Bloodthirsty vamps. Dire Wolf royalty. The Prince of unicorns. What's next? All out war of course.
When I came to Prosper Woods, the last thing I expected was to be walking into a world of magic. Horror movies at the theater hadn't prepared me for the realization that vampires, werewolves, witches, shifters, and ghosts were real. After six months, I've learned to live with it and I count many odd creatures as friends, not to mention my soulmate, a vampire who makes me tremble when he kisses me.
I'm hopelessly, helplessly in love.
When I came to Prosper Woods, my expectations were low. I brought Robert's bones, numerous possessions, and regret for my role in my maker's sheer bloodlust. I also brought Robert's ancient tomes. When Sergio showed up demanding I give him the books, I banished him with the help of a spell and a friendly witch. I never expected those books to be the source of danger to my man and our life together.
I'm hopelessly, helplessly in love.
When the vampire came to town, I knew things were going to change. What I didn't expect was to become alpha of my pack and fall in love with my best friend. Werewolf royalty moved into town, bad vampires were about to go to war with us, and the biggest surprise of all...the unicorns had a king of their own. I don't know what's about to happen, but I want to avoid war. With Sam by my side, I'm pretty sure I can face anything.

I am saddened that this series is over, but am glad that we will have a spin-off with Castor's book coming next year. These books cannot be read as stand-alone & need to be read in order. This final book picks up right after the ending of the last book. Vincent has received word that the conclave of eight is on their way to put him on trial for killing Sergio's progeny in the last book. Vincent is sure he knows how this will end, with the true death. He makes a bone headed decision that he is going to distance himself from his mate to hopefully spare him & turn himself back into a monster to spare the town. I'm glad that both Sid & Rome made him see the light. There are some big surprises on who comes to help them in their battle. I'm not going to spoil it to tell you who/what they are. The battle was a bloody affair, and the good guys do not come out unscathed. We also finally find out what is in those books that were passed down to Vincent after the death of his sire Robert. Let us say, there are a lot of royals living in Prosper Woods. One of my most favorite things about this series is the beginning of each chapter with the "letters to the editor", they crack me up. I highly recommend this series.
John Solo does an amazing job narrating this series & I can't wait for the spin-off.
I rec'd a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest opinion.
Wow that was one heck of a ride. I can't believe the series is really over! The series has kept me gripped from the start and I'm so sad that it's over, but a good things must come to an end!
In the last book we found out that the conclave of eight was on its way to Prosper Woods, all due to Vincent chopping that horrid little Harvey's head off. But Sergio is only after the books and thinks this is his opening to do so.
So we find ourselves wanting to slap poor Vincent round the head in the first few chapters. I know he is only thinking about Rome when he decides on his stupid plan, but he still needs a good bop on the head. Luckily for us there is a lovely witch named Sid to give Vincent a dose of reality. I really adore Sid and how he has helped this pair so far. He is like a father figure to Vincent in a way and some of us could so do with a Sid every now and then! He is super wise and they should always listen to him, he knows his stuff.
Rome is dealing with the carnival coming to town, but he finds a surprise when he gets there. I love that his shifter senses are getting stronger, he actually recognised what shifter Tal, the carnival owner was. Go Rome, your shifter senses are finally started to work! As usual Rome always worries about his mate when he isn't around and this time he should be. When he finds Vincent in Sid's cellar, Vincent tells him his stupid plan to do a bunk! He only wanted to make sure no-one would get hurt, but still it's a stupid plan! Thank goodness Rome makes him see sense too, he just knows him inside out and knows what's troubling him. They work so well together, they are a truest fated pair I have ever seen. They know that they are stronger together, no apart. They have to see this through as a team!
The multiple POV really works well in this book, as it has in all the others in this series. I especially love seeing Greg and Sam, I love seeing what's going on in their heads. They are newly mated fated pair and I was so happy when they mated in the previous book. It's nice being inside Greg's head especially, we can see how much he has grown as a person and as an alpha. Greg and Sam work so well together, they help each other when needed and you can see how they work as a fated pair.
We all knew the final was going to be epic and would take a vast army of Prosper Woods folks to pull off. We meet a few new people in this book. The one that had my jaw drop, involved 3 magi. Let's just say they offered baby Jesus 3 gift and followed a star to him, have you figured it out yet! It made me want to laugh when I saw what shifters they were. Also, let's just say that King Rome found out that he had some guardians of his own too. They are pretty impressive, if not weird in some respects, let's just say they were missing something!
I still couldn't get a fix on the royal werewolves. I couldn't decide whether they were friends or foe, especially after they have that talk with Sam and Greg. Let's just say that what they decide rather annoyed Sergio. He puts in dent in his plans for world domination!
I adored little Hannibal, he is just too cute! It was so lovely seeing Rome, Vincent and him have some family time. What he said to Vincent was so sweet, he would make anyone want to be his Papa! The fun at the carnival was great to see. I just loved that both Rome and Vincent got the family they never thought they could have! As usual Hannibal taught his father a few Unicorn tricks.
As we get close to the end, things really ramped up. I was so excited to finally figure out what was with them books. Let's just say that it was a shock at what they told Vincent, it seems blue runs through a lot of veins in Prosper Woods. I knew the books would hold the key to it all. I did love the ending though and the conclave of eight lived up to the name Rome gives them. They are so far up their own behinds it's funny, but I just was very happy to see some people get their just deserts. It was amazing seeing the battle scene at the end and seeing all the different shifters and paranormal in the book come together. We got to see a bit of everyone, which I was happy about.
Patricia Logan knows how to write hot sex scenes. The ones between Rome and Vincent was incredibly hot! It was like liquid sex and they just worked together so well in the bedroom. They always had explosive sex and I love it when Vincent goes all vampire on him, but maybe not as much as Rome does. I liked that they were equal in the bedroom and switched roles a lot. Greg and Sam didn't, but that worked for them. You wouldn't believe from their time in the bedroom that Sam was Greg's first though, he was a natural!
I can't believe this was the last in the series, but it did end on a high note. All the characters were so well written and came alive a I read the book. I'm just so happy I found the series and got suckered into the goings on in Prosper Woods. I'm just glad that my favourite hero's get the HEA they deserve. I'm just glad there are no loose ends, it drives me mad when there is. I prefer my stories wrapped up in a big bow at the end, not leaving me with lingering questions. It is one of my favourite paranormal series and I'm so happy that we get Caster's story too. After seeing so much of him in the series, I really want to know more about him. Also, I really just don't want this to be the last of the story of Prosper Woods and all who call it home!
I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest review.
This is the conclusion to an exciting series. Rome and Vincent and all the Prosper Woods supernaturals are preparing for a visit from the Conclave of Eight. This is the vampire council that rules the vampire world. They've been called to oversee the complaint Sergio has brought against Vincent for killing his progeny Harvey. Everyone knows that Sergio didn't care about Harvey, he just wants Vincent dead so he can have the books he possesses. While they're waiting on the Conclave to arrive everyone is doing their part to get ready and strengthen their position. Rome is learning more powers from his son Hannibal. Vincent is learning to read the old language, so he can read the ancient books he received from his sire Robert. Greg and Sam are preparing the wolf pack that a fight is coming and he's asking the pack to help protect Vincent and Rome. The dire wolves are going to help albeit reluctantly. A carnival has come to town and it's run by an unusual lady, with some secrets of her own. These secrets just might be able to help them in their fight. Rome has some new protectors that are unusual and very cool. When they receive word that the council will be there in 2 days (5 days early) everyone starts to panic. Later when Vincent and Rome arrive at the meeting place things aren't going well for Vincent and Rome. It looks like Sergio may get away with his plan until an unexpected person shows up to witness for Vincent. This causes the whole situation to become chaos and the fight is on. Death comes calling from both sides.
This is a well written book with no notable errors in punctuation, grammar or spelling. It flows well and kept my attention from page one. The chemistry all the couples have together, as well as the supporting characters is felt. The sex is hot! I especially loved the chapter headers. They were so funny I could've read a book of just them and enjoyed myself. The only negative IMO is that the series is ending. I wanted more from the characters of Prosper Woods. I highly recommend this whole series starting with the prequel True Knight.
Great ending to a really fun series! As usual all the chapter headings made me shake my head and laugh. Lets just say one of them included the name "Anita Dickinme" and I may have lost it laughing. It was then my husbands turn to shake his head (after teasing me for my immaturity of course). I enjoyed how everything played out in the end and I will miss these characters now that the series is over. I'm really excited for Castors book coming in 2022. Maybe we will get some cameos from our old friends, one can only hope!
Loved this series so much and this final book is perfect! You have to read the entire series so I am not going to give you any spoilers here! I will just say that in this book we get our multiple POV's which I am finding is what really completely enhanced this story! Vincent and Rome are just so HOT and their steamy times burn up the pages and then Greg and Sam bring a different kind of relationship which just really rounds everything out! There is something for everyone who loves a paranormal romance in this series! I received an ARC of this book and recommend the entire series! This final chapter has it all.. yes including a Carnival and Happy Every Afters for all! I cannot wait to now listen to it on Audio!!!
3.5 stars Una buona conclusione per questa serie. Sono contenta che ci sarà una serie spin-off sui lupi mannari. Consiglio un QC migliore soprattutto nella prima metà del libro.
I’ve enjoyed this series and sad to see it end, although I’m happy there is more stories coming that are set in this world. The characters are quirky, and I love the community, small town, family feel. I was very satisfied with the conclusion of this story, and the series, and hope we haven’t seen the last of these guys.
Vincent is an idiot, and I was very happy when Sid gave him a few home truths. I love Sid. He’s an interesting guy, and I loved getting his POV this time around. I’d love to find out more about him and his history. I love Vincent and Rome together. It’s very obvious in not just their words, but their actions, that they care deeply about each other. I thought Rome came into his own with his abilities in this story, and he totally rocks.
I liked the balance of Hannibal being powerful, but still a child with his reactions etc. I enjoyed seeing him, Rome, and Vincent becoming a family. The King’s Champions are a wonderful idea, though I was sad that not everyone survives. The three from the carnival were something I didn’t see coming—loved it!
Rome’s name for the Conclave of Eight is perfect. I loved how everyone comes together to fight to save not only Vincent, but their community, and the surprise addition of another character who has been there all along in his own way.
The worldbuilding in this story, as with the rest of the series, is fabulous, and I liked how it built on the previous books to bring it all together for the conclusion. I liked Castor, and his sister, so happy that he’s getting his own story next.
*4.5* - a series that must be read in order! A fitting finale for what has been a truly entertaining series from Patricia Logan. Set in a world where paranormals are all around us, Prosper Woods is where all of the action takes place it seems. We're back for the last time with vampire, Vincent and his mate, Romeo, who is the town sheriff/King of Unicorns(!). This time we're awaiting the arrival of the Conclave of Eight, leaders of the vampires, where there will most likely be a war. Rome and Vincent have really been through it since they first came together, which was only a few months ago! So much has happened and their relationship has just gotten stronger and more intense and this book gives them their biggest lead up to the incoming battle. Unfortunately, that is a lot of time for stress and worry to build so they have to rely and trust in each other. Their friends and family unite and come together to face this final battle with them and you can really feel the sense of community and bonds that have built up across the series. All of the characters we've come to know and love are involved from the start with everyone coming together, as well as some new incomers, both friend and foe. Sid, Greg & Sam, Sally, Hannibal, Jared & Lira and so many more, all people that mean so much to the MC's and make the story as good as it can be. A most wonderful end to the series, a story full of emotion, drama and action. Definitely a recommended series! I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
So, it seems as if I somehow missed reading book 3, LOL, no wonder I was kind of lost about Romeo having a kid, but I rolled with it and ended up enjoying this installment a lot.
Vincent and Romeo are my favorites, although Sid is awesome and Hannibal was adorbs and Dashel *sobs* was really nice, too. I like Sam, too, but Greg (at least during the first third of the book) made me want to throttle him.
The Letters to the Editor at the start of each chapter were my favorite part, they're too much fun!
This was a bit of a rollercoaster with everything happening, which made sense since everything with Sergio and the Vampire Conclave came to a head. I really liked the twists and turns and that everyone turned out to help our heroes in their time of need. All in all, a recommendable read!
*** Copy provided to Bayou Book Junkie for my reading pleasure, a review wasn't a requirement. ***
We get answers now. Vincent is about to go through some things. He is about to be put on trial for killing, Harvey, Sergio's kid, from the previous story, a must read, BTW. Story thread is best if series is read in order. Vince understood the importance of the books. He just didn't know what was in them. The Conclave of Eight had given the books to Robert, who passed them on to Vincent for his progeny. He realized they had devolved into corruptness and darkness, and he thought he needed to emulate them during their visit. Vince, had a plan that was not the smartest or most strategic, he was in panic mode. ill his ruse work? Will Vince be found guilty? What then? Will he find the solution? What will Rome do? What will happen to the town? Lots of unexpected challenges and solutions. Excellent ending. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Oh, how I loved this series. And the conclusion was well worth the reading the previous books. Right will win out over maliciousness. It was great to see how all the all the assorted shifters come together as one populace to be victorious against Sergio and show the Conclave of Eight the lies Sergio was using against Vincent in attempting to accomplish his nefarious plan. Rome has learned from his son Hannibal of the limitless powers he possesses and Vincent's willingness to expand his knowledge and enabled him to earn his rightful place in the vampire realm. All in all, a meaningful culmination to this series. As hinted at there is more to come in the near future too. This is my honest opinion for the ARC I received.
This has been a fantastic series!! I’m going to miss Rome and Vincent but especially Hannibal! This book had everything!! There was so much heat, steam and romance, action and suspense, and lots of humor! Hannibal was a hoot, going to miss that kids antics and enthusiasm! I loved that we also got a secondary romance with Greg and Sam being fated mates. The world building was top notch! I loved the letters to the editor, freakin funny!! Overall, it was really well written, highly recommend! I’m voluntarily leaving a review form an advanced copy that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.
This is the last book in a truly bonkers series. And I mean that in a very good way. Vincent and Romeo continue to take center stage, but all hell breaks loose in this story. It’s messy, bloody, and chaotic. Stupid decisions are made. Surprises abound. Ms. Logan’s excellent writing and creative character development are as present as always. If you haven’t read the previous books, stop, do not pass go and return to Book 1. This is a continuing storyline and the books must be read in order. In fact, this book picks up literally right after the events of the last book conclude. This is an addictive, completely original series that I highly recommend.
I have really enjoyed this series and the collection of magical and supernatural denizens of Prosper Woods, but this fourth book in the series dragged for me, especially in the beginning, and there seems to be an overabundance of sex scenes. I like a good steamy scene, but not when they override the plot and action. The book does provide a good conclusion to the stories in this ARC, but the climax was a bit anticlimactic. I'm glad I read the book and the series, but this one just wasn't as good as the first three.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
And so we come to the end of this wonderful series. The big battle finally happens and scores are settled. Secrets from ancient tomes are revealed. Friends save friends from making big mistakes. Friends and lovers support each other and new allies join the fray. Best of all, there are more letters to the editor! A satisfying conclusion to a great series.
What a way to bring a terrific series to a close! True Order was everything I could have hoped for and more. I loved the humor in these stories. The community and support found in these books is amazing. What a ride it has been. I'm looking forward to the spinoff with Castor.
I really enjoyed reading this series as it was well written that each book was a complete joy to read. Loads of action, fighting and sex! I received an ARC of this book for my honest review.
This book, actually the entire series, is absolutely amazing and fantastic. The characters are well written and full of life while the story will keep you completely immersed and not want to stop reading until you find out what happens next.
True Order is Book 4 in the Prosper Woods Chronicles series and needs to be enjoyed in order. This is a wonderfully written action packed, surprising, intense, keep you on the edge of your seat as war is coming ending to a fabulous series. I really enjoyed this book and the way the people of Prosper Woods came together to protect their home, no matter which species they were. It really showed how special Prosper Woods really is. I enjoyed the multi pov's from several characters. Vincent is such a strong character that he would do whatever it took to protect himself and his mate. But in the end he realized how fortunate he was to live in such a wonderful community where he wasn't alone and didn't have to do things on his own. I highly recommend this book and series. It's a series I'll enjoy again and again. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I want to begin by saying I enjoyed this series. Who wouldn’t with magic, unicorns, werewolves, vampires and surprises aplenty. It’s fun, the chapter headings are hilariously witty and like I said there’s magic. But something about the conclusion to the series and even with Rome and Vincent just didn’t resonate with me. I’m glad I read it as I wanted to know how everything resolved—it’s quite the trip—and especially hoped the arrogant baddies would get their comeuppance—did they? Read it and see. It just was missing something for me. Overall though, it’s an entertaining series with tons of action and delightful paranormal surprises, all centered around a lovable town you wouldn’t believe, even if you lived there.
True Order is a thoroughly entertaining conclusion to the Prosper Woods Chronicles. Rome and Vincent still have lessons to learn, family and friends to cherish, love to give and life to live ahead of the final showdown between them and Sergio, resulting from the evil vampire's false claim to their council of elders.
It's been a great ride in this well-written universe. I love the diversity of the shifter population, the bonds of love between Rome and Vincent, and between Greg and Sam, the great friendship and community between all the different families...gives you a warm, gooey feeling inside. 4.5*
I am so ready for Rome and Vincent to get some peace and quiet! I am sure they are too. With the conclave of eight coming to Prosper Woods and the threat of Sergio and Floyd hanging over their heads, they have little room to relax or to get to know Hannibal and his guardians. Rome is still trying to figure out how to be a dad and Vincent is struggling with trying to figure out how to keep everyone safe. But one thing these two seem to forget: Proper Woods takes care of its own! This series has been a roller coaster ride and I am sorry to see it end but I look forward to seeing what will happen next. I love these characters! This town is so full of quirky and fun folks and they are all extremely loyal. It is wonderful to see how they all come together for those they care about.
While I am glad that we have the conclusion I hate that we are leaving this town and all it’s wonderful characters. I have loved reading every book in this series. I think the letters to the Editor at the start of each chapter were hilarious. There is so much to enjoy in these books. Well thought out and very complex without dragging make them an exciting read. I look forward to more delights that I’m sure this author will deliver.
im so sad we are done with this series.. it is interesting and magical.. it is sexy and so much fun. it made me laugh and smile and happy.. i felt so much happiness in this world. it was wonderful!
I absolutely loved this book! The Prosper Woods Chronicles are just so incredibly well written that each book was a complete joy to read. This book ends beautifully and ties up so many loose ends. I highly recommend this story!
I absolutely love this series so much! Patricia Logan has done it again and made such an amazing series. I just love this cast of characters. They are all amazing. This story is filled with action, suspense and so much love. Such an amazing ending. This is definitely a series I would recommend to anyone.
Whilst I enjoyed how the story arc ended, with all the conflicts being solved and the peace being restored in Prosper Woods, not to mention this big chosen family that kept building up along the series, I was very disappointed at this last book. It felt flat and somehow loose. Like it had been written in a rush with no betas and not well edited either. There were a lot of unconnected parts and a lot of new things that were introduced but never mentioned again anymore (what was even the point?). Even the jokes seemed unfitting this time. It dragged in certain parts with so many details and so much repetition of the same facts, and the important parts, like the final battle or the last chapter, were too short and lacked details.
The repetition of information was also a big problem for me. If the reader reaches book 4 in the series, they know who is who, they know all the main events, they know how everyone connects with everyone else. We don't need to be reminded that many times.
Amateurish, repetitive, throw everything at the wall and see if it sticks. Lots of repetitive information I thought was just there to pad out the pages. The repetition of information was also a big problem for me. If the reader reaches book 4 in the series, they know who is who, they know all the main events, they know how everyone connects with everyone else. We don't need to be reminded that many times. Sex scenes are repetitive and boring. Conclusion of series felt like a rip off of a popular vampire and wolf series of books and movies. The whole thing is very anticlimactic and seemed rushed. You are reading along and soon all the bad people are dead with no real explanation.
