I had bigger expectations for Cedric, or maybe it was just not the right moment to read this book. Pity.

Avevo aspettative decisamente piú grandi per il libro su Cedric, ma magari non era soltanto il momento giusto. Peccato.

Not Her Dragon
Female dragons are rare. There are far more male dragons. Usually, female dragons are betrothed with a large bride price. Then protected by family and a magical chastity chain. The chain protected her by castrating the male. The chain stayed in place until triggered by the mating dance of dragons.
Bella does not want to be a coddled, protected dragon. She and her family are staying with her mated brother Eoin and his wife Angie in New Port. She wants the life that allows her freedom, love and choices. Unfortunately, Bella is betrothed to Calix the Handsome. A shy quiet dragon that she might come to love. Then Calix died. Bella is now unmated again and will be auctioned by Harmon the clan leader and father of Calix.
Cedric, the Destroyer of Men, wants a mate. His life is lonely. Cedric almost killed her brother when they battled over Angie. He flies to Bella side and escorts her to the bride auction. There are many unmated dragons ready to bid on Bella. Cedric helps Bella and there is a spark of interest. The auction ends up with Cedric doubling anyone else’s bride price and wins a week to court Bella. How hard can it be to resist a handsome, thoughtful, rich considerate dragon?
The fun begins when Cedric takes Bella to a seaside shifter resort: Drake’s Island and Beach Resort. They meet Chris, a werewolf from Riverbend and his new wife Jade. They decide to go on a boat tour. Cedric gets seasick. Showing off Cedric causes a small tidal wave. Then they get thrown off the island.
But wait…Calix is found alive. What will this mean to Cedric and Bella? Harmon wants Calix to marry Bella. Now is gets complicated. Harmon is a mean cold dragon. He mutilates Bella. Cedric is not giving up. Bella is determined to give Cedric his chance to trigger a mating dance.
This was a fun book to read. Bella wants to be a modern woman, free to choose her own future. Cedric wants a mate. He doesn’t expect Bella to be his equal. She is his everything. This book has it all: a sweet unusual romance, fighting, and unique family dynamics. I love this series. We do get to see a bit of Ryota, the Alpha Wolf of New Port. I want his story!

Great

Fun, interesting, intriguing story. Part of a series and very addictive. Lots of interaction and drama. And Bella is feisty.

This is another great book in this wonderful series! I did NOT like Cedric in Not His Dragon, other than the fact that at least he was honorable; but I did come to like him quite a bit as we saw more of him in some of the other tales. Here we really get to know him, and I was truly impressed with how thoughtful he was as a suitor. Not to mention how forward-thinking his ideas were for someone of his age and upbringing.

Bella was sweet and innocent; and a bit of an idiot, if you ask me. The situations she kept putting herself in were just dumb and basically lead to all of the conflict in the story.

These two do not seem like a very likely match in the beginning, but the more we see them together the more apparent it becomes that they are perfect for one another.

The outside influences here were a bit much for me. There was a scene at the near end which I had a very hard time with. And this was considering it was regarding made-up characters of a fantasy nature! But it really upset me.

Otherwise, however, most of the tail was fun, delightful, and entertaining. I especially enjoyed one of the final hurdles that these two had to overcome, or rather what brought about the resolution (with the help of Bella's parents, no less!).

Seeing prior characters from previous books in the series is always fun, especially when they are viewed in a new light or different situation, as occurred here with several of them. There were also several new characters introduced, ranging from delightful to dreadful. Bob was most definitely my favorite character of the entire book!

I don't know if the author has plans for any additional volumes in this series, but I would love to hear more stories of additional members of the New Port paranormal society — especially Eoin's family — falling in love and being mated!

I received a free eBook copy of this title from the Author, and have willingly provided an honest review.

Bella was always taught that single, female dragons are too rare to be left on their own or to do their own thing. But she longs for freedom. When her betrothed dies, her wedding contract is left in the hands of his greedy father. So, she must be auctioned off or start a war. Now she must spend seven days with Cedric, a dragon they call Killer of Men. He's very wealthy and powerful and could force Bella, but all he wants from her is her love.

I've really enjoyed this series and this book is a prime example of why. I loved Cedric and Bella's story very much and envision a happy future for them. The book was well-written with well-rounded characters, some of whom you'll like and others you won't. This enchanting story drew me in from the start and kept me hooked throughout. This is a fantastic paranormal romance with intrigue, humor, and suspense that is an absolute "can't miss". I'm looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend both book and series which I believe is best read in order.

Luck had changed for Bella, and it seemed for the worse, but surprise! The dragon of her life was just around the corner. I was pleased to see how Bella took her destiny in her hands and raised to the challenge before her. Cedric amazed me. What a change after having given so much trouble. I wouldn't have been surprised if Belle sang to the Beast, I mean, to Cedric, that she was seeing something new in him. Romance was in the air. I was mortified by what happened to Bella and with the betrothed, but someone must do something wrong for the hero to look better. Bella's family made me laugh with their comments and antics and of course they keep me intrigued waiting to see who falls next. I laughed, I was outraged and at the end cheering with the outcome of things. Action, suspense, betrayal, funny scenes, family ties, a despicable villain, violence and romance.

I adore the “Not This” world, and I am so glad that we get to come back to it again. I had a feeling that there was more to Cedric than we'd been able to see so far. I was also pretty sure Bella was going to be a truly remarkable heroine. There's so much that I want to say about this book, that I know I don't dare express, because it's going to spoil all of the amazing surprises contained within this story. It's laugh out loud funny while also being filled with plenty of drama and action, and just a little bit of steam. We get to check back in on some of our favorite previous couples and this book introduces us to a couple of fascinating new characters. I'm not sure where the author is going to take us next, but I can't wait to go for the ride.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.

Loved how strong Bella is. She knows what needs doing and what needs to be done without starting war - no matter if it means a living hell for her for 7 days. She's strong and determined and ignores the posturing of her family and just goes and does it anyway......and in comes Cedric. He wants her but he wants to protect her more. He knows she's his mate but she needs to start the mating dance.....but she doesn't despite his best 'moves' and his bumbling ways in trying to court her.
I loved both these characters as they're not the usual dragons as per Annie Nicholas dragons they're unique and more human and cute than they have any right to be. Love her books and yes I am going to go back to the very beginning and doing a reread. Yes I love these books. Who doesn't?

Love these dragons. This is a part of a series but is easily read as a wonderful stand-alone. Being a fella dragon should be amazing. One, your a dragon. But since females are rare they are protected to the point of extremes. A mate is found by a bride price, auction or war. The female does have some say but she is made to feel like a possession. Bella loves her family even if her brothers drive her crazy. But she will do anything to stop a war and protect them. The story has some amazing characters and really develops the plot. So many small things are added that just help to draw you in. It is filled with adventure and danger. The romance changes as the characters change as well. But can love be found?

Another wonderful story by Annie Nicholas

I'm not the best at reviews, but here goes. My giving a 5 star rating starts with, was it enjoyable enough that I will read again. The answer to this one is yes. I liked the main Dragon couple, Bella and Cedric. They came off as amusing and likeable. I neither found them too over the top or too tepid to be interesting. The plot was well laid out and the actions by each character was reasonable, fun and exciting. The interaction with Bella's family re-introduced characters from earlier books, but it is not necessary to have read the other books first, though you should. The issues brought up about the limited number of female dragons, and the number of unmated siblings, indicates there is material for several more books.

Not Her Dragon was quite an enjoyable read. Bella is brave and independent. She is fiercely protective of her family, and yet she's been shielded from the world in a lot of ways. Cedric knows the cruelty of the world and dragons. He is quick to realize the treasure that Bella is and that she's not just for the taking. Their adventures are not light hearted but full of action and emotion. I found myself definitely on team Bella and couldn't wait until she got to her HEA.

This is part of a series and while you don't have to read the previous books first, you'd have a better feel for the dragons and more background. It had been a while since I read the previous books and so it took me a moment to catch up on the who was who.

Not Her Dragon is book 8 in Annie Nicholas’ Incredibly Enjoyable Paranormal Romance series.

We have met both Cedric and Bella in the previous books, but we become enthralled with their romance in this one! Bella is trying to keep the ‘peace’ in her aggressive dragon family, while Cedric has changed dangerous behavior a bit, since he has recognized Bella as his potential mate.

Bella’s character finds her voice (and her fists lol) as she maneuvers through an antiquated betrothal, unexpectedly detrimental news, and then a blossoming romantic relationship.

Annie again delivers joy, humor, sizzling heat, and love!

Another addition to a great series

Another addition to a great series. I have loved the not this series since the very first book and this just shows that the characters and world are getting more complex and more interesting. Bella is the little sister of Eion who has caught Cedric's eye. The death of her betrothed and an auction later they begin a 7 day courtship as always something outrageous happens to the couple and they have to make a way for their relationship to work. I got this isn't the last of the series hope that the brothers get a day where they find their soul mates.

I'm glad Cedric gets a mate. I think he and Bella will actually make a good pair. I can definitely see them growing together and really falling in love. We see them both grow in this, I just wish we saw a little more. (If I hadn't read the previous books I'm not sure I would hold this opinion. I can tell these characters have grown across the span of the last couple books, but I don't know if I saw any real character development in this as a stand alone) Didn't really get any feels from me. A little one note. Another "true love breaks the spell for the HEA" (I think this is a common trope for this entire series). But idk, fun enough, easy to digest

I really enjoyed this book. Cedric known as the destroyer has been looking a long time for a she dragon. When he has a chance to court Bella he jumps on it. Only problem is he won her at an auction. He really has to prove himself to her. She is strong willed and trained like a warrior. Just as things are going well between them, her betrothed comes back from the grave. But she does not want him she wants Cedric. He will have to save her from her betrothed's father who insists she belongs to his son. Cedric is certainly Bella's hero.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DRAGON LOVE STORY. Poor Bella, that girl is all caught up in in family duty and self sacrifice, yet hankering for a life more modern with freedoms like her dragon girlfriend has.
Beware as there are some laugh out loud moments and lots of chuckles, some tender moments and lots of dragon posturing amongst this adventure for love and life. I just love this series of books, I always look forward to each paranormal story and I think the writing is brilliant. Some sex scenes, not much, mostly 99 % great story. RECOMMENDED.

This is book 8 in the Not This series by Annie Nocholas. While it features many characters from previous books in the series, it can be read as a stand alone.

Bella and Cedric are Cedric are both dragon shifters. She is both young and inexperienced while he is middle aged for a dragon and has a reputation for being cold, calculating and ruthless.

When her fiance disappears and is presumed dead, her fiance's father puts her up for auction and Cedric makes the winning bid which entitles him to woo her for seven days. The resulting story is both endearing and funny.

so, happy for Cedric

but I want more. I want to find her betrothed s mother. I want to
find Bob a happily ever after with a older maybe matriarch. . Samson deserves love but not a Delia la. And, maybe birth rates will change and prove that love and peace produce daughters.
These books may not by new York best sellers list, but they are a nice read. Keep them coming.

Love this series

Great plots, unique characters and tons of laughs! Not silly though the whole series has these subplots of tension, intrigue and family ties that will have you rushing towards the next book needing to know how the others play into the greater story. Each book feels fresh and new. Each has their own HEA but still allows that thread to carry on through the next in the series!!!

Full of action and adventure!

Not Her Dragon is full of action from the beginning to the end. It was fun to see more dragons get added to the storyline.

Enjoyed seeing Bella come into her own. She was able to use all the training her family provided. She gave as good as she got.

Cedric’s character was expounded. We get a much better understanding of his past and present actions.

Great story! Look forward to more dragon drama.

Absolutely loved it. So glad that Cedric was a more progressive dragon and respected Bella’s abilities. Loved that although they were protective Bella’s family had taught her how to fight . Hopefully new generation will enable female dragons to be more free.

I was lucky enough to get a review copy of this book with no obligation to review.

I thoroughly enjoyed the latest book in the Not This series. I feel like I’ve been waiting ages for it, but it was well worth the wait.

We see a whole different side to Cedric in this book and I couldn’t help but love him. And Bella is super fierce and not at all the dragoness she’s “supposed” be.

The twists and turns through out the story kept me hooked and the world building is amazing.

Cedric and Bella are a great couple and I love that fact that her family are so into teaching her to fight.
Cedric shows a totally different side of himself that makes him much more than in previous storylines. Will be wait for the next book.

This was such a fab addition to the series! I loved diving back into this world. Per the previous books, it's full of humour, action, suspense, family drama and steamy romance. Safe to say, you'll laugh out loud and find yourself on the edge of your seat, and everything in between, as you follow their journey and see how things will unfold. Good fun :D

At long last

This was a long time coming & it was worth the wait. Cedric is a grumpy Ole dragon but he's got some more modern views of how things should be. Bella, on the other hand is young & she's lived her life as a sheltered she-dragon, but one that can take care of herself. Their coming together blended old with new as Fate intended.

Laughter, love and poignancy

I have to say that I love the ‘Not This Series’. There hasn’t been one book that I haven’t liked and this one is no exception. Bella is such a feisty heroine and Cedric is a tough but sensitive hero. There are parts of the story that tug at the heartstrings and others that make you laugh. What more can you ask for?

Really enjoyable story!

I loved the characters the most in this book. There was plenty of action too. Bella is an unmated she-dragon with a betrothal contract to Calix, but things are about to change when Cedric steps in to win her as a mate in just one week. What follows are plenty of laughs, some destruction and a good old fashioned love story.

WOW!

I forgot how enjoyable this series is and having read this out of sync, I guess I will HAVE to start at the beginning;). I love Bella and Cedric’s chemistry as things started to heat up and Bella’s growing confidence and her love for Cedric. The humor was great, LOVED the sarcasm and sass, great combination that kept my interest till the very end!
