Can the most damaged of sins embrace redemption?

By night, fallen angel Triel Ekron is a successful nightclub and restaurant owner in Las Vegas. By day, he enjoys assassinating humans in the most creative of ways.

When his latest mark turns out to be highly gifted in the kitchen, Triel gives her a choice: become his new imprisoned chef, or watch her family be murdered in front of her before she’s killed too. After all, his last chef just met an untimely death—at his hand—and Triel is looking for some new flavors to indulge in.

Cassie Fleming has dreamed her whole life of owning her own restaurant, following in her beloved mother’s footsteps. But when her mother’s murderer finds her in Witness Protection, she’s left with an ultimatum—and saving what’s left of her family is the only option. She’ll do anything for them, including signing away her freedom.

Triel’s brutal demonic side will wage war against Cassie’s kind and forgiving nature, but it’ll take a lot more than the cruelness of a fallen angel to kill her spirit. And no matter how much Triel tries to avoid it, Cassie gets under his skin in a way that makes him question everything he’s believed for so long. Will he put aside his prejudices and admit he’s been wrong about humans all along, or will he destroy the precious gift his father has offered him?

WARNING

There are no heroes in this dark PNR series, only villains. It consists of explicit content, dubious, and graphic situations that some readers might find offensive.

SERIES BLURB

Heaven and Hell weren’t the enemies everyone thought we were. The mortal plane was more like a chessboard. With humans being the pieces and us the players. The divine was more bound by their rules. If there was one thing the seven deadly sins could sense, it was the dark desires of the human soul.

Okay. Okay.
Still trying to catch my breath here.
I thought I was ready.
I was NOT ready!!
Can you ever really be ready for the disgusting and depraved and delicious imaginings of Marissa Honeycutt?

Triel followed Lucifer and was cast from Heaven. As second-in-command, he had built his own hell on Earth in Las Vegas. Every human was something to be toyed with. They were there for his amusement, his pleasure, his punishment. And oh, were his 'punishments' a tale of their own.

Cassie was a sweet girl who only wanted to be a chef and testify against her mother's murderer. Too bad her quest for justice put her in Triel's crosshairs. This kind and forgiving girl ends up at his mercy and quickly finds out he has none.

He brutalizes her. He hurts her. He disrespects her. He punishes her. He unleashes the beast and shows her how cruel he can be. Those scenes, as terrible as they were... that was some fine writing right there. Seriously, Triel's imaginative torture scenes were as beautiful as they were depraved. (Now I'm also thinking of Cole. Dang.)

My thoughts during certain scenes:
* omg
* can humans take that much?
* oh gosh, thankfully it's over
* wait, it's not over???
* after all that, Triel still found it within himself to make things so much worse?
* crashing and clanking noises in my head. Does not compute.
* I can't unsee any of this!

And honestly, I couldn't see how this fallen angel could ever be redeemed. The things he did were beyond compare and how do you even walk back from that? I still don't think he made up for anything, but in order for there to be a somewhat happy ending, I had to let my disbelief go. I had to go with the flow. And Cassie did spark something within Triel. She reminded him of who he used to be. Of who he could be once again. And I guess that has to count for something.

For all dark lovers out there, this is definitely right up your alley. There are no shades of grey. It's all black and inky, full of deadly shadows. It's a horrific paradise!

Dark. Demonic. Deprived. Dirty. God help me, delicious. I knew going in this would be the darkest book in the series. I expect nothing less from the author.

I keep going back and forth between black and pitch black on my dark scale. If you follow me, you know I like the darker, the better. And dark is subjective to the reader. I have zero triggers, so read the warning. I did question my morals. That is why I say Marissa Honeycutt is the queen of darkness.

Landen whimpered. “What are you going to do?” “Have you ever heard of Vlad the Impaler?” Landen nodded. “I taught him everything he knew. Though I’ve made some improvements over the centuries.”

Anytime you mention Vlad the impaler and you have me. I get all excited and giddy.

Triel is better known for his Sin, Gluttony.; A brutal Demon. I intensely disliked him for part of the book and kept wondering how the author would make him redeemable. Five freaking stars on that alone.

Cassie will sacrifice anything for her family. Her love for them runs deep. So far, she is my favorite heroine in the series. My heart broke on several different occasions, for Cassie suffered dearly from Triel.

I kept going back and forth with my rating between four and five stars. My concern is that Triel needed to gravel a little more. What overshadowed that feeling is Cassie is about forgiveness and not giving in to people to find power over her.

The book starts off dark and continues throughout if you want hearts and rainbows. This is not for you. That is okay. However, it is for me. Overall the book sucked me in, and again, with this author, I abandoned all my adult responsibilities. I highly recommend Gluttony.

SPOILERS INCLUDED BELOW

I read a variety of romance books including dark romances and usually by the end of the story if not before hand, I usually like the heroes or at the very least, find them redeemable. The problem with this story is Triel, the so called "hero" is not redeemable. Not even a little bit. Not at all.

He is a repulsive PoS. He abused and raped women before meeting the heroine. Then he abused and raped the heroine. Then he abused and raped more women.
Then he had his 12 demonic bodyguards abuse and rape the heroine while he watched. Triel told his guards, “It is open season on Cassie. Just don’t kill her.”

Did it upset Triel watching Cassie get raped? Nope. Was he feeling jealous and possessive? Not even a little. His reaction? Well he smiled. “I felt nothing but lust as I watched her raped.” Her screams of pain caused him to shiver. He loved the way they caused her pain. “The pain on Cassie’s face almost made me come, hard.”

The 12 guards brutalized Cassie in all ways. Not only that but their demon semen burned her. After the 12 guards finished with Cassie then it was Triel turn again because the heroine having blood and semen dripping out of her holes was too much for Triel. He had to rape her again and again. It didn’t matter that she was a bloody mess. It didn’t matter that she passed out from the pain. Triel forced her to regain conscious each time before raping because it gave him more pleasure when she was in pain. After raping Cassie Triel went and raped another woman.

Eventually Cassie was able to recover mentally and physically. She was working with a childhood friend/crush Cole, who developed feelings for Cassie. To punish Cassie when she disobeyed him, Triel took Cassie and Cole to his torture room. He beat Cole. Then he brutally raped Cassie in front of Cole. Why? “Because I needed an appetizer before killing Cole.”

Triel ripped Cassie’s clothes from her body while in demon form. He had claws. “His blacked coc looked huge next to her but he didn’t care.”

After raping Cassie, Triel ripped Cole’s balls from his body. Then using his powers he made Cole hard. After doing that he ripped the penis from Cole’s body and forced Cassie to put in her vagina. Then Triel raped Cole making Cassie watch. Cole began beginning for death. Triel stated that he would kill Cole if Cassie asked him to. Cole said, “Please. Please Cassie. Let me die.” In response Triel said, “I can do this (rape him) for hours. I just keep growing inside of him.”

Cassie didn’t want to lose Cole but didn’t want him in horrible pain anymore and so she begged Triel to put Cole out of his misery by killing him. Triel’s response? He denied her request. Triel said, “I didn’t promise it would be quick or painless. He is going to drown in his own blood.”

While Cole was dying Triel gripped Cole’s hips and thrusted long and deep. Triel said, “Death makes them squeeze so hard.” Cassie watched as Triel continued to rape a dying Cole. Then Cole dies, making Triel come, and Cassie passes out.

Triel didn’t like it that she passed out. He made Cassie return to consciousness and yelled at her to look at Cole’s body. She refused to open her eyes. Then Triel began beating Cassie with cat-o’-nine tails. He claimed that he would stop if Cassie would look at Cole’s mangled body. Triel whipped her breasts until they were filled with bruises and welts and bleeding. She still wouldn’t open her eyes, so Triel grabbed a cattle prod and abused her breast as well as between her legs.

When Cassie gave in and looked at Cole then Triel raped her some more. After raping Cassie again then Triel went on to rape more women. What a hero he is, right?

I disliked the ending. Triel was allowed to return to heaven without being punished despite all of the people that he raped, tortured and killed. Just wrong. A HEA would be Triel being banished to hell forever and Cassie having her HEA with OM.

Let me catch my breath for a minute……..
……..because Gluttony wasn’t just dark….it was pitch-black…..
……but then again…..it’s written by Marissa Honeycutt,so i should’ve expected it…..right?
Still…….IT HURT LIKE HELL!!!
So….why did i like it this much??
Because, even though it was that dark,it held hope…..
Hope for redemption, hope for justice, hope for a reward for those that deserve it.
But the road towards all that was filled with pain and death.
If you’re strong enough to deal with torture, rape and murder to get to the beautiful, this is the story for you.
Because the beautiful is worth it,trust me!

Read the blurb, heed my warning, and decide if this is the kind of story for you.
And if you go ahead and read it….brace yourself and enjoy!

Too dark. I know the author warned us but Lordy…..that was too much evil to be so easily forgiven. He killed innocents and was allowed to go home to heaven without punishment. Unfair. Plus, he allowed all those demons to rape her and she forgave him. Then killed that nice guy in front of her, cut off his penis, forced her to stick the castrated penis inside of herself, and then HE screwed him in the ass. That was harsh. Unbelievable. But I did finish it.

This book is devilish, divine, creepy, dreadful, chilling and SO MUCH MORE!!. Riveting story that had me sweating with anticipation from page one. The first chapter had my heart hammering inside my chest and I knew my anxiety levels would touch sky high by the time I was done.
But I couldn't put the book down!!
There's the dark, there's the abyss and then there's Marissa Honeycutt, a hardcore dark romance storyteller. A writer sans boundaries, her mighty pen unleashes hell of demonic proportions with this book.

description

She spares no barbarity or ferocity in displaying Gluttony in pure monstrosity. Be it finest food or cruelest afflictions, the over indulgence will be more than you will be able to digest.
She's created a hero who wears villain's garbs. His cruelty knows no bounds, he feeds on human screams and torture. Triel Ekron is a club & restaurant owner but in reality, hellfire personified

“I’m not human, Landen. I’m a fucking demon straight from hell. And gratuitous torture is one of my specialties.”

description

And through it all I'm wondering how will Marissa turn this story around.
So we h0get a catalyst for his redemption in the form of doe-eyed chef, Cassie. Her spirit is human metaphor, that can take extreme beating but if it clings to faith & love, can resist, endure, overcome any evil in this world
pick up the book to find out how humans turn into Devils and find a way home to light when love fills your heart.

"How could a demon regret what he’d done? How could a demon change? His very nature was evil. Demons were not good. "

It shook me to the core, but ends on a befitting finale.

3…2…1… Scream…
Gluttony – Gola 💋 Is indulging your desires worth the punishment? Well, when you are a demon, used to do what you want whenever you want, you certainly don’t worry about consequences. Add to the deadly mix the fact that these humans are so pathetic and weak, the possibilities to inflict pain are endless. What a delicious pleasure their screams will bring.

~"𝑰 𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒏𝒐𝒘. 𝑫𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅? 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝒎𝒆"~

Triel has always indulged into his urges, food, sex and pain are his most sought after pleasures. He has led a life of debauchery on earth, with no regards for the silly humans inhabiting the earth. Triel lives in Vegas, the city of sin, he owns a restaurant whose short lived chefs bring him endless pleasure and clubs that are his playgrounds, his unwilling victims who fall into his trap are none the wiser about what goes on around their little insignificant world.

~ 𝑯𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒊𝒎𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇 𝒂𝒃𝒏𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒆𝒓. 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒕 𝒑𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒐𝒇𝒇. 𝑯𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒅𝒊𝒅𝒏'𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒆𝒍𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒓~

Cassie is a sweet, caring and very talented chef. Her ability in the kitchen is what saves her life, she accepts a deal with Triel in order to protect her family. The formidable man everyone fears has no mercy, he has no time to spare, not does he care what she feels, all he wants from her is her excellent food and her screams of pain. If only life were that easy… our fallen angel will finally have to sing a new tune when he starts feeling things that have no business interfering with his black heart.

This instalment has some heavy darkish hues and albeit I, personally, wouldn’t classify it as dark it definitely has some triggers, it’s violent with some graphic horror moments so if you’re sensitive make sure to check the warnings, don’t go into it with a light heart as Triel will make it his business to shatter it 🔥

Killed my love of the series

*SPOILERS*
This is the fourth book in the Seven Sins series. Each one is written by a different author and can be read as a standalone. However there is an overall story connecting them. Having read the prior three I found I highly enjoyed the first two. The third was ok and unfortunately this one was a huge let down.

I am not opposed to dark stories, I don’t have any triggers. I have read many dark to pitch black stories. This one however became ridiculous. The first three books shared some commonality and continuity. This one completely ignored the others and went entirely in its own direction ruining the common arc between them. In the first three they all shared the idea that for good to be there has to be evil… there is a balance that must take place. Even though the first three sins found redemption in one way or another they all remained as their sins because they had to maintain the balance that was their sacrifice.

SPOILER!

In this one the MMC Triel who was by far the most brutal was forgiven and allowed to return to heaven? When the others who were not as horrible had to remain their sins to keep a balance. Who then took over as gluttony? Also in the others the fallen angels were able to have relationships with humans, in one it mentioned all the demon/human hybrids called carrions. Granted I know an angel and demon are not the same but the others were fallen angels just like Triel yet they did not state they could not have a relationship w/ humans. The ending of this one was hugely unsatisfactory, due to this supposed rule of no angel human mixing… but they could talk and hug.

This is not a romance in the slightest! I can read rape scenes, its uncomfortable but not a trigger. Scenes like that are meant to shock and pull emotion from the reader, whether disgust, sadness etc. in the beginning it occurred with me. The gang rape scene was sickening. But it just kept happening, rape over and over. Heads up there is not one single solitary consensual sex scene in the book! At 60% in I was desensitized and annoyed. That made me stop because I have never felt desensitized by something so horrible. Reading so much of it numbed me. It drew me out of the story. I was reading words by that point not feeling the story. Definitely a first. A good story will suck you in and make you feel. It will allow you to sympathize with the MC and experience emotions. Then if it hits you with a horrific scene it shocks and can cause physical manifestations of emotions. But this story doesn’t allow you to relate or connect before throwing in horror after horror. Its so much less impactful than a good story with one or two terrible scenes. It becomes less shocking, less meaningful and more numbing.

The FMC- Cassie went through absolute hell, unimaginable pain. However she basically forgives and actually falls in love with Triel because he doesn’t brutalize her for a few weeks? I know he was nicer and let her go outside (omg) but to love him after all that and for so little redemption on his part? Then he loses his temper after he is trying to be good and he forcefully sodomizes his friend. Cassie sees this and is upset, but when he explains he did it to protect her well then she thinks thats not so bad. He raped him in protection of her…. Ahh so sweet. Then the senator gets her and surprise… rape and sodomy. After all the horrible deeds, all involved in the atrocities are offered redemption and forgiveness easily if they choose… huh? When Triel forgives Zeke for his part in Cassies abduction and rape with just a “I don’t want to be angry anymore” from zeke then says thanks friend when he offered to help. I just ended up sighing with disappointment. The whole father will forgive anything if only you surrender to him got way to biblical. I actually felt preached to.

Lastly - Michael. He was more present in the life of Triel than the others. Ok you could argue Triel was the worst and needed him the most. But Michael was different than previously. He was all about come home brother we miss you. He pushes Cassie to talk to him when she didn’t want to, which he had to know would anger Triel. He lied to her about Triel knowing he was there (thought angels couldn’t lie). Then goads Triel when he finds them by telling him he is just jealous and has feelings for Cassie. After stoking Triels anger he leaves so she can get gang raped. Michael also saves her life when she tried to end it, knowing the horrors she survived. He wasn’t protecting her or looking after her best interests, he sacrificed her for his brothers redemption. Michael in previous books watched out and loved humans, in this book he loves his brother and uses Cassie to bring him home. Sad I really liked this series up until this one, but now I don’t want to continue.

My mind is blown! This book is definitely not for the faint of heart, that’s for sure!

We have Triel/Gluttony he is not fond of humans at all, he relishes in punishing them and the pain they suffer. He is a restaurant owner but expects zero mistakes. Then we have Cassie, she is a fresh graduate from culinary school, has endured bad things from her past and is a kind soul, by some events, she ends up working for Triel.

There were times I had to put my kindle down because what Cassie endures thanks to Triel, is awful, my respects for that girl and still not break during the punishments inflicted by Triel.

In my eyes, Triel didn’t grovel much I would’ve loved for Cassie to be harsher, but that was not the case, I thinks this is the first book in which I dare say I didn’t like the sexy times, they made me cringe so hard.

It was a fast read, I would love for more plot and redemption.

Ummmm. Full disclosure, I did not like this one.

The subjective part of my brain wants to say that it's because it's 300 pages of r*pe & torture porn and not much else.

But for the more objective opinions you can keep reading.

I don't have issues with trigger warnings in books. I love a good dark romance.

However. This felt different to me because (spoiler-ish) there's not really any kind of relief from the pain. Or a good reason for it.

It features what I think is one of the worst book tropes. The heroine's endless horrific pain and suffering is all in the name of a man getting what he wants. She pays the ultimate price and he gets the happy ending.

What can i say this is everything I love about this authors work!

She knows how to write dark and brutal stories and you just can't help but love her writing the story sucks you in and doesn't let go. Great storyline and charcters for you to hate ( or maybe like) ha ha but I really enjoyed this story right from the start it was one hell of a rollercoaster of a ride I didn't want to end.

Please please read the warning as this book will not be for everyone. But if you have read this authors life of anna series you will enjoy this one.

Is it considered DNF if I skimmed through the end?
I know this book was dark and I went into it ready for that. But holy shit! I rarely ever feel the hero doesn’t deserve a happy ending and I definitely felt it here. After everything he did, only for him to be happy. Nope, just no. He deserved worse, he didn’t even grovel properly. He deserved to suffer. This just felt like torture porn and I hated every second of it.

Before I even dive into my review of this phenomenal read, I have to say if you have ANY triggers please read the warnings and tread lightly.

This isn’t a sunshine and rainbows type of romance, Marissa took me on a wildly dark trip that I couldn’t tear my eyes from at all.

Cassie is a breath of fresh air - she is put thru Hell (no pun intended) but her capability to put herself completely up for sacrifice, even at her breaking point, in order to protect her family is something I haven’t ran across a lot. This woman, I shed more tears than I expected for her and yet still was taken aback with the amount of courage, determination and will she possesses.

Triel is beyond cruel, being the sin of gluttony, he gets off on over indulging on everything. He is one character I was afraid of not seeing him as redeemable, after everything he has done, but Marissa worked her magic and did it well.

The plot is one that will be sticking with me for a long while. Not for the one liners or character chemistry. Marissa took me on a journey of one character’s ability to forgive even after all the unforgivable wrongs that have been done and another character’s ability to find that he can redeem himself after everything he has done.
Yes, this is dark - it’s the darkest of this series so far. But, Marissa wrote this with a finesse though - making Cassie’s hope infectious which in turn kept me engrossed and flipping the pages. I loved that, I loved how she made me think and question certain things. She molded a hero who is completely unredeemable, yet I was able to forgive him by the end - that, in my opinion, is true talent.

This is definitely a story I wasn’t expecting, but one I would read again with any hesitation. Marissa took me on a dark ride full of heart wrenching turbulence and rewarded with the sun once I made it to the heartwarming end. Hands down, this is my favorite read of the series so far.

This book had me in tears. Poor Cassie she dealt with a lot. It was great to see him redeemed but would you really be able to forgive all the pain. What happens now?

The Queen of Darkness never disappoints!

I went into this really not knowing what to expect, if you've read Marissa's books you'll know she likes to test our boundaries, and this book is no different!

We're thrown straight into the action and truly see what a monster Triel is, he is a demon fully intent on taking his anger and pleasure out on any human he feels fit, or even any human that might cross his path, with no second thoughts, in fact he enjoys being the monster and is unapologetic about it 😈

Cassie is unfortunate enough to come onto Triel's radar, but fortunately (or not) for her, he's a demon that enjoys good food 😏 but that's not quite enough to save her from his wrath

I wasn't sure how Marissa was going to be able to make this guy redeemable, but omg she made me fall in love with both Cassie and Triel!

Please please please heed the trigger warnings with this one, it's not for the faint hearted. However, if (like me) you love the darkness, this is definitely one for you!

This is dark. Very dark. Take what you think you know about dark and then multiply it by 10 and you might get an idea of how dark it is. But that is where Marissa Honeycutt excels. She finds those dark corners and shines some light into them and brings out the stories that live there.

I have to admit, I am still not sure about all the feelings this book stirred up in me. I think I have processed it enough and then a minute later, I feel all up in arms about it and a totally different way.

I either love or hate Triel, and in the same breath. He is very much himself at all times. His view of himself does change over time, but he is still very himself. I really enjoyed watching his journey, even as I hated what he was doing and the choices he was making.

Cassie. What can I say about Cassie? She is really strong, even when she doesn't think that she is. I cheered for her and hurt for her all through the book.

Fantastic story. Fantastically dark.

Holy Shit!!! Amazing

Yet another amazing read by Marissa. I have yet to read a book by her that I didn't fall in love with. Marissa is known for her dark and twisted books and once again she has given you just that but with a nice twist of happiness as well.

Whoa! What did I just read?! My mind is blown, my heart is beating fast, and I’m in complete awe of this author. Gluttony is one of the Seven Sins, and this story perfectly depicts why. Triel is an evil man, who does horrible, evil things, but I couldn’t help but love his character. When he comes across Cassie, he doesn’t understand why a part of him feels a “warmth” for her. But that can’t be possible?! Cassie has been in hiding, so when Triel finds her and gives her no options, she knows she must go with him. But what will happen to her if she does?

This story is not for the feint of heart. It has scenes in it that will make you cringe, but it’s also why this story is so entrancing. I literally read this in one sitting, I just couldn’t put it down. While Triel and Cassie are vastly different from each other, somehow they belong to each other. Cassie is kind, while Triel is far from that, but sometimes opposites attract! Prepare yourself for a wild ride of which you will never want to end!

WoW!WoW!Wow! - Lovers of Dark a one click must!

Gluttony is everything and more I adore in this author's writing, Marissa Honeycutt is never afraid to write brutal, violent extreme scenes that grab you by the throat and in a strange way you enjoy every evil word. Although aside from these scenes she also delivers a gripping storyline that I am sure will have you falling for Triel Ekron - the fallen angel.

The storyline goes hard from the first chapter and just keeps spinning you into a hell of torture, horrors and then things change but at what cost, you will not be able to read this in stops and starts because you will need to discover the end game.

Remember, There really is no place like home!
*** Take note this is a dark read and take note of the warnings*** I do hate when reviews say this book is too dark and contains X,Y & Z!

I am shocked and intrigued and completely turned on by Gluttony by Marissa Honeycutt. This dark fallen angel romance was filthy and unapologetically deviant. Set in the city of sin, this story drives deep into the twisted darkness of human and demons. Triel will make you feel enraged and fascinated while Cassie will make you feel complete awe and devotion. This story is not for everyone but if you are brave and open enough, it will be a treat for your twisted mind.

Triel Ekron has chosen to live in earth and continue hating humanity. He run Club Ekron and Restaurant Zuben in Las Vegas. His establishments are renowned for their opulent debauchery in food, sex and entertainment. He never regret being a fallen angel or a demon now. Till he takes the mission to kill Cassie. He hires her for his restaurant and he owns her now. Cassie has to stay here to save herself and her family from danger. But at what cost? Because Triel is ruining her. Damaging her. Hurting her. Using her. When will she break? And will it change something for Triel?

This story is full of triggers so listen to the Author note. Don't be reckless because this story is the darkest of the dark. The evil and vile things Triel do are not for faint hearted. He kills. He takes. He consumes. Without remorse. He snuffs out lives. He forcefully takes pleasure. There are extreme dub con and non con scenes those may be upsetting for you. At times I was starting to doubt if Triel can redeem himself at all. But Cassie made it possible. She is such a force. Strong. Resilient. Fierce. Kind. So kind that she can forgive Triel when she saw him changing. This story shows that even the worst demon can find redemption and forgiveness. His anger obliterated his good parts and he listened to Lucifer but Cassie showed him that humanity is not all bad. Her beautiful heart showed him that his Father created humans for a reason. That ending is unconventional but makes sense in every way. This story did not hold back describing violence or gore or the deviant sex. It was a lusty suspense filled haze from beginning to the end. And the author was successful in making me feel for the most evil demon there.

**4.5 wicked stars**
Holy hellfire this book was unputdownable!
Demons and debauchery, angels and blessings and a sweet lady caught in the middle.
Cassie is a kind person who has had her life turned upside down with the brutal murder of her mother.
Her soul and spirit though are still full of forgiveness and light.
And that right there may be her downfall.
Because her grace attracts demons and angels alike.
Triel is not just a fallen angel but he is a strong demon with many followers.
He is one twisted perverted demonic being.
I guess it was to be expected but I absolutely did not expect ALL that!
Now for the hard part of my review, trying to describe my feelings on Triel and Cassie’s “relationship”.
It’s pitch dark, it’s twisted, it’s vile and depraved and at points I think my heart may have stopped.
It was beyond what my mind could have gone to.
With all that being said yes at times I thought it was freaking hot and absolutely wicked delicious.
So I think I am a bit twisted lol
But I do love dark books and this one was right up there.
Ms. Honeycutt had me gripping my kindle and my blood pounding and heart racing.
Good Lawd that lady has a warped imagination and she had my loving every minute of reading this story.
Along with loving the dark genre I also love PNR and she mixed the two brilliantly!
I have reviewed over a thousand books on Amazon and GR.
With that being said I have never come across a story like this!
It’s original, unique and unpredictable.
The characters are unforgettable each one for their own reasons.
The plot and storyline are utterly stunning, gripping and thrilling.
This book will be forever be ingrained in my mind.
And that’s exactly what a book should do!
It should stay with the reader and no matter how much time has past it will still have you thinking
about it.
You may think it’s too dark, or too controversial or it was everything you wanted but it will linger forever in your mind.
Ms. Honeycutt hats off to you for giving this reader a remarkable story 🖤

I'll start with a trigger warning: There is non-con, dub-con, extreme violence, suicide, and other dark stuff that may and will be triggering to some people, so, if you're not up for that I suggest not going further. But if you like them as much as I then join us!
Having read Marissa before I knew what I was getting myself into, I LOVE the life of Anna (my favorite series in the whole world) so I knew I wouldn't be disappointed, and wow, she surprised me in the best ways!

“Angels didn’t fall in love. Demons didn’t love. period.”

We start the story with Triel, a handsome but very devilish man. He will get what he wants whenever he wants and nothing will stop him, he'll even enjoy your suffering as much as he enjoys human food.
He has a contract to fulfill for a very important person but soon he'll find out it might not be as easy as he thought it would be.
Cassie is on witness protection, her mother's killer wants her to be gone forever because she will testify against him and end his career. But when Triel sees her he finds out she's perfect and warms something inside him with salmon and chocolate soufflé. (Who wouldn't fall for that, huh?)
He will spare her life but at what cost? Is it worth it or would it be better to die?

I loved the book from start to finish, I couldn't stop reading (bathroom breaks were painful, would have kept reading but I read on my computer :P ) I was drawn into this dark and evil man who somehow has a soft spot for this girl, why? He doesn't know but will soon find out feeling things he didn't even know existed.

Love always wins and this wasn't the exception, the way Cassie won Triel's heart made me believe in love again even for the worst people, everyone deserves not only to be loved but to feel it warming your heart. Everyone deserves forgiveness if they want it, even if you've made really poor decisions. Love and repentance will lead to good things if you're looking for them.

Overall I'm really happy and honestly have 0 complaints, only that I would have loved a longer epilogue but that's just me being greedy. I wish I could give more than 5 stars, well done!

Dangerously Dark -
Deliciously Decadent -
Deceptively Devious -
Devilishly Damaged -
Just a few descriptors for Triel Ekron
and Ohhh what a tortured soul he is

Cassie was just minding her own business - reasons for witness protection aside - when she finds herself in a position that tests her ability to let go and forgive - to live and let live
Maybe death is a better choice than being the toy for a demon and his minions

Triel was sent to kill Cassie instead he finds a desire for her that is unnatural and unacceptable.
He will use her to sate his desires -
Gorge himself on her creations from the kitchen as well as her lithe body
Then he will discard her just like all the other disgusting humans that cross his path
After all the world is his for the taking

This is a horror/fantasy/PNR that tells the tale of an angry Demon/Angel(?) and the very motivated (her family's life depends on her submission) Chef who he claims for his own
From the opening scene to the last it had its hooks in me
Even tested some of my limits - though I have a new appreciation for Vlad the impaler
I admit I really really disliked Triel second in command
Triel's brother though (do not want to spoil) Yummmm
This is packed with triggers
Like pitch black all kinds of morally questionable triggers
So if that is not your cuppa...
For the rest of you deviants - This is one dish you will want to taste

DNF @ 70 % WHAT THE HELL?

HE RAPES HER, THEN ALLOWS GANG RAPE ON HER...she somehow (i don't know how) recovers mentally and physically.

she befriends her childhood crush and he rapes her and her friend while killing her friend brutally in front of her.

she tries to kill herself he saves her and cries cus of all the guilt (i don't buy it but okay)
and then starts treating her decently and her heart is softening towards him and she has started giggling in front of him????

That's where I just quit cuz I already know if he apologizes and tells her his sob story of issue with his parents and bad childhood bla bla bla (cliche) then she'll easily forgive him and they'll have a HEA.

SO NO!

WHAT WERE Y'ALL THINKING WHILE RATING THIS BOOK HIGHLY??

I HOPE I NEVER HAVE TO READ THIS AUTHOR AGAIN....GOOD BYE.

I'd almost forgotten what it was like reading a book by Marissa Honeycutt. She does not ease you into the darkness in this book, she dumps you right into the pitch black darkness from the very beginning! I don't know if I've gotten softer, or she's gone darker, but there were a few scenes that had me cringing and were hard to get through. If you have any triggers, you definitely need to heed the warnings on this one!
Triel was absolutely horrid in the beginning of this book. If you read her Life of Anna series, he definitely challenges Devon for the role of worst villain! Of course, he is a demon, so what do you really expect? I'll tell you what I DIDN'T expect though, and that was that he might be able to actually redeem himself!
Cassie was the perfect girl to actually provoke a change in him. I loved her spirit and attitude. If there is an underlying theme or moral in this book, it would have to be forgiveness... forgiveness and love will always lead you home.

Marissa is an amazing story teller, and this book is no different. It was fast paced, and pulls you in from the very beginning, and you have to keep going to see where the story takes you. I loved it, and couldn't put it down, read it in one sitting!
