Spence - Going undercover is what my Broken Deeds MC chapter is all about. A contract with the government allows me to legally do anything within my power to let justice prevail. When a mafia boss demands an arranged marriage as part of a deal, I have no other choice but to accept. I need to bide my time working undercover to rip his family to shreds.
Penelope - My life was shattered when I was fourteen. From that day forward I’ve learned to make myself invisible, until my father hands me over to marry the President of a motorcycle club. Confronted with my past, I’m finally given a chance to rise above and bloom. Though, life never entails roses and sunshine and history has a way to repeat itself.
The good can only out balance the bad if both rise to the occasion. Finding love in unusual situations seems impossible as is saving lives.

I have to confess, I didn't connected the dots, that Spence is that Spence. The one from The Ryckerdan Trilogy. I didn't liked him that much there. He was so.... Well, just an arrogant ass. But here, I felt like he was a different person. Maybe it have to do with what happened in the trilogy. It made him to reconsider some things. I liked what man Spence was here. And the way he was with Penelope. The way he saw her. I think, at the beginning some may think how they can work, being so different. But.. Spence and his club allowed Penelope to bloom and to become, who she really was and not someone she had to because of circumstances she was living with. And what Penelope really was meant to be was perfect for Spence and the club. Penelope loved Spence and the club become her family. Her home. I got curious about some characters here. I'm looking forward for next book.
When Spence was introduced in the Ryckerdan Trilogy, I wanted to just hate him so badly. He was such a jerk! I honestly wondered if he could be redeemed. Part of me thought he could, the other part said no way man. He's a lot of naughty words I can't use in my reviews!
But, because Esther is who she is, she brought him around and shed light on his character. Instead of the deeply rude jerk, we saw in the trilogy, you get a different side to him. He fully admits to his rather brutish side. He's all in when it comes to his work and makes no apologies for it. He's dug himself in deeper over time.
Penny stole my heart. I'm not going to lie, she completely stole my freaking heart. Here is this young woman who went through this big ordeal and still holds true to herself. Its funny, she's not as quiet as her family believes her to be. She's crafty and sneaky in some ways. I found her inner strength to be beautiful.
The way they have to come together isn't ideal, and Spence shows his jerky side more than once. In fact, in true Spence fashion, A LOT. But the care he shows towards Penny blew me away. The story that unfolds fascinated me and had me a little shocked in a few places.
Of course, the appearance of our beloved Lynn will ALWAYS make me smile! I loved this whole story. Spence redeemed himself and Penny showed what a true rockstar she really is.
She knows more than they think, he is determined to do what he can to bring his assignment down. Will he learn to trust her? Will she be able to become who she has always wished to be?
Have to say this book sucked me in and kept me there. I'm a sucker for an Esther E Schmidt book and this one was no different. He definitely messed up in the beginning, but I loved seeing him slowly change and show that he was capable of more. I loved seeing her blossom and come out of her shell. Great read!
I loved these two together. Can't wait for Dion's book if he has one. Their is lots of drama. Not much romance, until closer to the end. The one thing that upsets me in any book is the female (H) needs to make the male (H) grovel more when they did something really bad. It was only a few hours. Also at the end, at the first paragraph it says he is looking around at the barflies. Hmm way to make me think a little differently about him. Though I know he wouldn't cheat. That paragraph didn't need to be in there. Can't wait for the next book.
Enjoyable, quick read! Spence needs to work on his communication skills a bit during one part, & I did have to skip a short part due to some graphic violence (seriously probably not graphic for anyone other than me!).
I love the connections to other stories/series, and that we get to see a little of Lynn & Deeds. The friendships & love of this chapter of Broken Deeds are great! And of course there are the steamy times!
I always love a Broken Deeds story! The good this MC does in connection to the instant love they feel and show when they meet their old lady is just awe inspiring! Spence's fall isn't any different than the rest of them. This loudly confirmed bachelor met his match and fell harder then expected when he met his Penny! Deeds and Linn appearances are ways the icing on the cake of love! I can't wait to see what they all get in to next!
I loved diving back into the Broken Deeds MC world. Arranged marriage or not these two were ment for one another. I loved the banter, I loved watching Penny grow into herself with Lynn's help and I loved watching Spencer realize he'd never let her go. I can't wait to see who falls next.
Spence and Penelope were a perfect match..thrown together by circumstances, but finding love along the way.
Loved the story and the small reunion with Spencer's family.. I feel compelled to do a re-read soon of the entire series do u can relive the whole gang from beginning to end.
Omg had so much fun getting a little catch up at the end for the rest of the Lawson family. Loved from start to finish this story was fun to read and get in to didn't want it to end hopefully she will give us more on this chapter of the MC.
Holy crap this one was excellent, I’ve been waiting for Spencer story for a long time and it was so worth it! Now my next wait I hope it’s not as long is with Dion! But no worries I’ll read whatever’s next!
Of Spence looks familiar it's because he was in the Ryckerden trilogy and was a bit arrogant. I'm glad he forbid own book and has chance to redeem himself with Penelope. I loved this book and I'm glad Spence redeemed himself. I can't wait to read more.
What a great start to this new series. Wow! Loved it. Great characters and plot along with some good twists and turns plus action and suspense. Can't wait for the next book in this series.
I have to say I enjoyed reading about this MC chapter and what they do for justice. I was happy to see they could work out all things they need to make it work for them.
Interesting take on undercover cops and motorcycle clubs. Lot of action and a little grumpy MC president. Makes a person want to read some of the other stories
Spencer is book 1 in the Broken Deeds MC NJ Chapter written by the amazing and talented author Esther E. Schmidt. I've been waiting for Spence’s story and Esther doesn't disappoint. We first met Spence in the Ryckerdan Trilogy and I've to say that I didn't like him much, he was a jerk most of the time. But in this installment he won my heart. This is Penelope, a mafia boss daughter & Spence, prez of the Broken Deeds MC NJ chapter and a government contractor, biker romance story. He is Lynn & Deeds son, plus Linnie's brother. He's going undercover to rip a Mob family to shreds. Well get ready because this one is one hell of a ride and I don't want to give anything away, A MUST READ!!!!Can't wait for more from the NJ chapter of Broken Deeds!!

I was so excited to read this book, I ended up reading it in one night I could not put it down. We first met Spence in the Ryckerdan Trilogy and boy was he a hardass with a big chip on his shoulder. In this book you get to see a whole different side of him and understand why he is the way he is. Spence fought hard against his feelings for Penelope because it was unknown territory for him but once he allowed his feelings to come out he showed Penelope what their future would hold nothing but love and protection. Who knew Spence could be so romantic under that hard shell of his. Penelope had a hard life and become sheltered because of it but once she set foot into the clubhouse she became a strong minded, not afraid to speak her opinions. Loved how Lynn was there to help her break out of her shell and also smack some sense into Spence! Together with the MC they worked together to bring down the bad guys who deserved what they got! This book was action packed, steamy and hot, and overall I must read book. I can’t wait for Dion and MC Brother books from this series! “Here comes the Rain again” loved this!
Oh boy! I already knew Spence was a hardass, arrogant so and so, but at times even that pushed it. But with this story I got to also see another side, one that actually was romantic and even a bit sappy, the complete opposite. I'm glad he learns to fight for love and family, I'm also glad the Penelope is loving, caring, understanding and supportive. But she also learns to bring out the feisty when it's needed, she is strong under the timid scared woman Spence first meets and is a complete match for him. The bad guys deserve more than they actually got in the way of punishment for their crimes and for some, what they did to Penelope. It is an exciting rollercoaster of a read, I couldn't put it down. There is some powerful subject matter and some hot and steamy, also some violence but nothing majorly graphic. I was all in from the first page to the end, heart hammering at times but I freakin loved it. Emotions 🤔🙄😡😪😊😍🤗❤ I went the whole range all the way through. Oh and we get some old friends included what's not to love. Started and finished 26/1/22
Boy did I ever love reconnecting with the Broken Deeds MC families. Yes folks, while this story involves the new NJ Chapter of Broken Deeds, we get to catch up with Spence’s family and their better halves and not to mention a few club brothers. Spence is the Prez of the NJ Chapter of the Broken Deeds MC, son to Deeds and Lynn (aka: Hot Lips). Like his family, his club also handles the hard contract cases for the government. Including the one his club is presently working involving the mafia. Spence himself has gone in this one to bring the man and his dealing to a halt. But when the “Boss” insists Spence marry his youngest daughter as a proof of loyalty, Spence finds himself in quite the pickle. Especially when he finds out Penelope isn’t quite the shy, daddy’s pawn she appears to be.
Most Excellent read and this reader is looking forward to more from the NJ chapter of the Broken Deeds MC.
This is the first book for this new chapter of Broken Deeds MC. Spence is the president of his chapter. This chapter does a lot of undercover work. In fact, that is how Spence meets Penelope. They are working to take down a mafia family. The mafia boss says he will only make the deal if Spence marries his daughter. Spence has never wanted an ol’ lady. His job wouldn’t make that easy. Penelope hasn’t had it easy and now she is being married off to a man she doesn’t even know. Penelope may be better off being given to Spence. He doesn’t want to control her the way her father does. But, her father doesn’t do anything without a motive or a plan this is no different. Penelope and Spence could be prefect for each other. I love this book. The characters in this book are wonderful. I can’t wait to read more about this chapter in the future. Great job Esther.
I have been waiting for Spence’s story and it did not disappoint. A man determined to keep his heart locked behind a wall of steel is forced into an arranged marriage as part of his undercover assignment. Penelope has suffered at the hands of her family and is now thrust into the MC world as the President’s Old Lady, however as her eyes meet his, it isn’t fear she feels. Their story is action packed, gritty and full of inspiration. The connection between these two is intense and has plenty of ups and downs as Spence and Penelope both learn to love and trust. A storyline that has you on the edge of your seat and holding your breath as what originally was a means to an end becomes a lifeline to forever.
Broken Deeds has always been one of my favorite MC series. I love their government contracts as a means to all end of situations. They go deep undercover. Spence is undercover and is forced into a marriage with the daughter of a mafia family they are after. Penelope is the mafia daughter whose life has been hell since she was 14. Penelope is my hero. She rises above and becomes a strong and beautiful woman inside and out and loyal to her husband. And added bonus was the mention and inclusion of a couple of her other series. I was fortunate to have received an ARC in return for honest review. I highly recommend this series and suggest reading in order to get the most out of them!
I am going to be honest, when I first met Spence in the Ryckerdan Trilogy, I wanted to nut punch him soooooo bad!! If you aren't familiar with Spence, he is Lynn (Hotlips) and Deeds son. Linnie's brother, and he was a grade A asshole!! But if you have read the Ryckerdan Trilogy you will kinda know why and that made my heart squeeze! Anywho, if you haven't, well buckle up Buttercup! It's a bumpy ride on the heart and the feels!! That's all you are getting from me because I don't want to give anything away!! I have lost my breath and my damn mind, reading this but it was worth it! Go, add it to your tbr now!!
I couldn't put this story down, it was a great story. Esther E. Schmidt did a great job on the book, the plot was strong, it was packed with all kinds of emotions, the characters were strong, the story was written well. Spence and Penelope's journey wasn't the easiest, they had been through a lot, they had their obstacles but they're fighters and together they made a strong pair. The connection between Penelope and Spence was strong, their chemistry was off the charts, they were great together, completely made for each other. This was a great story. I'd suggest reading it. Thank you, Esther E. Schmidt. Wonderful work :)
Another amazing read in the Broken Deeds series. Spence is one of Deeds and Hot Lips children. We met Spence in the Ryckerdan Trilogy. The NJ Chapter does undercover work and this is how he meets Penelope. Spence and his men are working a case to take down her father. In a show of loyalty her father tells Spence that he will marry his daughter in 3 weeks time. During this rollercoaster ride Spence learns that Penelope is just a pawn in her fathers twisted games and that she has lived a hard life but is still a loving and caring person who is loyal to him and the club. I can't wait for more from the NJ Chapter!
