Kallestad and Breen seek to simplify the discipleship process and church growth into memorable shapes which help people to remember what we are seeking to accomplish as disciples of Jesus. Overall, it is fine as another way to seek to make disciples. I did not agree with their understanding of Ephesians 4:11 - some are called to be leaders in the church, not all. Not everyone will have the five gifts which they use. However, there were many worthwhile considerations in seeking to use one's gifts and growing in the Lord throughout the book.

I have to say, I read this book really quickly and found it incredibly engaging. My wish was that I was still pastoring a church. The life shape models are really beneficial. I am also always interested as to why those that have been in ministry for a long time and write these types of books move away from formal ministry in their perception as to what grows the kingdom and moves more into the community based model And understanding that that is what grows the kingdom. This is a great book for any pastor that wants to see the church grow in a healthy way.

This was a pretty easy read with some interesting ideas on growing a church. I especially appreciated the thoughts on personal evangelism and how they made it less intimidating. It made me think without using really challenging words.
