Deep Changes: When the gospel transforms what the heart desires

Rate this book
Looking at Jonah's life, we discover something as puzzling as it is We can obey without changing. We can tell others about the love of God without feeling love for others. We can do spiritual things without being a spiritual person. We can change our behavior on the outside without changing our deepest desires on the inside.

Unfortunately, many times change is seeing just as a transformation of our behavior. I change when I don´t scream to my spouse anymore. I change when I cease consuming pornography. I change when I turn off the TV and I start reading the Bible. The result of real change is a change of behavior but at the same time, real change is something much deeper. It is not just to stop doing something bad and to start doing something good. It is to experience a transformation of my deepest desires. It is to change my dreams, my hopes, my ambitions, my passions. It is to change what my heart enjoys AND as a result of that change, to change the way I live.

How do we change like that? That is the challenge of this book. God is graciously condescending to use this book to change lives all around Latin America and the Arab world. It addresses the core matter of spirituality—the quality, source, and vitality of your life under God which overflows into all your relationships and responsibilities. I encourage you to read it in order to ‘change the way you change.’
