Krissy Daniels is the author of Average Joe, the Truck Stop Series, L.O.V.E., How To Kill Your Boss, and the Apotheosis Series. Krissy is a writer by night and a sales admin by day. She lives in Seattle with her husband and too many four-legged, furry monsters. The only thing she loves more than curling up with a steamy romance novel is cozying up to her desk and writing her own sexy adventures to share with others.
Thoughts wile reading: Average Joe: Mild spoilers:: Wow. Death opener. After a bullet preface. Then a meet cute of sadness and …… DID WE JUST FADE TO BLACK ?????!!!! This better not be a THING. Nothing makes me DNF like fade to black spice. 🙄 Finally getting a MMC POV and it’s kind of disappointing so far. Ohhhhh. Mystery. What his job ?! Huh. Ohhhhh. So he went to jail for something he didn’t do. Shocking. Love that she owns a bikini bar. So far I’m slightly bored and 60 pages in. Oh. So we have a notion all ex cons are bad. 👍🏼 this will make for a miscommunication trope. 🙄 Wow wow wow. I couldn’t anymore. Too much NOTHING happening. Also, can we talk about the fact that I made it 50% in and they didn’t even talk about what either one actually looks like just generic things like the fact that he’s big and she’s small and the opposite of each other type of vibe. It was pretty boring and semi frustrating the whole miscommunication if we would just get to know each other thing I don’t know I just I wasn’t feeling it.
This had all the makings of an interesting mystery/romance. Motorcycle riding ex-con, forced proximity, quirky FMC, some sort of nefarious plot going on. Sign me up. It went a little off the rails though. The writing didn't suck me in because the lonely ex-con was such a sad puppy following the FMC around even after she was a horrible person to him. On top of that, every time she said don't do something he did it, and she'd be upset and he'd be upset that she was upset. It was an exhausting vicious cycle.
I did truly want to know what Alice was up to and the whole Bill? Larry? thing. I wanted to know what her letter meant, but I couldn't get over how bad the relationship between Marley and Joe was. Marley would literally say she wasn't interested or make a horrible comment about Joe and he would kiss her? He took that as her wanting to be with him?
Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to review this book.
I really enjoyed reading this book. In the beginning we have a story that is a little bit slow but once you get into de mystery of who the characters actually are we get to read a lot of plot twist. I liked the main character who dont need a man and with every chapter you read you get to know why she had the actitud she had. I cant find the word to explain how much i love Joe, that man that never gave up and never took a no for an answer.
If you like to read about a One Night Stand that turned into a romance this is your book. You want a mystery and romance this is the book you are looking for.
This is my first book by Krissy Daniels and I really enjoyed it!!! Can two neighbors who are like night and day have a future together? Such a sweet romance!!! Read and enjoy!!!
What a sweetheart Joe is! Marley lives next door to Joe's aunt who past away. So many secrets, so much passion but will Marley open up her heart and let Joe in. Fast paced and full of steamy goodness.

The WHAT that loudly came outta my mouth at the end of the prologue. I was all in! This one was nonstop go go go! The calm moments were just a build up for the next GO moment. I wanna be careful how I review this, because I really enjoyed all the fun “oh woah” moments as I was reading. Joe isn’t who Marley thinks he is, and Marley has secrets of her own. Not to mention the secrets that surround the both of them. That loud ‘what’ of mine turned into MANY throughout the book! There’s an undeniable pull between them. And it’s apparent from the start. Joe was 100% infatuated by Marley. And while I really did enjoy their push and pull, and the way Joe did everything in his power to make sure he didn’t lose her (physically and emotionally), the world around them ruined their story for me. If it wasn’t one thing, it was another. At the start, I wasn’t really a fan of Marley. She was rude and judgemental towards Joe, but had no problem getting naked for it. And because he was so amused by her and so into her, he looked past it. Joe never hesitated to protect and help her. Even though she was rarely thankful or grateful. There is no such thing as coincidences in this story. But that’s always how Marley saw them. Or, just ignored the issue as if it was no big deal. (Surely a fire is a big deal?) She was bullheaded, and her pride could be the death of her (literally). It had all the right makeup for a great storyline, but there was so much back and forth. I had so much focus on being upset with Marley and her choices, that the excitement was more annoyed than it was meant to be. I never got a true opportunity to enjoy Joe and Marley.
My Favorite Quotes: • “I want to bury my grief in those gorgeous curves.” • “I’m not asking for your heart. Just need to get lost in a soft body for a while.” • “You’re sweet as pie when you’re pissed.” • “Good goddamn answer, neighbor.” • “Been thinking about kissing you all week.” • “Tell me you don’t feel what I feel.” • “Let me give this to you.” • “I see you. You’re trying to hide from me, but I see you.” • “You ever trust me enough to talk about it, I’m here.”
Marley Masters runs a chain of bikini barista stands, supports her elderly neighbor Alice secretly, and has rid her life of all bad boys. She keeps turning down the advances of her neighbor Joe, who is an ex-con. Marley tries to fight her attraction to Joe but it's a losing battle when he makes it clear he's playing for keeps. Joe has tried to ditch his family's curse and after a prison sentence, he's ready to walk the straight and narrow. I liked the characters and how they were developed throughout the story. Both Joe and Marley had a relationship with Alice, but in different ways and I liked how that impacted the story. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.
I won a Goodreads giveaway for a kindle copy! This is a somewhat spicy (3/5 🌶️) romance with some tugging of heart strings, some competitiveness and touch of danger and drama. The beginning is a tad slow, but definitely loved the character development which set up a good ending.
This book was… unique. Not bad, by any means. I LOVE books in dual POV. It’s so refreshing to see both sides of the story instead of guessing.
I honestly really enjoyed Joe. I thought he was sweet, protective and hoooot. I got annoyed with how often Marley was rude to him. But I also understand that was part of building her character.
The spice.. let’s talk about the spice. It was there but lacking? I feel like it wasn’t vivid enough. I feel like it would start to get there and then just cut to a break and new scene.
I also wasn’t a fan of how often something would happen, and then the next thing you know, it’s several days later and the previous thing is never mentioned again. I just feel like I have a lot of unanswered questions after the ending.
Thank you to NetGalley and author Krissy Daniels for a copy of this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Oh, how I wish we could’ve met Alice. I would’ve love to see her relationship with Joe, Marley, and them together!!! Marley has to be the most stubborn women in the world!!!! She has her heart on lockdown that will probably take YEARS to break down. Joe might be the the ex-con everyone looks at differently but his soul and personality are definitely different than other portray him to be. I’m definitely TEAM JOE vs. Marley!
QOTD: Do you have a pet? My A: Yes! Two cats, Luna Mae & Felis Catus 😻 . I'm going to start by saying this is totally a It's Me, Not You, thing I think. I've never really been a fan of anst heavy romances or instant-love romances and those are two big components. I also think the MMC, Joe, came off too strong and slightly creepy at some points (why so many erections, dude?). I know it's fiction, but I kinda couldn't stop thinking that if this happened in real life, I'd be calling the cops. 🤣🤣 The FMC, Marley couldn't decide what she wanted or how she felt the entire book and the emotional whiplash was extreme. Honestly, she was a total bitch at some points and I don't know why Joe bothered. . I liked it enough to get to 70% and then skimmed the rest because it just felt so fast, but so slow. Like so much happened and also nothing really happened. I can't tell if I just wasn't vibing with the book or what. You'll have to read this one yourself to find out! . BLURB: Marley Masters runs a successful chain of bikini barista stands, secretly supports her elderly neighbor, Alice, and has rid her life of bad boys. The ideas are interesting and there are a lot of fun moments in this book, but it’s just not believable for me. The back and forth between Joe and Marley was exhausting and Joe was oblivious to the way Marley treated him, and he did exactly what Marley said not to, and then didn’t know why she was mad? Then there’s Marley. I don’t like her. I kinda wanna see her get eaten by an alligator, to be honest. I just couldn’t get on board with this book, but others may like it just fine!
5 ⭐️s= Perfect story, exciting, engrossing, well developed complex characters, solid plot with few to no holes, descriptive environments and place settings, great mystery elements, realistic dialogue, believable reactions and behaviors, loved this story so much I’d buy it.
4 ⭐️s= Great story, highly entertaining and enjoyable, exciting storyline, well developed characters and settings, a few discrepancies but nothing that can’t be overlooked. Believable actions and reactions, realistic dialogue, a book I would consider buying.
3 ⭐️s= Good but not great story, noticeable discrepancies, grammatical and or spelling errors, undeveloped characters or unbelievable behaviors but still readable. Nothing majorly wrong with the story, just not interesting enough for me to continue. Would not buy the book.
2 ⭐️s= Not offended by the story, but not interested enough to finish. Unbelievable characters, poor writing, many mistakes, big holes or discrepancies, many spelling or grammatical errors, characters not believable, unlikeable or TSTL.
1 ⭐️= Offensive, extremely poor writing, horrible characters, victimization, gaslighting, blatant abuse, unnecessary violence, child endangerment, or any other highly objectionable behaviors by Main characters. Would never buy this book, and do not recommend it to anyone.

I'm honestly not really sure how I feel about this book. The ending was very sweet but I feel like there was so much left unanswered and so many holes in this store. For a *sexy* book it didn't really feel that sexy it was more action I guess? The main character Marley is pretty insufferable for most of the book - I understand why but it gets so annoying and repitive. She constantly talks down to Joe becuase he's an ex-con. She has ZERO idea through almost the entire book as to why he was even in jail but it doesn't seem to matter to her. This man is head over heels for her and the only thing she cares about is that he's an ex con.
There were so many questions left unanswered too. Who the hell was Logan Shaw?? Did he die?? Why was that scene even part of the book? It contributed nothing and just was odd. The whole son thing? No explanations? Why did he leave? Why was he the one casing her house?? Is he the one that broke her window or was it someone else? were the pipes that Joe threw out from the basement also full of money? The s*x scenes also seemed to lack what I'm looking for in a fun sexy book. They were very quick not a lot of description or it kind of skipped over it completely and just goes to the next morning.
Overall the book isn't terrible it's an okay book but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to anyone either... I'd like to check out other books from this author and see if this is how they all are or if it's a one time thing

Where to begin? I enjoyed every bit of this gritty, earthy and, to me, very humorous, story. The opening pages drew me right in and I enjoyed the painstaking way the characters were developed. Joe and Marley had each had a relationship with Alice, the matriarch of the story, coming from different perspectives. To Joe, Alice was a loving aunt who helped raise him. To Marley, she was a warmhearted neighbor, drinking buddy, confidant, guide, best friend and so much more. Joe was the “bad” nephew who’d gotten sent to prison for murder. Marley had not had an easy childhood with her criminal father but had been loved and protected by her mother. Marley had experienced enough negative feedback from her former relationships that she’d sworn off actually committing to yet another possible failure. She guarded herself and was very protective of the few friends she allowed in her life. Joe, on the other hand, also had friends, Con and Frank, but they had had a long history together and knew each could count on the other for what was needed. They had a long-standing trust that would continue as they looked out for each other. This was actually quite a page turner and, although I enjoyed how it concluded, I was really pretty sorry to see it end. I’m looking forward to future writings by this author. Won through librarything.com.
Review of Average Joe by Krissy Daniels (Playing Dirty Book 1) * * * * * A fun and action packed naughty neighbours romance with twists, puppies and a really complicated romance!
Marley has been screwed over by men. They all hurt her and they all leave. Her father - a loser and criminal. Her exes. But the one that hurt her the most has her heart truly broken, completely ending her wanting to do with anything towards the opposite sex. Until Joe. When Marley's neighbour and good friend passes away suddenly, she gets another shock to find Alice's nephew to becoming her new neighbour. He's tall, handsome...and recently released from prison! A big no from Marley. However...Joe is persistent. He's a man already dealing with the loss of a woman he loved, a slimy uncle casing the house, and mysterious expensive items turning up in the house. He can handle Marley...and he is determined to have a taste of her again, no matter how many times she tries to deny it. Wannabe mob bosses, family secrets and sexy coffee I wouldn't mind trying!
Really enjoyed this read. Damn these two took forever to really fall for one another and take down those walls, which is what made the read so alluring. Ginger and Bruce are so adorable! I must steal them!
Joseph Kaine is ready for a fresh start, he's ready to shed the shameful legacy of his family, and just be a normal guy for once in his life. And the first thing on his agenda is win the heart of his beautiful neighbor Marley... which becomes his biggest challenge yet!
Average Joe is the story of man that is trying to shed the bad wrap his last name has given him and just live a normal life, a trouble-free life. But then he meets his beautiful neighbor Marley, and the girl screams trouble, the best kind, the kind of trouble he doesn't mind getting into. She is worth it. But he soon learns that he is not the only one she has captured the attention of...
Watching these two tempt one another at every turn was quite mesmerizing, Marley tried to maintain her rule of no bad boys, but Joe made it difficult for her. He knew exactly what he wanted and could see what they could be, so he never gave up, no matter how far she tried to push him away. It was such a fun story to devour, these two made me smile and swoon the whole way through! Highly recommend this one, it's characters will steal your heart and attention the moment they wander onto the page!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
I liked Marley and Joe's story for the most part. From the cover, I thought this would be a hardcore, gritty MC type of book. But really it wasn't. Joe's dad is in a MC, but it doesn't play a big part in the story. The title of the book tell you more about the story than the cover does. Anywhoo, there were parts where Marley truly pissed me off by the way she treated Joe. He did just come off as the average guy trying to rebuild his life after prison (spoiler alert: he didn't do it) and meets Marley who knocks him off his feet. There does seems to be some gaps in the storyline in several places. Something would happened, then it jumps to days later without explanation of said past event. That left me a little confuse. But overall, it was a good book. I loved everything about Joe. He was sweet, caring, protective, etc. Marley was independent, fierce, and generous. Their chemistry was nice and didn't overwhelm the plot, which I liked. Good read.

Thank you NetGallery and the Publisher for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC of this book,
Im a HUGE romance addict, like I devour them, That being said this book did take me a little bit to get through for the main fact that it was so long, boring in some parts, repetitive in others. That being said I do give this book a 4 outta 5 stars,
It had my biggest hits, dual POVs, instant romance, witty banter and some mystery thrown in there. I did not like how the FMC belittled and constantly made rude remarks to the MMC because he was in prison before even speaking to him as to why he was in prison. I also didn't like how long and drawn out some things were, We got to the point as readers that we could guess what was going on, but it took awhile for the author to actually tell us,
Overall if you want a slow but instant love romance with a dash of mystery, then this book is for you!
This is Marley and Joe's story. Marley and Joe both have baggage and they have nothing in common except for Alice who is loving, caring and always there for them. Marley had gone through so much and she has had her fair share of heartbreak and now her walls are so high that only a few special people were aloud in. Joe has recently been released from prison and now he wants to move forward and get his life back on track. Marley and Joe have great chemistry between them right from the start but Marley is a hard but to crack and Joe is determined to break down her walls and show her that he is there for her and not going anywhere and they go through many ups and downs and are so perfect for each other but will it be enough for them to have a future together only time will tell what the outcome will be for them. This is the first book that I have read by this author but definitely not the last as it was so well written and worth reading.
Wow. This book was steaming hot. I love Joe so much, that I want a Joe in my life. Marley was great with her spark and attitude. Together? They were totally combustible. Right for each other in every way. Couldn't get enough of them, or the story that was told. I want more of these characters!
Especially of Dillian and his monster. Now there's a story to be told there. And I need it so bad. They are great together too.
I want more, I just want more! 😩 This was beautifully wrote and I need more like it with some of these characters please. I would love that. I stayed up all night reading this book... that's how damn good it was. 👏 Why can't there be more books out there like this one?
Now I have a book hangover... I need more in the worst way.

Entertaining, steamy, unpredictable and unique all describe this book. Two people who have been through life’s wringer end up as neighbours, (perhaps by some divine intervention or with a little nudge by someone they both loved, Alice). While Marley does her best to stay away from and avoid her hot, bad-boy neighbour, Joe does his best to get closer than close to Marley. Joe is one very persistent alpha male who is determined to claim the woman who makes him feel truly alive. Marley is passionate, unpredictable, sexy and determined to resist Joe’s advances. She is also a proud mama bear and has a fiery temper, as Joe discovers. Their story is tumultuous, captivating and well worth reading. The conclusion is hilarious and beyond satisfying.

A romantic novel written from the point of view of the two main characters Joe and Marley. Marley’s friend and neighbour Alice dies suddenly and her nephew comes to live in Alice’s house. There is a bit of chemistry going on between joe and Marley but she doesn’t want to get involved as she discovers joe is an ex con and Marley think he is nothing but bad news.
There are some very interesting characters and humour though not everything is what they seem. As well as a steamy will they won’t they romance there is a bit of under lying intrigue going on.
Reasonable read but the main story is very repetitive and make it a bit slow going as you lose interest a bit.

I "met" Krissy Daniels through Facebook, and fell in love with her Truck Stop series. And I have to say in capital letters AVERAGE JOE is just as FANTASTIC, if not better!! The characters are well written, the suspense is intense, and who doesn't love dogs!!!!! Such an amazing story. The hero is totally ALPHA, sexy as all get out, protective and sometimes an A-hole, but with good intentions. The heroine is sexy, smart, fierce and as stated in the story, a BADA$$!!! I will happily read this book multiple times just as I have done with all of Krissy Daniels books!! FANTASTIC JOB!!!! Certainly looking forward to the rest of the series!!
A bitter sweet start to this story. As I read I was really not liking Marley at all. I could understand her fears but boy did I want to yell at her to get over it! Joe despite his lost years & stigma was as sweet as they come. The fact that he won't give up & had to endure being cut down so many time just melted my heart for him. Eventually of course rooting for this couple and for their HEA. Super set of characters that make the story better. Excellent chemistry & crazy adventures.

The banter had me laughing out loud. I also enjoyed the dual POV. The MMCs were very likeable with Joe being all alpha and protective, while Marley was so ME! Rude AF, hard-headed, but swoons easily.
My dislikes: The spicy scenes were lacking a lot, felt like I got the beginning, skipped the middle, and jumped straight to the ending. The plot seemed choppy, like if something would happen and I'd be all psyched for the result, but NOPE, we're already into next week...... So that was a bummer.
The summary made me really excited to read the book. I really liked the writing style. That made it a pleasure to read. I struggled with the main character Marley. I get that she wanted to protect herself but sometimes it bothered how judgmental she was towards Joe because he was "only" released from prison.

This book through me for a loop or seven. I fell in love with Marley and her stubborn secrets and Joe just warmed my heart. I think this is the first book that I have read where the FMC is the one with major commitment issues and a temper to match. I fell in love with the development and puppies make every page of this book enjoyable. It teaches you not to judge a book by its cover and to always offer someone the opportunity to explain their past before making assumptions. I did thoroughly enjoy this book.
Joe is the sexy just out of prison bad boy and Marley has sworn off men just like him but when he moves next door in his deceased aunts home it is too hard to not take notice of the big sexy man. Loved the banter between Marley and Joe and add in some suspense and twists this is one book that was hard to put down.
