Suzanne Cass has always had a fascination with the tough resilience of people who live in our amazing red-dirt outback country. Much of her adolescence was spent working as a jillaroo in the Snowy Mountains, forming her love of lean, enigmatic, cowboy heroes in wild, passionate, dangerous stories. When not writing about the characters that inhabit her head, Suzanne can be found prowling the Perth beaches with her border collie, or yelling from the sidelines as her two sons play sport. Her debut novel, Island Redemption won the Romance Writers of Australia award for best unpublished romance novel of 2016.

Chasing Bullets is a book about forgiveness and love. Two years ago, after an investigation went wrong, Tara Hunter's partner got shot to save her from the murder. Tara could not handle the situation, so she ran to Byron Bay to start a new life. Tara never expects to see David Cooper. However, she was wrong; one night in the local pub, she saw David Cooper in Byron Bay investigating a crime. Tara did not plan to become involved with David Cooper's investigation; however, she did. The readers of Chasing Bullets will continue to follow David and Tara to find out what happens.

I love Suzanne Cass's books and generally engage with her books from the start. I had trouble engaging with the plot and characters of this book, and I am trying to figure out why. I enjoyed Suzanne Cass's portrayal of her characters and how they interact with each other throughout this book. Chasing Bullets is well-written and researched by Suzanne Cass. I like Suzanne Cass's description of the settings of Chasing Bullets that completed the book's plot.

The readers of Chasing Bullets will learn about the issues Law Enforcement Officers can have when their partners get shot. Also, the readers of Chasing Bullets will learn about living in Bryon Bay.

I recommend this book.

Running from bullets

The author's description of scenes are a vivid that I could smell the green grass, feel the sea breeze, hear the crash if waves and sniff the dank of the basement. The story line is romantic, heart breaking, intense, sad when losing a friend and anxiety provoking when you face a lost love. The element of forgiveness is surprisingly. Rising and appears that the author punitive in as an after thought???? A truly good read, recommended, though I could do without the profanity and use of God's name in vain.

This is such an exciting read. Lots of action and romance, all with the fabulous backdrop of Australia's rugged and beautiful Byron Bay. I'm a sucker for a feisty and strong heroine and that's exactly what I got here. The main character, Tara, will stop at nothing to protect her man. At times I felt like I was watching a movie as I read this book. There's so much going on! And the ending is one that will leave you swooning.

Tara is a strong character

I enjoyed this. Read it in one sitting. Tara has been hiding from her past when it shows up in her present. She was a cop and now she is an adventure tourism guide. The setting is well described and the author uses it well. I could hear the cicadas! The main characters are fully fleshed out, given depth, breadth and are smart. They are like real people, not fluffy as happens so often in romance stories.

'Chasing Bullets' was an interesting, thrilling romance. The storyline was somewhat well written and it played out really well. I enjoyed the characters and the way they balanced out good vs evil/bad. The descriptive way the author writes was incredible. Tara is a bad-ass. I like the strong lead that she portrays and she has reason for who she is and who she has become. A good add to your tbr list. Recommended.

I’m thankful to Voracious Readers Only for the opportunity to read this book. I hate to say it but I was honestly disappointed. There were some minor discrepancies at the beginning in the narrative that put me off. I did finish it however something about the balance of action vs romance just didn’t mesh well. The action was good, the romance was a bit too repetitive.

Tara is an ex-cop that is in Bryon, Australia working as an adventure guide. She is approached by her ex-partner David to guide his team to find a terrorist cell hiding in the jungle. This book is in need of a good proofreading due to many misspelled words but still worth the time to read it.

Exciting pace with characters that come alive. Good plot. Easy to put down when need to and come back to without losing place of action.
