This is a good introduction, and doesn't take itself too seriously.

Tarot For Dummies, by Amber Jayanti, is an introduction to tarot that features all the characteristics a For Dummies book should have: it’s entertaining and teaches everything you need to start exploring the subject. It presents an obscure art from a modern perspective and in informal language, without forgetting the ancient origins of many of the symbols involved. The 78 arcana are interpreted through a system with clear rules, yet it remains flexible. By presenting different decks and encouraging the creation of custom spreads, it invites the practitioner to let their imagination run free.

I will be referencing this book for the foreseeable future, I'm sure. Amber Jayanti is a playful and fun writer that provides the information I'm seeking with a refreshing silliness...Amber also provided several references throughout the book for me to move on to and/or work with as well.

An excellent introduction to Tarot, its origins, and an understanding of the deck.

Mostly unoriginal, & too similar to other tarot guides. But a quirky quip is listed above each traditional reference to shake things up bit
