Stone Society #15

Rate this book
It all comes down to this.

When Rafael’s family is in danger, he is forced to leave his home, taking his brothers with him, leaving Frey in charge once again. As more lives are threatened, the Clan scrambles for safety, while Julian and Henry fight the hacker with the help of an unlikely source.

A ghost from Lorenzo’s past comes calling, and he must travel to the one place he vowed to never set foot in again – home. Lor is torn. He wants to stay in New Atlanta to guard the children while their parents dodge attacks from the hacker, but a more pressing matter calls him back to Brazil. Will he finally put his past to rest? Or will this urgency bring him peace he never thought he’d find?

While Lorenzo plays a major role, this book is about the Clan as a whole, thus the title. It is a story of love, courage, and hope for a future. One where the new generation leads not only their family, but the world as well.

Faith Gibson's love of books started early on. So much so that she decided to write her own stories. When a college professor told her she had a gift, she took him at his word and put pen to paper (because back then, there were no computers. Shh, we don't mention her age.)

Her love of all things paranormal mixed with crazy dreams led to her first series, The Stone Society, about Gargoyle shifters in search of their mates while protecting humanity from unhinged beasts known as The Unholy. The Hounds of Zeus MC series was born from one of their own being a mate of a Gargoyle. The Rebel Moon Shifters are the next generation, all the kids from the first two series.

Faith also abbles in MM worlds and contemporary suspense, but her first and forever love is fantasy.

When Faith isn’t hard at work on her next story, she can be found reading, cooking, playing in the dirt (planting stuff) or playing with her staffy pup, all while listening to hard rock music.

OMG, I literally cried to see an end to this generation of the Stone Society, although we all know we'll still see them around in the new generation which I hope to the gods Ms. Gibson has already started....lol

Lorenzo aka Lor left his home in Brazil when his mate was forced to marry his older twin. He hasn't been back home or had contact with anyone there in a century. He considers the Stone Society in New Atlanta his family now when out of the blue he gets a call from his mother that his brother has been assasinated and his mate Jordana is in danger. While struggling with this dilemma and his feelings regarding his family and his mate, the rest of the Society has to deal with another threat to their family. Anytime I read any of the books in this series I know it's going to be full of intrigue and mystery and I was not disappointed. Seeing and catching up with the members of the Clan and the new additions was all that and more. Lorenzo's journey was one that was extremely emotional. It was nice reading his story and knowing him better. It seems the Clan can't seem to catch a break though, there seems to always be someone after them and it doesn't seem there will ever be a happily ever after for the Clan. Do not fret though, surprises are there as usual, enjoy the journey. I could read about these characters for as long as this author can turn out the books. The conclusion to this story and the epilogue has me looking forward to the next generation. Hopefully there won't be long to wait

Kudos Ms. Gibson what a transision from one generation to the next. I have been with Rafael and his clan from the start, to see Kaya and his son Bas grown is such a treat even if you did leave me hanging there lol, that's many years that I have followed you and the Stone Society and I can't wait to start the next generation.

Fan-freaking-tastic read!!! I loved how this author really close out all of the individual stores plus given us Lorenzo‘s. I laughed, cried and yelled for joy at some point throughout this book. All of the stone society books came to a conclusion and we get Lorenzo finally reuniting with Jordana in Brazil. Oh boy!! There was some drama there. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!!

Good end to the series - read on KU

This wraps up the Stone Society series but there will be a next generation series. I hope it is back on KU!

We get a little bit of everyone in this story. I believe she touches base with every couple except those in book 14. While I did enjoy spending time with the characters and Lorenzo and his mate were fine, I was more frustrated with the plot and plot holes than in any other book.

To me, it seems this author doesn't research her books well. For example, in Malakai, Kai states it takes 27 hours to fly to Samoa. Even with short layovers, this isn't true. I've flown from Atlanta to the Big Island in Hawaii with a stopover in LA. The flight to LA is about 5 hours. The one from there to the Big Island is a little over 5 hours. A Google search yields the flight time to Samoa is roughly another 5 hours. So, a total of 16 to 17 hours flight time. She even contradicts herself in that book by having Kai's father get to Hawaii faster than the people out of LA. If it took 27 hours to get to Samoa, there is no way he could get to Hawaii before Kai could from Atlanta. There is a similar situation in this book with flight times out of Brazil. The flight times aren't specifically mentioned but the numbers don't add up if you do look them up. She also never factors in how far a business jet can fly without refueling.

That brings me to another point. She doesn't seem to thi k things through. In the book where they know Drago and his funky have messed with their gate entry systems, it doesn't occur to them that if they can do that, they could have hacked their security systems and be listening in to all of their plans. These type things have happened all over this series. By her vocabulary, Ms. Gibson has demonstrated she is educated in ELA but she clearly doesn't have the same grasp on technology.

In this book, Julian is able to track Jordy's phone without her Sim card in it. That isn't possible. And the sim card cannot be tracked by itself. It isn't powered and can't transmit a signal on its own. Sometimes, she remembers clan cars can be tracked by their GPS transponders and sometimes she forgets.

She seems to have done the same with whether a Goyle, which shouldn't be capitalized but is in the series (just like the word man or human isn't capitalized), can father children outside of the mate bond. I'm pretty sure she said it wasn't possible at one point but has shown the opposite in the last few books repeatedly.

Grammatical errors continue, as well. An example in this book is she says one of the kings is going to a World Counsel meeting instead of Council. She needs a better editor and to work on understanding the use of personal pronouns.

I like the core stories and the general premise of this series. I really have enjoyed it but would like to see her research better, talk through her plots with others who can point out glaring errors, hire a better editor, use a more everyday vocabulary as no one speaks in such a dry manner without being made fun of, and write in first person. I also would like it if she dropped the "new" in front of every city name. History, that name is given when a city is built in a new territory with the name of the city in the old one. New York didn't replace an old one in the same spot. It was to copy York from England.

I would like to see her keep the ability to write about 17+ different couples and only have one that seemed similar, use some more advanced vocabulary, write strong alphas with an unerring moral compass, continue to tie in past and future main characters in every book, give us the POVs of a lot of people in the story, have the stories take place all over the world, give us a wide variety of different personalities in our heroines, give us more kids with special abilities, and go back to Kindle Unlimited.

Stone Society (Stone Society book 15) by Faith Gibson. Lor aka Lorenzo left his home in Brazil when his mate was married to his older brother. He hasn't been back home or had contact with anyone in a century. Out of the blue he gets a call from his mother that his brother has been killed and his mate Jordana is in danger. While struggling with this dilemma and his feelings regarding his family and his mate, the rest of the Society has to deal with another threat to their family. Anytime I read any of these books in this series I know I am going to love it. I was not disappointed. Seeing and catching up with the members of the Clan and the new additions was all that and a bag of chips. Lorenzo's journey was one that was extremely emotional. It was nice reading his back story and knowing him better. It seems the Clan can't seem to catch a break. There seems to always be someone after them and it doesn't seem there will ever be a happily ever after for the Clan. Do not fret. Enjoy the journey.  I could read about these characters for as long as this author can turn out the books. The conclusion to this story and the epilogue has me looking forward to the next generation. Hopefully there will be many more books. Another 5 star read for me.

I have long enjoyed this journey with Raphael and company. I wasn't ready for this to end because it has and continues to bring me hours of pleasure and a safe space when the world around me is in chaos. That being said, this was such a magical book. What a great transition (pun intended) to the next generation. I found this story to be well-grounded in their universe. The logic flowed nicely and there weren’t any major gaps for those who have been following the storyline. For a moment there I wasn’t sure if all the loose ends were going to be tied up nice and neat but again you surprised me and it came together so well. It was great to see glimpses of the whole family and how they’re all doing. It’s nice to just breathe for a moment! Well Done!

I can’t wait for the next installment to begin!

Stoning For The Next Generation

One of my many favorites paranormal beings is the Gargoyles and to find a series that absolutely draws me in is the Stone Society series by Faith Gibson. I've read a few but none had been as world-building with wonderful characters as this series has given to feed my book-loving brain. I've been hooked since the first book and reading the last book in this series would normally sadden me but I can't wait to read the adventures of the next generation Stone Clan.

Stone Society book 15 set closures to our favorite characters and introduced us to the children who will carry on a new adventure into a different world. I can't wait to read the lives of Sebastian, Connor, and the rest of the Stone Clan children. I have FAITH that this next generation will leave me buried in their new world.

He had slot of reasons 4 being pissed off and leaving but he did blame his mate without knowing the facts 1st. When things go really bad he gets a few calls that he tries 2 avoid but once he heard 1 message he has 2 decide if anything is true or this is just another scam. But what he finds out makes him make decisions cause of him tried of fighting his other half and soon realize he was right. But will things go worse when he gets back home and finds out info or is it a trap of some kind after centuries of not talking 2 his family? read it asap and find out!!

Poured on the intrigue

Jordana, the last single female gargoyle in South America, is heartbroken because she being forced into marriage to the older brother of her fated mate Lorenzo, a gargoyle that recently transitioned, just because Lorenzo is not the heir to the throne. As the story progresses finding a way to survive is necessary, a call for help is reluctantly answered, and when the danger gets deeper for his chosen family forgiveness may be the only path to happiness for them both. Faith Gibson poured on the intrigue in Stone Society. While the book follows Jordana and Lorenzo through their path back to each other; we also follow what happens with some of my favorite gargoyles that just happen to find themselves going through some stuff as well. While I do not know if Ms. Gibson has any more books planned for the current generation of gargoyles, I sure hope she has planned books for the next generation so I can see Connor, Bas, and Amelia find love.

This is the 15th and last book in the Stone Society, so there is no need to tell you how awesome the series is or how great the characters are or the world because if you have come this far you already know. Now what you need to know is all the questions about who is behind everything is reveled, even Conner's last picture is brought to the front is the end. The author did an awesome job of ending this series while giving an opening to the new series staring the next generation. This book is a must read as is the whole series.

Amazing read and end to this series. We have all the couples and Lorenzo is reunited with his mate Jordana! We find out Lorenzo is from Brazil and more about his family. We also find out who the hacker is that has been giving Julian and Henry a run for their money. This brings us the conclusion of the adults and a look into the next generation of shifters. Cannot wait for more from Faith Gibson!!!

Lor

Like the story of Lor and Jordana. The whole book was interesting especially the end of telling how things turned out for them all. But it was a little too sexual for my liking.

With this story we get a variety of things. Not only do we get to hear more on the rest of the Stone Society but we also get to get Lorenzo's. He is finally reunited with Jordana.
There are still hurdles for this group to climb but they do it with such veracity. Jordana refuses to give up on Lorenzo even when he is being stubborn.
I loved this book and all of the Stone Society.

Beautiful Ending

This was a awesome book. I loved the way that all of the characters from previous books in the series were written into this book. I love being able to follow each family thru this book and to see the relationships continue to thrive. There was suspense through out the entire book. It kept me visualizing the story as it was told. I definitely would recommend the Stone Society Series to readers along with this last book of the series. I have to say that Faith Gibson is my favorite author who keeps her readers entertained from the beginning of a story to the end.
