This Kind of Trouble Is Lots of Fun!
4.5 stars - Wow! This is a unique read, from my perspective, in many ways. I don't want to give anything away but let's just say that Samantha finds herself with four Doms who are set on training her. The trouble is that she's not a typical sub and that challenges all of them.
This book is crazy hot 🔥🔥🔥 and sometimes just plain crazy. It's a bit dark on occasion with an arranged marriage, addicts, human trafficking, and other related mafia dangers. There is also a cliffhanger that has me needing to see what happens next.
I listened to and read this book. I actually finished the audio a couple of days ago but the last few chapters really needed to be read, too. They are intense, amazing, and scary. (Translation: I ❤ them!)
When it comes to the audio, Alyssa Turner spoils listeners by providing not one, not two, but FOUR narrators! It is nirvana for the ears! 🎙💚🎧 It was narrated by Addison Rose, Jack Walters, Adam Riley, and Veronica Lacroix. 😍😍
I didn't heed the author's suggested reading order, simply because I didn't realize there was one until it was too late, but I wish I had. 😏 I read or listened in a seemingly logical way but there are three smaller series interconnected and book one of each should be read before the book twos are started. Here's the suggested reading order:
1. Polished, Polished bk 1
2. Unmeasured, Unmatched bk 1
3. Make Me
4. Swept, Polished bk 2
5. Unleashed, Unmatched bk 2
6. Uncontested, Unmatched bk 3 (releases 3/8/22)

This book has me wishing I could hop on a plane and head straight to Paris. I am all in for these 4 hunky doms and they know just how to treat Samantha oh so right. I love that this isn't just a straightforward reverse harem romance, there is mystery, depth, angst, anger, power plays, and sooooo much more.

I was totally entranced with this book from the minute I started reading it. I understood each of the characters and the reasons behind who they were and what they were doing. The character development, from the beginning of the story, was extraordinary. Oleg, Henri, Paolo, Ivan and even the elusive Alexander intrigued me right from the start. But, this story is the beginning of Samantha’s submissiveness and Oleg’s need to dominate her.
A woman who has no fear and a man who is unwilling, at first, to show her that she has something to fear from him and each of the Dom’s at Club Duval … that’s the beginning of this wonderful love story. But, what transpires as the story goes on, is what truly matters.
Samantha may finally have found what it is that’s been missing in her life. It takes being taken under the wings of four men for her to find her inner peace. But, she is also a woman with a mind of her own that does not like being told what to do. Unless she hears the words “good girl”. Oleg is loyal to his family … both blood and not. His “brothers” will always come first but he has an obligation to his uncle that can destroy everything that he has built for himself and his brothers. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to get to the man that killed his parents, even marry an addict. Until he meets Samantha … his Lionceau. His world is turned upside down. He’s now truly in debt to his uncle, entrenched deeper into his world. But, it’s worth it to have Samantha call him Master.

I almost gave up on this book because it starts with scenes from the characters lives that seemed to be weird things to show. It turns out that they are setting up the main story and showing us things we need to know. This is not just a book written to be salacious but has many terrific stories weaving their way through it. It ends on a HFN ending and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. This is a book about a real D/s relationship and not just light playing at it so be warned that some of the scenes are very intense, well written but still intense reading. I loved it.

This was my first book by Alyssa and it caught and kept my attention the entire time. I loved the characters, chemistry and the storyline. Looking forward to more books by Alyssa. Amazing narration.

5 Stars. Alyssa Turner’s Unmeasured is a wonderful read. The plotline is plausible and totally enjoyable. Her narrative is such a pleasure to read, it’s engrossing and vivid. I fell right into this story and didn’t want to come out at the end.
The author is so talented at developing her characters. She makes each character multi-dimensional and, as you watch them interact and speak, you easily connect with why they feel and act as they do. The tale involves a special young woman, Samantha, who is, in some ways, rather naïve. She discovers the bdsm lifestyle and is instantly drawn to it. Then she meets the compelling man, Oleg, who becomes her Master as he ushers her into that lifestyle.
The story is saturated through with suspense as the reader learns Samantha’s Master is connected to an organized crime family. That connection figures widely in the plot and threatens the safety and happiness of the main characters and their friends, forcing them to face their deepest fears and greatest flaws. These scenes, while not too dark, conjured up some nail-biting tension for me as I read. Some of the villains are despicable, malicious creatures, and the suspense they created kept me on a knife-edge for lengthy stretches.
Another skill at which Turner excels is writing intensely alluring sex scenes. Some of the activities/scenes the characters indulged in were very unique! All I’ll say is that from sweetly sensual to habanero hot, the author’s sexy creations had me melting right out of my chair.
This is Book 1 of a series and is currently free on KU. You do need to read them in order, and the 1st book does end in a cliffhanger. Book 2, Unleashed, is available to read now. I believe I read somewhere that the author is also working on Book 3. I’ve read a number of Turner’s books and I’ve loved them all. But, for me, Unmeasured tops them all.

Missing the ability to feel fear is a problem when it comes to BDSM. To not have boundaries is just as dangerous. Samantha Hunter is a proverbial poor little rich girl who struggles to fit into her perfect family. She isn't a sociopath or a psychopath. She does not want to kill or torture. She just wants to feel something. She wants to feel alive and pushes the envelope constantly to the consternation of those around her. This technically is not a throwback review for me as I just read it this month. However, it is an older book to a series I'm trying to catch up on so it is appearing on my Throwback Thursday review.

Unmeasured
Wow, this book is just about everything I hope it would be and more. I love the fact that the characters hold your attention. They are all so full of mystery and strength that you can’t help but want to know more about their past. I love that Oleg and Samantha’s is the first we have a glimpse of, although Paolo, Ivan and Henri are also intriguing in their own rights. I have to say I’m very curious about Alexander and Mariel’s relationship too . Most of all I love that all the characters are broken in one way or another. This seems to be their foundation and might be why they all get along well with each other. I’m looking forward to the next book.

WOW, this book is kinky, hot, and steamy. Oleg 's walking that fine line between legal and not, trying to show his loyalty and honor his family's wishes. Samantha is the daredevil she'll try anything take on any challenge, but she always feels like she's missing something. Oleg and his "brothers" are all dominants and Samantha is new to the BDSM lifestyle. Lots of steam, drama, angst, and surprising feelings as they all discover how they fit together. Beware this is a cliffhanger that will have your heart pumping.

Samantha wanted more of something she just wasn’t sure what. When she walks into Oleg’s club sparks fly and the Masters at Club Duval know that they want Samantha. This is a fast-paced off the charts steamy read with loads of drama and suspense. I was hooked from beginning to end and look forward to reading more in the series.

I was able to listen to this audio book and oh my goodness the 4 actor's brought all the characters to life. This story has indepth characters and it's hard review this Reverse Harem and BDSM story. But Samantha a submissive who looks for adrenaline, she wants the thrill the rush, but doesn't see she pushes her limits where she could be potentially harmed. She doesn't quite care. and She meets her new master Olge and his brothers. They each have a BDSM fetish, but know their rules and want to see her happy. but this is the first book of the trilogy and this is very steamy and hot AF.

This review is a bit late posting but as I typically do not read this type genre, I decided to step out of my usual.
I have read one other book by this author and do not enjoy it. However, "Unmeasured" was a very enjoyable listen. The performance by the narrators for the most part was good and based on the plot you could picture the MCs clearly. There was plenty of eroticism and steamy participation amongst the participants. My only dislike was the cliffhanger. Would have rather this concluded in this book.
Well-written and for those who love hot and steamy erotic reading/listening, this is a nice cup of tea😊.

A Russian mafia, BDSM story. Samantha is unable to process fear and she likes to push her limits and decides to try BDSM. Oleg and his 3 friends run a BDSM club and decide to take Samantha as their new submissive. Oleg is also trying to help his family form an alliance with another mafia family to take down the family responsible for his parents death. For me the story was a little disjointed with only minimal cross over between the 2 elements. There is a cliffhanger at the end which is obviously tied to the mafia element but I can’t say it left me having to read the next book immediately.

A new Author
Yes...It's the first book I have read of Alyssa Turner. Of course I didn't know what to expect, halfway through, I realised her writing was more hard-core than I had read before, but wanted to find out what happened at the end....I suggest you also do the same. Now to read Book 2.

I won the audio book during a giveaway and let me tell you I was hooked from chapter 1. Alyssa takes the time to build the characters and the scenes in this book. This is not a quick burn erotica, there is a strong story that plays out with the characters and you can feel the emotions they all go through. When Sam says her safe word, I threw my hand to my mouth and almost cried, it was so raw and emotional I could feel it as if I was there. I highly recommend this book and have already started book 2.

Samantha goes to a sex club and right away has a connection with Oleg..... and then his friends meet her and decide she needs to be his, so they set out to train her as a sub. Henri, Paolo and Ivan all convince her to enter into a contact with them for training. The she has to convince Oleg to also be her teacher. Well the men quickly discover that she has a way of owning them when they think they are owning her. Samantha is a badass! I love her. She is totally reckless and is aware of it, but a lot of times she still cant find it in her to give a fuck! Oleg is 100& possessive from the beginning (even when he is trying to deny he has a connection with her). These 5 are HOT! Like I was sweating! There were so many hot scenes that were sprinkled through the whole thing! And then there is the scene where all 4 men are involved somehow.... and it was fantastic! I am so eager to get to the next one.... beware this does end on a cliffhanger! And the narration was great! They somehow managed to take a 3rd person telling and make you feel like it is the actual characters telling it all from the 1st person.

Let me start by saying I don’t give every book I review a 5star rating - but Unmeasured by Alyssa Turner is everything I wanted from Samantha and Oleg’s story.
This book is wonderfully tittilating and super hot. The scenes between Oleg and Samantha are electric. Samantha has always been out of control and when she meets Oleg, it seems that only he can bring her to heel.
Alyssa is truely a gifted writer, she makes her characters so believable, the setting is exquisitely detailed and plot line is very - stimulating. Alyssa writes the Dominant/submissive relationships with such care, that everyone who reads this book- will find the beauty and strength inherent in all D/s relationships.
Please read this book if you like unconventional love stories, hot couples and lots of bondage.

Well, I made it all the way to 72% before I finally gave up. This just isn’t for me. I’m pretty sure that the female narrator kinda ruined it for me. To me, her voice sounds kinda kid like and since this is erotica, that just doesn’t work for me. She sounds to me like she could be a teenager. I never made a connection with Sam and couldn’t quite understand why she even agreed to being a sub for 4 perfect strangers. Yes, I know she has this “thing” where she can never turn down a dare, but really? Hmmm, didn’t buy it.

I enjoyed this book immensely, the story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it the entire time. Alyssa Turner is a gifted author, she creates stories that are entertaining and high on heat and this book is no exception. This is no ordinary BDSM erotic romance, it is so much more. The characters and world dynamics are complex and well developed. We are first introduced the the characters when they were young, we meet Samantha Hunter at her seventh birthday party when she got herself into some trouble. Her Mom, a senator wanted her to behave a certain way but Samantha was fearless and she did what she wanted without any regards. We then get a glimpse into the brotherhood of five, Oleg, Henri, Paolo, Ivan and his older brother Alexander, they lived together at the Duval House while attending school, Lycée Militaire de Navarre. The story picks up ten years later, the brotherhood of five’s bond is stronger than ever, in addition to successful careers they are Masters of the Club Duval. And when Samantha walks in their club not only is she enthralled by what she sees she also catches their attention. Oleg has connections to the boss of the Russian syndicate, Dimitri Balashov, he owes him a debt and is repaying that debt with an arranged marriage to the daughter of the Armenian mob boss for a power play. But Samantha throws him off of his game. There is a lot of depth to this story, it is cleverly plotted, the mob connection and storylines bring in danger and in a way so does Samantha’s fearlessness. The story is cleverly plotted and contains plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, some heartfelt and emotional moment, some hot scenes and romance. Thank you Alyssa Turner, thank you for this terrific story, I am looking forward to what comes next for Samantha and the Dom of Club Duval.

This is a review of the audio book of Unmeasured. The narration for this book is done in duet narration (male characters voiced by male narrators & female characters voiced by female narrators in time).
This story is the first in a trilogy. This first story is is a very in-depth story that describes a little about what brought each of the main characters to the D/s lifestyle but focuses on the relationship that develops between one particular Dom, Oleg, and a young girl, Samantha, exploring her desires with a group of four Doms that own a private club in Paris.
The group of Doms decide to train Samantha as a sub but the dynamic that Samantha brings to the group disrupts their standard training process. I will say, there were many moments where I was frustrated with Samantha's actions/attitude however, given her upbringing it wasn't entirely unbelievable. Overall, I loved this book.
The narrators did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life. Their accents were bang on highlighting the European setting of the story.

I'm a long-time fan of BDSM-based romances. Among my favorite authors are Red Phoenix, Simone Leigh, and Lucia Jordan. Well, move over ladies, and make plenty of room for Alyssa Turner on the goodies shelf!
This series-beginning volume shows a lot of promise. We have plenty of kink, steam, drama, angst, and superb character development. Our deliciously submissive and pleasingly curious princess is exposed to the lifestyle and learns some lessons along the way, such has being prepared when entering negotiations and not jumping in blindly with both feet. Her four doms, who feel like they are in the process of possibly becoming a reverse harem due to the level of internal commitment they feel towards our leading lady, are completely and properly dominant in appropriate settings.
This novel shows an understanding of and proper respect to the lifestyle. I can't guess whether that's due to excellent research or personal experience, or both, and it really doesn't matter. The plotting, surprises and all, is outstanding and the writing is superb. When I downloaded this e-book to my tablet, I planned to take a quick look and return to other books in process. Silly me. I inhaled this one non-stop without even a potty break. Luckily I have a strong bladder and already had a container with water in reach, so I had no reason to close the tablet before a tempting cliffhanger. Any dampness left behind when I exited for the toilet was not due to urinary incontinence.
I am really looking forward to the next installment of the Unmatched series. Right now Red's Brie saga is at 29 volumes, going on 30. Right now, I'm hoping that there's a Sam epic inside Alyssa that's even longer and is trying to get out into the world.

When Oleg meets Samantha, he has no idea just how perfect she really is for him. But Oleg has responsibilities and Samantha is. . .broken. Henri, Ivan and Paola can all see how amazing Samantha will be, if only given the proper instruction. And the four Doms are the right men for the job.
I enjoyed this, I really did. It did NOT blow me away though and mostly, here’s why.
The SPEED at which things move for these people!
Samantha has only know these men for 3 weeks, and already she has been had by them all, all at once. They all know the power she has, have felt it’s reach but Oleg claims her as HIS first and foremost.
Going against his family obligations will bring Oleg nothing but pain and he doesn’t really want Samantha to feel that but she will not return home.
Because of Samantha’s condition (she does not feel fear) all three men give her a great deal of themselves in their first few scenes. Too much, I thought.
It doesn’t pull you in, really!
It’s well written, I think just Samantha and Oleg (but I’ve already started book 2 and Henri has a say so can’t be 100% that it is JUST Oleg and Samantha in book one!) have a say.
The four men, along with Ivan’s older brother Alexander, have a very close bond, calling the others their brothers. You can feel this bond jumping off the page, you really can. I think that’s the bit I enjoyed the most, rather than the scenes, to be honest. Just how deep these men feel for each other!
Oleg’s obligations are gonna catch up with him at some point, and it will be interesting to see how they do, given what comes out here.

Let me start off by saying this was the first words I've ever read by Alyssa Turner... and I can guarantee you they won't be my last! I was enthralled from the first words and they kept my eyes glued right until the very end... and when I got there, I was looking around for more!
This story is about Samantha - a complicated and in depth human being... who happens to stumble upon Oleg - who just so happens to be promised to another woman for a marriage of convenience to help clear up some debts that his family has with another. As much as Oleg tries to avoid his attraction to Sam, there's just no denying it. His Dom friends join in on the fun, and suddenly they are now 4 hot af guys under Sam's spell. She's not even topping from the bottom as a sub - she's simply running the show.. .once she realizes how they feel about her, and how much she is falling for them as well. There are so many other things going on as well - family being the main one.. on both sides. His family is part of the mafia .. and her mother is a US Senator... this could make things a bit more complicated than they may have thought....
The dynamic that the characters share, is second to none. I don't remember reading anything written so well. There's many ups and downs in this story, but it kept my attention the entire time. I read the first few chapters that were released, then immediately begged the author to SEND. ME. MORE. I'm super stoked to read the next book in the series... and then update myself with the rest of her works. She's definitely earned her spot near the top of my TBR list!
