Famous Hollywood actress, Paige Kirby, is sick of the limelight. Can’t a woman eat a donut without the tabloids snapping her picture? No matter how hard she tries, Paige can’t outrun the paparazzi. They always find her. After a narrow escape, Paige meets Gerri Wilder, who recommends Bear Paw Protection. A vacation with a well-paid bodyguard might be just the ticket to happiness. And she won’t focus on the gorgeous hunk guarding her no matter how hard it is.
Bear shifter Dev Weaver’s latest assignment didn’t go so well. All he wants to do is lick his wounds and play his guitar. He doesn’t want to babysit another high-strung starlet – even if it would mean a free trip to Hawaii. He has no choice. Gerri Wilder, an old friend of his sleuth, specifically recommended him to Paige Kirby. The bodyguard has no option but to guard a body he’d rather not notice. A beautiful, curvy body he really doesn’t want to notice.
Because Paige isn’t just some spoiled actress – she’s his fated mate, and someone is tracking her every move. Dev is on the case. But could an old enemy of his be the real threat? Time will tell. He just needs to keep Paige alive to see where their romance goes. Hopefully not before their luck runs out.
Milly Taiden (also writes as April Angel) was born in the prettiest part of the Caribbean (to her) known as the Dominican Republic. Currently, she resides in New York City with her husband, bossy young son and their little dog Speedy.
When she’s not working full-time, texting with her best friend Heidi in England, chastising her son for pulling the dog’s ears, shopping with her sister Jewel or watching scary movies with her husband, she can be found writing on her laptop.
She’s addicted to shoes, chocolate, Dunkin Donuts coffee and JIMMY THOMAS covers!!!
Paige Kirby is a famous Hollywood actress who is just sick of the limelight and the total lack of privacy. It feels as if the tabloids are always there snapping a picture and she is unable to outrun the paparazzi. A chance meeting with Gerri WIlderrecommends to her Bear Paw Protection and so she decides on taking a vacation with a bodyguard (and she'll try really hard to not focus on the gorgeous hunk who is guarding her). Dev Weaver is a bear shifter and he is not impressed with his latest assignment - he would rather lick his wounds and play his guitar as opposed to his current assignment babysitting a highly-strung starlet even though it means he gets a free trip to Hawaii. After all, Gerri Wilder is a friend of his sleuth(pack) and she personally recommended him to Paige. So he has no option but to guard a body he'd rather not notice - even if she does have a beautiful and curvy body - because she is not a spoilt actress instead she is his fated mate and someone is tracking her every move. It's just really hard to work out exactly who is tracking her - an old enemy or someone new? If he can keep her alive then they can see where their romance goes.
I really enjoyed this story - it feels like the standard formulaic Paranormal Dating Agency book but there are a few differences that make it different - the musical side of things, the identity of the final person tracking her, and the decision that she makes at the end. I loved the dynamic between Paige and Dev and the way she was just so good at pushing his buttons at how it was never over the limit of what he was prepared to take from her. Cute names she for him! Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.
I received a free review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was an OK shifter romance, but I did have a few issues with it. It gets 3 stars from me.
This book features the typical shifter instalove, and I would have liked a little more backstory on both Dev and Paige. I do always like Gerri Wilder and her matchmaking methods, though.
Dev was OK, but he was hard to like at first. He was just such a grump, and had such a bad attitude about actors. He was determined to assume Paige was just as self-centered and shallow as many other actors he had worked for, and didn't want to admit that she could be his mate.
Paige was likable enough, but I thought she was a bit naive. She should have realized on her own that her agent did not have her best interests at heart, and that he was helping the paparazzi find her.
I also didn't really believe that Paige was in love with Dev. She was definitely in lust, but she wasn't a shifter, so I didn't believe she would fall in love with him so quickly -- but I did like that they had quite a few interests in common.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
Paige is a famous actress in Hollywood who is constantly attacked by paparazzi. It becomes difficult to live a normal life when her picture is always being taken by them. Suddenly, she meets Gerri in a store and helps Paige from her current situation. Gerri suggests that she hire a bodyguard at the Bear Paw Protection to solve her situation. Paige plans to take a vacation away from the chaotic life of being an a famous actress. What she did not see is that her new security is a grumpy and handsome man who will spend the vacation with her. Dev is not looking forward to entertain another famous celebrity especially to spend a vacation with her. He plans to take a rest since his last assignment did not go well but his friend has already booked her so he has no choice but to take the job. Upon meeting his new client, Dev was not expecting to see that the famous actress is his mate. However, a stalker decides to interrupt the happy bubble of the two as they get to know each other. They believe that someone is lurking I like the character development of Dev towards Paige and how he takes his duty seriously for the safety of his mate. The characters have a great chemistry and love their banter. I enjoyed reading the story and I like how Dev and Paige got their HEA by doing what they love.
Paige is a Hollywood actress on the run from paparazzi and happens into a store where Gerri (matchmaker extraordinaire) gets her story and she already has ideas to help the young woman. She sends her to a private security group Bear Paw Protection that assigns Dev Weaver a bear shifter as her bodyguard and he whisks her off to Hawaii they pretend to be newlyweds and enjoy the entertainment the Island has to offer until Dev feels like someone is watching them while they are out and he never once thinks that what is going on is about him rather than her. When strange things start to happen they talked to Casey who is his friend and boss and they do some checking around they realized it is not about her after all. It is a delightful storyline and the characters are very intriguing. Drama, mystery, suspense, and love. I read an ARC via Bookfunnel without obligation. I volunteered an honest review.
This is a good one! I loved it, even if some aspects felt a little rushed. Actors and actresses go through so much more than what is described in the book, but it was still very good. I love Paige's enthusiasm. She's so upbeat about everything it bubbles up, and it's cute. I love Dev, who seems like a complete opposite. He's more pessimistic than Paige. In my opinion, though, if the book was more spot on, Paige should have been more jaded, pessimistic, and demanding. Dev should have been the optimistic, pushy, and determined one with all the connections and insight from being part of a security type firm. But alas, that may have taken too long to right properly, and these books come out pretty regularly. Still, it was a fun read, and I can't wait to see what Gerri is up to next in her matchmaking machinations. So, read for the pleasure, fun, and enjoyment of it.
Paige Kirby needs a vacay from Hollywood. The famous actress can't get a break from the paparazzi. Enter Gerri Wilder. Dev is tasked with guarding a famous actress, something he does not want to do, but he can't refuse his alpha. I wish there was a Gerri Wilder in real life. She is definitely one of my favorite characters. With hidden threats on their fake honeymoon, will Dev and Paige get to explore their mate bond? As a fan of this series, I am enjoying the continued world building of the author. In this story, I liked how the author took a familiar 'fake relationship' trope and put it to work with her characters. This is a fun, adventurous romance with plenty shifter intrigue. I was provided this book through the author in exchange for my honest review.
Wonderful! This is the 38th in the Paranormal Dating Agency series. It's Paige and Dev's story. Paige is an actress who is being hounded by the Paparazzi. Dev is a bear shifter. She comes up with a plan for a bodyguard with the help from Bear and Claw Security. Soon Dev realizing that she is his mate. He needs to protect actress Paige from unknown dangers. Dev needs to figure out who is threatening Paige and how he can will eliminate that threat? Another wonderfully naughty and action packed adventure story. I couldn't put it down. You won't be disappointed in this story. Keep up the awesome work Milly! Can't wait to read the next story in this series.
You will never be disappointed after reading a book set in the PDA World. Gerri is great at 'mate-matching'. A suggestion here or nudge there, then fate takes its' course. Paige and Dev could not have been a worse match, on the surface. But underneath, they are each exactly what the other needs. A brooding bear and a hollywood starlet that complete one another. What will happen when their fake honeymoon turns into more. Mystery, humor, shifters and romance. This is my honest opinion of an advanced copy I received.
I do love the PDA world. Entertaining and enjoyable with a great storyline. It felt romantic, flowed well with wonderful characters that actually get to know each other before having sex. The problem of the stalker/watcher wasn’t fully explained and left discrepancies and questions for me. I also would have liked some comeuppance for Jackson, the conniving manager. Then in ch21, we get a bear that howls, should have been growls. So silly of this author to let stupid things like this bring down the quality of her work. So glad I read these through KU.
Bear and Square: Paranormal Dating Agency Book 38 By Milly Taiden Kindle unlimited purchase Gerri 100% the best at what she does. Finding people their mate and this couple is the next to find theirs. On the run from her fans she hires a bodyguard that her new friend recommended and now they are in Hawaii enjoying the quiet time together. This is a great book. Just two people falling in love. Some drama sprinkled down to keep the story moving along. What will Gerri get her hands in next?
A bear & an actress find each other thanks to Gerri!!! An actress being controlled by her agent. A grumpy bear who doesn't know how to be happy. She escapes & hires a bodyguard to keep her safe. Of course Gerri suggests a security company & that's where she meets Dev.
Off to Hawaii, where Paige, for the first time in ages, comes back to herself. In doing so, she sees Dev truly. Of course Dev already knows that she is his mate. But how to tell a human?
And the story unfolds into a beautiful love story with some intrigue. I love them Milly!!
A female actress runs into an elderly woman matchmaker when she is trying to hide from paparazzi that are following her. The matchmaker gives her the name of a security company that can help keep her safe. The owner of the security company informs one of his men that he will be guarding an actress for at least a week if not two. You will have to read the book to find out what all happens to everyone. There is a kidnapping, stalking and so much more. Happy reading!
Another home run from Milly Taiden’s Gerri Wilder and the Paranormal Dating Agency. It would be amazing to hang out with her as she travels the galaxy finding matches and making happily ever afters come true. As always just the right amount of sex, sass and story. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review but I still buy her books so she can keep writing them for us to enjoy. Loved it.
The actress and the bodyguard. Bodyguard and bear shifter Dev Weaver doesn’t do actresses. No, no, uh, uh. Nothing doing. But when his boss, alpha and best friend is asked for a favor from Geri Wilder, Dev is going to do a bodyguard gig for an actress who just wants to get away from everything. When she turns out to be his mate (sneaky Geri) he’s got to do an attitude check and quick. This is a sweet and sassy story with a grumpy bear and a woman looking for change.
Paige was a Hollywood star but has found the life lonely and the paparazzi are terrible. One accidental encounter with Gerri will change her world. She just needed an escape and sometime to breathe. With a bodyguard suggested by Gerri she will get that break. But things aren’t always as they seem. The story is very sweet and romantic. The bear may know who his mate is but will Paige feel the same way.
He's a bodyguard who wants to have some quiet time but is given an actress to guard, his most hated type of assignment. She's successful and rich which is great but why can't I decide to eat something without the world questioning my life choices. This is a holiday with no limits and no diet but lots of passion. I received this book as an ARC but this is my honest review.
Another PDA tale that delivers a good read! Paige Kirby is an actress who i being hounded by the Paparazzi so she devises a plan to escape them with the help of the Bear and Claw Security in the shape of Dev Weaver. They go to Hawaii as Mr and Mrs but encounter some stalking there. This starts some investigations and reveals some home truths to both of them!
A good read in the series, but then I do enjoy them as they are light and easy reads
Dev and Birdie meet when he comes to protect her. They first bond over her cell phone and a crying baby on the plane. I love the honeymoon in Hawaii and the food and activities. I love how she falls in love and learns how to work with her mate. My favorite parts as a when the sing together and play guitar. I wish that I could have attended the opening of the play.
Paige Kirby is a big movie star, but all she wants is 5 minutes of peace without the media following her. When she runs into Gerri while she's trying to hide from the press, they become good friends.
Gerri recommends a bodyguard service to Paige for the vacation she's always wanted. But leave it to Gerri to find her a mate at the same time.
4.5 Stars Milly Taiden once again provides us with another great addition to the Paranormal Dating Agency series. This book was filled with endearing characters that will keep you entertained along with an engaging story line.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Another fantastic story in the PDA series! Gerri’s “instincts” are spot on again! Paige is everything Dev can’t stand until he gets to know her which is a good thing since he got a surprise when he first seen her! Great characters, lots of intrigue, humor, and some funny pet names! Very enjoyable and I highly recommend! Received arc and am voluntarily leaving an honest review
Milly has hit it out of the park with this series. Grumpy bodyguard, Dev is assigned to protect an actress Paige while she is on vacation. What should have been an easy assignment, isn’t. Fake marriage, stalkers and fated mates a great mix. Loved it
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is another addition to the PDA series. It was a very refreshing read. A Hollywood actress who falls in love with her bodyguard. It's a must read, the PDA has taken us all over the world but this one is close. The struggles are close to earth.
Being a Hollywood actor is not all it’s cracked up to be! Having paparazzi chasing you every time you leave your house no matter what you do or where you go is nerve wracking, to say the least! But Gerri has an idea…let’s just hope it works!
This story has it all esp. a very funny human named Paige. Dev was hired to protect her and was not happy that she is a Hollywood actress. His previous ones were bad so lumped them in all together. Paige had everything plan out.
Loved the characters and the storyline and couldn't put it down so it's a well deserved five stars and I would recommend this book to everyone and can't wait to read more in this series
I have always loved Milly’s books. PDA is the most awesome series written. The only bad part is that I cannot put them down until I devour them. Great job as always Milly!
I found this installment to actually be a fun read. The movie star, Paige, literally runs into Gerri while evading the paparazzi. Unbeknownst to her she becomes the next “victim “ in Gerri’s web. Dev avoided Gerri’s web when his boss Casey was caught, it not this time.
One grumpy bear and the star trying to find what she lost. Geri puts them together and we get to watch them discover themselves in paradise. Another great book in the PDA world created by Milly Taiden.
No matter how many of these I read (and I have read them all), they are all unique and very enjoyable. This one was one of my favorites because I like a little animosity that turns into love.
