One Army Colonel. One alien leader. One prophecy. The fate of Earth is in their hands. Can they come together in enough time to save it before an old enemy arrives?
Army Ranger Colonel Morgan Langtree has awoken from cryogenic stasis to discover that her own world has become alien to her. Earth, now a virtual Garden of Eden, is both beautiful - and dangerous. Now responsible for all of the survivors of the Area 51 base, Langtree sets out to discover what happened to her world...
...and why they slept for 1,500 years longer than intended.
Following her late commanding officer's instructions, Langtree and her team set off for the Belize Valley Area and the city of Lamanai. She finds a thriving society based on Central American Indians of millennia before in the remains of the city as well as the Lamanai's gods.
Enter Lord Jericho Juriath, the charismatic leader of a race of aliens known as the Allorvians. He has brought the remainder of his people to Earth, a planet his own ancestors helped seed long before the birth of Christ. Earth was to be a safe haven, a thriving planet his people could settle on, disappearing into human society. But, like Colonel Langtree, Juriath has found a world devoid of cities and technology. With too many riddles that need solving - and a prophecy he's not sure he believes in - Juriath is left wondering what happened.
Both leaders are forced to make a choice: forge an alliance with one another or go their own way. Can they move past their differences and find love, securing the prophecy that will save both of their people before the Allorvian's enemies find them? Or are they doomed to repeat history and become slaves to a race older than time?
A perfect blend of adventure, mystery and romance. Humans and the Earth have greatly suffered. Colonel Morgan Langtree and her team are tasked with establishing a safe haven for survivors. Lord Juriath is likewise looking for a home for his people to thrive. Can the opportunity to grow together be accepted or will it be each race for themselves? An intriguing plot, engaging characters and elements of mystery make it hard to put this book down. Thoroughly enjoyable!
If you are a fan of science fiction, mystery, romance and more… this is the book for you. I could hardly put it down. As soon as I thought I knew the direction the story was headed, it would go a completely different but fabulous new way. Such an amazing story with complex characters and the most intriguing plot. Can’t wait to read more!
Received as a complimentary copy via Voracious Readers.
I don't even know how to begin explaining this book! Its truly remarkable how much I loved this concept and these characters! The idea of almost being aliens on your own planet and never knowing what to expect with each discovery made this a fun read. I can honestly say that the moment I got into the storyline, I stayed hooked until the end... and immediately kept trying to scroll for more. The characters felt well rounded and their connections felt genuine and believable. Were there parts that frustrated me? Of course.. most books do. I would highly recommend this book for someone that wants a fun read for anyone that loves connecting to the main characters and loves wondering "what if?".
*****Spoilers:*****
I received this book back in April and was so excited to read it but unforeseen circumstances did not allow me to start this book until yesterday. I'm grateful that my initial excitement didn't waver with time nor were they misplaced. I very much so mean it when I say... I truly loved these characters. It's very nice to see someone write military figures that felt like there roles instead of people that are given ranks with none of the characteristics that become typical for one in the position. Also the use of sign language made my heart happy! Morgan is smart and had a remarkable way of being in control without telling you she was. Its also insanely refreshing to read a character who felt smart and didn't need to tell you how smart she was like far too many other novels do. Her intelligence was so refreshing which made the few annoying things worse because they felt like they went against her character. She would occasionally suggest something alarming (that was often dead accurate) and as soon as her team would start to discuss it, she would dismiss the idea instead of allowing it to be a thought through concept with everyone. Not even to mention at about the 400 pg mark-ish... yall are so smart and know whats happening... so why be stupid..!! ugh... but I get it also... battling your head and heart for people you care about is a struggle which I think was done very well in there individual battles (for lack of a better way to say it without saying it) but the set up to get there frustrated me beyond reason. However, if a book only frustrated me for a few pages out of 500... yeah that's an amazing read. Will definitely pick this up again for a reread in the future and silently pray for a sequel the entire time I do, because, come on... I NEED TO KNOW WHAT COMES NEXT!!!
I really enjoyed this book. It held my interest the whole way through. The writing was good and honestly I have no negative feedback, I just really enjoyed this story!
The world building was scarily something I could see actually happening - certainly the parts about humankind destroying itself!
Highly recommend this book!
I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
I received a copy of the book from Voracious Readers Only. The cover photo is a bit misleading. Yes, the book does involve romance but it’s a post apocalyptic story as well. Our planet was suffering from major natural disasters that would end up causing a mass extinction level event. To ensure the survival of the human race, five hundred people from across the planet are put into stasis, at Area 51, for five hundred years. When the survivors are woken up, they find out they’ve been in stasis for two thousand years. Half of the people perished while in stasis. Morgan has been left in charge of those left alive. When they leave the safety of Area 51, there is no sign of animal or insect life. No signs that civilization ever existed on earth. The survivors split into groups to find out if there is anyone who survived beyond the people in stasis. You’ll have to read the book to get the answers to those questions. I really enjoyed the book and look forward to the next in the series.
This book did not go how I anticipated. Obviously, I expected the romance and the aliens and the Earth-is-not-as-we-know-it part, but some of the other plot twists came as a surprise. I adore how headstrong both Jethro and Morgan are and how that factors into their interactions and romance with each other. I also love how well-connected they both are with their individual groups and the meshing that occurs when the two cultures collide. I will admit that I am not a huge aliens meeting humans person, but this one does it well and in a way that seems plausible.
I will be waiting eagerly for the second book of this series whenever it makes its appearance and thinking about a few of the questions that Freely left unanswered in this book.
This book took me no time at all to read. I had a hard time putting it down. I kept trying to figure out the ending and wanting to know what was going to happen. Which Aliens were inhabiting Earth. Which were good and Which were bad. There was a lot to think about. It kept my attention. If you enjoy sci-fi, romance and a bit of mystery this would be a great book for you to read.
I chose to read and review this book. I enjoyed reading this book. It was very captivating and interesting with a nice plot and characters. It is filled with action and suspense, even a little realistic. I recommend it.
It took me a bit to get fully into it, I had to get about 1/2 way into the book & then it suddenly took off & I’m all the sudden catching the final chapters. The character development is good, & the book is well written, it just took a minute for me.
I have never been interested in sci-fi genre. Reading what this book is about, I wanted to check it out.
I love that this author wrote her story so well, that I can visualize, the story going on. You can picture her characters. I love how it keeps your attention. I highly recommend this book
This science fiction novel was quite enjoyable. It had suspense and romance and a very intetesting story. There is a great cast of characters and I especially liked that the main character was a strong female with integrity.
Loved it! Engaging right from the start! Love me some alien love! Great world building and repainting what earth could look like! Great fantasy/sci-fi read!
Fantastic read, loved the story and the characters - even though this is science fiction the story was 'believable'. Please tell me Book two is not far away I'd love to keep reading this series.
