loved the story, at times it seemed the story dragged but overall it was a great story. I loved Crow and how he was just who he was and made no apologies. Angie seemed so scared of everything and not a very strong woman. As always I love these MC characters and how they all are there when Crow needs them.
Crow's book started out differently for me but in a good way. The build up towards Angie and Crow's relationship was slow moving but then you have two people who been hurt bad before.
Has the reader I love the way the Homeless paid a big part in Angie and Crow's story. The author brought forward the homeless situation, how they treat by society today . Crow showing respect for them was a major plus, Angie trying to better the lives of those in low income rentals. These two topics are always in the media and very important.
Not going to tell you about the book because it will spoil it for the readers. Let's say you get your MC romance and a mystery to solve. HAPPY READING! 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
This is the ninth book in this fascinating series and is Crow and Angie’s story. Crow enjoys his life with his MC, having any woman he wants, and no commitments. Angie is on the verge of being married when she comes across a scene which turns her off men and relationships, so she moves to take a job with the housing department. When Crow and Angie cross paths there is an instant connection between them, and when she becomes the target of a killer, he will do whatever he must to protect and keep her safe. This is a well written story with mystery, drama, suspense, intrigue, twists, secrets, family, emotions, danger, and love, which leads to a riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Crow & Angie both carry the scars of their past and neither is looking for anyone new. But fate has different plans and constantly throws them in each others paths. Eventually agreeing to meet up a relationship slowly developed, a few bumps but the author takes the time to build the characters and stays true to them. When Angie is threatened and a murderer in the community this story had a perfect balance of romance & suspense with some interesting side characters. The story although based in the MC world it focused largely on Crow & Angie and their brothers/family members. Loved everything and excited for the next book in the series.
It was kinda all over the place..... WAY TOO MANY CHARACTERS. There were so many that you read about a few in the beginning and then they dropped out of the story. I wanted to like Angie and Crow but half the book is spent with them having random run ins. Then they both tell themselves they want nothing to do with the other only or love.... couple of pages later and they're back to wanting each other.... then all of a sudden they're together. Very confusing story line. Not necessary having those random chapters from random character POVs. All in all didn't love it and wouldn't read again
I thought Crow was a good story it is book nine in the Nights rebels MC and it can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading them in order . I was drawn in from stat to finish I didn't want to put my kindle down , I really wanted to see what was going to happen and hopeful that the couple would find their happy ending . The chemistry between the couple was off the charts hot I really liked what they had together and I couldn't wait to have more . I'm really looking forward to what's to come by the author . stars 4 hero 4 heroine 4 secondary character 4
This book was so fun to read! Crow and Angie were awesome together. If you like to read murder mystery, then you have to read this book! If you like to laugh and cry with your favorite characters, then you have to read this book! If you love reading about hot MC characters then this is definitely the next book to read! AND if you like to read about sweet HEA , then this book is a definite must read! MD Chiah Wilder is am awesome writer and you will enjoy reading this book. Go now and get your book !
I liked this book but gave it three stars because I didn’t find myself immersed in the book. Interesting plot but I thought the characters, especially Crow could have been better developed, not enough backstory or depth to his character. When I read a book, I want to feel like I am actually in the room with the characters and I can feel what they’re feeling. For some reason this author’s style felt too emotionally distant for me, felt like I was observing the characters from afar. This is my first book by this author and it will unfortunately be my last.
OMG, loved this book. It gave me another version of MC life. Instead of rival clubs this was a biker serial killer murder mystery and Chiah had me guessing till the very end. Such a refreshing MC novel with a different twist, it will have you on the edge of your seat and like me trying to pinpoint the guilty person, my mind kept changing lol well done 👍 would 100% recommend this book to everyone ❤️
Crow meets Angie on a random run for food. I like how the relationship was developed slowly between the two characters. The suspense ramps up as the "shadow man" continues killing homeless men including a friend of Crow's and a disabled man that was friends with both. There were twists and turns all throughout the book. I suspected different characters of being the killer and was shocked how the murderer was caught. Cannot wait for Diesel's story.
This was a terrific story, and a great addition to the series. I was a bit surprised that it didn't include the other old ladies or the rest of the club as much as the previous stories had. Although there was horrible and tragic circumstances in the story, I liked the suspenseful aspect of the book. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
Chiah Wilder spins a great story packed with hot bikers, steamy sexy times, and plot-twisting murder/mysteries here. However I never managed to warm up to Angie and the Chemistry between the two was a little iffy at times, the plot itself was really good and how it had you guessing who the shadow man was, what an awesome twist. This one may not have been a favorite of mine, but, still loving the series.
Dam this book was Awesome and Hot. This is the first time reading from Chiah Wilder. I believe I just found my next author. I loved everything about this book. Crow and Angie are perfect for each other. They both had their heart broken and gave up on love. The author had me guessing on who the killer was. You'll never believe who it is. I was crying, laughing and fallen in love with these characters. I can't wait to see what happens next.
This book has good drama. I liked these two together. I didn't figure out really until the ending who the psycho was. Kept thinking is was this person then that person. All I knew was he didn't know her name at first so I got rid of a lot of people that way lol. The only part I missed was she never went to the clubhouse. So she didn't see what really went on there with the parties and skanks.
Crow and Angie have been hurt by those past, however fate keeps putting them in each other's past. A killer is on the lose and has Angie in his sights and Crow will do anything to protect her. Their journey is action packed, mysterious, suspenseful, steamy. I laughed, my heart broke and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see how their story would end.
This book grabbed me, left me feeling sorry for the characters and had me guessing who did it!! This book was a little different than other MC books. I highly recommend it. For those who also like Murder Mystery this book is for you. All the Night Rebel books are great so if you haven't read them now is a great time to start.
An intense story. Angie and Crow both had their pasts to overcome to find love. Danger surrounded both, helping them to realize what they wanted. I held my breath a couple times, smiled, and swooned as their journey progressed. I enjoyed this gritty tale.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
