Pirate Palooza is the second book in a full-color series of riotous, riproaring graphic novels that chronicles the zany of adventures of a quicktempered and quick-witted young rabbit.
Erik Craddock grew up during the ’80s and ’90s on a steady diet of comics, video games, and pop culture. It was during his time as a student at New York City’s School of Visual Arts that Stone Rabbit was born. He lives in Babylon, New York.
In this story, the rabbit’s friend accidentally broke the table’s leg, and it decide to buy a new leg for the table. But actually, the leg is a blue pirate’s leg, and he carry the rabbit and it’s friend to his ship, in the sky ocean. And under the ocean, there’s a lot of dangerous fish. Succdently, an other red pirate lead his ship to against the blue pirate’s ship. And they have a fight. Finally, the rabbit and the blue pirate win, and the red pirate except. The blue pirate is very angry that the rabbit’s friend let the red pirate go, so the blue pirate want to punch the rabbit’s friend. And then the rabbit let a magic fish out and eat the blue pirate.
In Erik Craddock's book "Pirate Palooza". Stone rabbit and his friend Dog Andy summoned the pirate captain Barnacle Bob that already dead. So they forced to work on Bob's ship. After beat an enemy ship, rabbit and Andy got a chance to escape, they came back to earth, use a whistle beat captain Bob. The plot of this story is too common, the author could be more creative.
Colorful, child-friendly, and reads like a cartoon episode. I didn't care much for it, which wasn't surprising, but I screen all graphic novels before my kids read them so I had to give it a chance. I did, however, appreciate the ingenuity of using a pirate leg to replace a coffee table leg. My son will probably like the story. I'm meeting halfway with 3 stars.
The title of this book is: Pirate Palooza, by Erik Craddock. This book is very interesting and funny. It tells the story of a little bunny and his friend on an adventure on a pirate ship. There is a lot of fighting between rabbits and pirates. I love it, because it always makes my happy.
2.5 as I am not the intended audience but it was too crazy and too all over the place for me...I felt like the comics themselves were fine but the story was lacking.
My one comfort is that even if my son doesn't get sick of this series, in a just a few more they will run out and by necessity he will have to move on to something else.
Pirate Palooza is another fun Stone Rabbit book. He is on another wild ride as his best friend, Andy, and he take on a bunch of ghostly pirates. Just when you think they are about to be saved by Admiral Demski and the royal fleet, Stone Rabbit, who is mistaken to be one of the pirates, accidentally causes one of the good guys to dissipate. This only causes more problems for Stone Rabbit. Can he never get a break?
The artwork in Pirate Palooza is wonderful and I found easier to follow than BC Mambo. The storyline moves along at break-neck speed and is extremely entertaining. The coloring is quite wonderful and the vivid coloring jumps right off the page.
Early Chapter readers, especially young boys, will really get a kick out of this book and series. Stone Rabbit is a highly likable character and readers will be cheering for him as he fights off the nasty pirates.
Overall, Pirate Palooza is another great graphic novel that is full of intrigue and adventure. Kids will pick up a book like this and read it over and over, taking in not only the words, but all of the action until they have memorized the entire book. This is the perfect kind of book to give to an early chapter reader that is struggling with wanting to read.
I bet something exciting happens to Stone Rabbit in his next book, Deep-Space Disco. Sounds like it is time to dance! Let's boogie!
Stone Rabbit is a graphic novel by Eric Craddock that provides exciting, full-color comic panels throughout. The story begins with two friends wrestling and one breaks the table leg andthey go in search to buy a new leg. On thier way they find a cursed pirate leg and try to use it to fix a broken coffee table and the chaos and ghostly pirate that results. This book contains great vocabulary and would be great for teaching dialogue or readers theater.
This is a funny and fabulous first chapter book Graphic Novel. I was spliting my side and now need an excuse to say to someone,"Hey if we survive this how about I buy you a nice hot cup of "shut your mouth and keep on rowing"". I just know that one day I will have the perfect opportunity to say that right? Grades 2+
O.K. , this one is slightly better than the first one. Hey it has a comic book guy store owner as a character. How bad can it be ? Same plot as book one, rabbit goes to pirate land this time , but with wolf boy this time. The art is all right and the rabbit looks like the one from Trix. A scurvy pirate even calls him silly rabbit. I feel silly for reading these, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
This book was very gripping, and at every moment of it, I couldn't wait to turn the page! When I first picked up this book, just by the cover, I immediately attached to it. Since I also read the first book, I knew this one would be even better, and in the end, I wasn't disappointed! The character traits were spectacular, and just the thought of a rabbit being a pirate is outstanding!
Kind of a POTC rip-off, which left a bad taste in my mouth. Not quite as cute and funny, but just as frenetic, which is not such a good combination. Craddock needs to focus a bit more on the writing if this series is going to survive.
Stone Rabbit's coffee table's one leg broke off. And he replaces it with a pirate peg leg, but this peg leg is cursed and it brings back a pirate from the dead!
Funny book. Just like in the first book, Stone Rabbit doesn't listen. It was a enjoyable read.
This is the first children's graphic novel that I have ever read, funny, exciting and fun to read.
This book would definitely be recommended towards early readers, maybe in the 3rd - 4th grade, as they would definitely appreciate the humor and jokes in the book.
