We sailed the Appledore one Summer in Maine. The builder and owner of Appledore were the crew. Doris, the wife, was very conversational and friendly. It was a lovely evening to sail. Their lives were amazing in all the travels of sailing around the world in their Appledore and raising a family aboard.

This book was partially interesting as I had experienced a two hour sail on the schooner Eastwind recently which was skippered by it's builder and previous owner Herbert Smith and wife Doris. The amazing adventures sailing round the globe three times was fascinating. Herb added many photos from their trips as well.
