Are you one of the 1 in 5 women who suffer from a female health disorder? Tired of just managing symptoms? If you are ready to be WELL but don't know where to start, this is the book for you! Alison Buehler used her professional career as a researcher to solve her personal problems. In the process, she dug up every hard to find solution on the most common female health issues facing women throughout their lives. PMS, pregnancy and childbirth, menopause and hormone balance, chronic fatigues, mental health, and autoimmune disorders. This women’s health book covers every issue in a conversational manner that is hard to put down. Your road to feeling good again starts here. Rethinking Women's A Guide To Wellness provides practical and integrative health solutions while addressing what women can do to shift their culture from one that treats disease to one that cultivates wellness for women at every stage of life. Women are beginning to understand that they must find and share their own solutions to health epidemics in order to achieve wellness, rather than relying on an over-industrialized health care system. These stories hold the power to heal women.
The author has done a great job of sharing her journey and expertise with many issues facing woman today from PMS treatment, diet and health, infertility, discussing sexuality with children in a helpful and supportive manner, and her own personal struggles. Not your usual woman's book. This book has something for females of all ages. This is a thoughtful, informative book that shares so much of the author's journey, and it is rare to find an author so willing to expose so much of herself in such an intimate way. I highly recommend this book.
This book gives great insight from a mother's perspective of sexual health and sexuality. I can appreciate how she views these issues through the lens of a parent and the effects of society's misunderstandings on her children. She calls for a societal change in our conversations and views and gives great actionable steps, ie rebirthing ritual around rites of passage, which I love! It is also a book that holds plenty of pertinent education on periods, yeast infections, birth control, etc that is applicable for anyone to further their knowledge re. women's health - men & women alike! It is a book that is easy to read with many laughable lines! I enjoyed it and flew through the pages! Cheers to another Mississippi author!
