Like the first volume of the series, it's a great 'critical' listing of international filmmakers. This book was essential for my research on various filmmakers due to my work on putting together a film club society thing at Beyond Baroque some years ago. Richard Roud's writing is really good - very early Sight and Sound era writer. Yeah it's great.

Even though it's 25 years old, this is an essential reference work. Lengthy essays about the greatest filmmakers in the world by some of the finest critics.
