The Classic Art of Hand Shadows

Rate this book
From Rear Hand shadows are international in interest and appeal to all age groups. Children who see them immediately want to make them. Adults who master them want to try them out on children. The activity is self re-enforcing. The requirements are simple, a light source and a wall or screen to show the projected shadows. Of the 46 animals, birds, and faces illustrated here, some (e.g., a barking dog) are simple, others can be mastered with a bit of practice, and a small number require practice, concentration and finger flexibility denied to all but the double jointed. Common to all is the enjoyment of an activity that has amused children and adults of all cultures for centuries.
