Another example of really questionable story but so well-written that it's absolutely annoying, frustrating, but goddamn touching at the same time. If these people do exist in real life, I refuse to give them any sympathy as I honestly don't give a damn about how they screw up their lives and wallow themselves in sentimentalism and excuses or whatever. As fictional characters, well I still think these peeps suck but their life stories and the ways they think and act are so well-portrayed I just can't stop reading and then despise them and sympathize with them and then despise them gaaaahhh.
It's a really well-written book and I really enjoyed it but I refuse to give it anything higher than a 3/5.
In general I liked this book. Even tho it talked a lot about pet play it was not too sexual. But I found the top really unstable and difficult to understand, sometimes he was really affectionate and suddenly he was cold. It was explained in the end but I'm not sure I really bought it. I pitied the bottom a lot and I hope he will live a good life from now on. I also saw that there are other books in the series so I will probably take a look at it.
While this is probably not for everyone and even I kept thinking, "Wow, this is fucked up" if I'm honest I really liked it (mostly because of the fucked-up-ness). I would have liked it even more if we had a chance to really get to see the seme's POV, too - because we don't, the relationship between the two of them seems really unbalanced and unhealthy, especially in the middle. But I liked how she tried to show the psychology behind the pet play. And I did like Yukio a lot. If he was my friend in RL, I'd tell him to run, and run fast, but since this is BL I'm happy for his happy ending.
