Angela: Run. I need to run. My boyfriend, Mark, thinks his mafia connections will be able to kill my ex. But Gray’s an alpha werewolf and the leader of the Pack, Vegas’s most notorious motorcycle gang. It will take more than just a mobbed up human to take him down. To protect my boyfriend and my son—we have to run.
Jack: I’m the only one strong enough to save Angela—but even I can’t take on an entire werewolf gang. Which means I have to talk to Rosalie: the vampire who made me, the Mistress I despise. If I don’t, Angela and her son are as good as dead—so I’ll do it, even if swearing allegiance to Rosalie kills me. Again.
She’s a werewolf in danger.
He’s a vampire about to sell his soul.
Welcome to Dark Ink Tattoo, where needles aren't the only things that bite.
Dark Ink Tattoo is a scorching paranormal in the vein of Sons of Anarchy, with strong sexual situations and bisexual MCs.
Hi there! I'm a registered nurse and author. As Cassandra, I wrote the Year of the Nurse: A Covid-19 Pandemic Memoir. As Cassie, I've written numerous (and very hot!) paranormal romances, sometimes with my friend Kara Lockharte. I live in the Bay Area with one husband, two cats, and one million succulents.
This is the third book in the Dark Ink tattoo series. Once I started this book, I finished it in a few hours. The spice level I would say is a 4 out of 5. In this book you have jack the vampire doing everything he can think of to help Angela his boss at the tattoo shop she owns. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but this book was good, and leaves you wanting to read the next book.
You can not just read this one without reading the 2 books that came before this, you would be confused by the story if you tried.
I received this book for free from booksirens, and i am voluntarily leaving this review.
This installment brought us back to the present with Jack and Angela. Things with Angela’s ex get super intense. Her relationship with Mark gets deeper despite her fears of him coming to harm at the hands of the Pack. Her storyline continues to get more and more chaotic.
Jack! God. I Fucking love Jack. For as long as I live, I’ll never forget Jack and his tenderness, his constantly seeking consent, and how freaking sexy he is. He’s the perfect vampire book BF. I love him. He was even nice to PAM. IYKYK. I mean, what a gem he is.
As always, this book is full of spice. This one was the sexiest yet. I have no complaints about the spice content, bring it all on Cassie! I do have one problem though, the word “slacks” for dress pants makes me think of my grandpa. I would love if you could just call them pants. :)
Another home run. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series!!
Thank you to BookSirens and Caskara Press for a free review copy of this book. 💕
I'm loving this series. Each book gets better and better. There is even more drama in this book. There's also some heartache as well. Can't leave out the scheming and action, lots of action. It goes back and forth between Jack and Angela. Lots of vampires and werewolves. You'll definitely want to read this one.
I am in love with this series. This book brings us back to the present and what is going on with Jack and Angela. I absolutely love Jack and so desperately hope that Angela and him end up together for the long run. Angela's ex and the pack members he deals with are getting more intense and Angela is getting more afraid that something will happen to Mark, who she is getting more serious with. Jack and Angela finally find out about each other and what they really are and Jack definitely tries to help Angela with her problems along with Mark, who is trying to get rid of her ex. This book was so steamy and I absolutely love Jack, even though I really want him to be with Angela. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I'm really loving this series, it did take me a while to get into as I was a little unsure where the story was heading. I felt like it was buried underneath all the sex scenes. Even though I enjoyed them they did throw me off the bigger picture. But with this book things are clicking into place and it's so bloody exciting.
Jack OMFG!!! That sexy fuxking vampire is still my favourite character and with every book I love him more and more. His sexcapades are fun, naughty and very spicy but there's a lot more to him, he's an all round nice guy with a protective and caring side. I absolutely adore him and Paco together and I'm hoping their relationship continues even though I'm desperate to see Jack and Angela finally getting it on.
I'm so ready for the next book and as much as I love all the raunchy scenes I'm hoping for a lot more grit, danger and violence as I think Jack will have to unleash his darker side to protect Angela from the pack. I'd love to see Angela let her wolf out to play, I think she's due her own bit of vengeance.
Whatever happens next it's going to be one hell of a ride.....bring it on. 👏👏
Blood at Midnight (also known as Jack’s Harem of ever changing faces,LoL) is the third book in the Dark Ink Tattoo series. The first one was difficult for me to get into, and I just didn’t connect with the characters. I am getting into the story now though. While I had trouble with the first book, it says a lot to me that I still went back to it and wanted to read more, so the storyline and plot points are great. They are intriguing and entertaining, and I’m really wondering where this is going.
I am pushing my rando thoughts to to bottom, so I can review the actual book.☺️
So this is the book that got me hooked on this story, though I will admit that the plot points and storyline from the first book were interesting enough that even though I couldn’t quite get my head around the first one, I was still thinking about it weeks later. Since I was still thinking about it, I wanted to read the rest, so clearly I was in denial or something who knows. Now I can say if you love paranormal stories with strong but flawed characters and fantastic world building, with realistic dialog and behavior by each and every character, you will likely enjoy this book.
I have to note though this is another short book, and I hope once all the books are out that Ms. Alexander will combine them all into one boxed set so I can buy the whole thing at once, and then it won’t matter if the books are a bit short, I’ll have them all anyways.
Ok here are my rando thoughts:
I know Jack and Angela like each other and they have been friends for 5 years, so there real history between them, and now that the secrets are out, there is room to grow. I have to admit I have a bit of a fear of what would need to happen to Mark and Paco before Jack and Angela finally hook up.
Ms. Cassie Alexander, if you kill off Paco I will stage a revolt, somehow! Jack and Paco are good for each other, but I don’t see Paco being comfortable in a relationship with Jack if he’s also in a relationship with his Boss’s woman, or even his ex-boss’s woman. He’s the epitome of a Good Guy.
While Mark is not the epitome of a Good Guy, he’s also good for Angela….
I’m truly invested now, but I have to say if this turns into a 10 book series, I don’t know if I can hang on that long.. another couple, sure, no problem I’m in. Another 5? Not so much.
Book three in the Dark Ink Tattoo series and I’m still hooked. The tension is still turned up to an eleven and going higher, the plot keeps me guessing, and I’m absolutely never bored. Never a dull moment. Truly.
Jack and Angela’s stories are starting to tie up more than Angela just being Jack’s boss, which is awesome. I was wondering when that was really going to be set into motion. With Jack babysitting Angela’s son, wires get crossed and that Venn diagram starts moving toward a full circle.
I like how Angela lets her wolf off the leash a little, and how it responds to Jack. I honestly wonder how Mark will factor into Jack and Angela, or whether we might be looking as a poly romance (granted, I don’t have high hopes for that one, I don’t think Mark’s the type for that). There’s going to be a boom moment that brings Jack and Angela together. I’m just waiting for that particular shoe to drop.
Of course, the spice was SPICY. As always. I love Cassie’s writing all around, but her sex scenes in particular. To die for.
Cassie keeps delivering with these books. I’m not seeing any mid-series lag, or places where the plot is falling off. The storytelling is tight, the sex is lit, and the drama is high. I can’t ask for much more than that!

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
As I keep reading this series I’m starting to enjoy it more. The storyline is great and keeps me wondering what’s going to happen next. All of the characters are well developed, they have their own stories (even the side characters and characters that make a guest appearance to an extent) and they don’t feel like copy and paste versions of eachother or overly generic. As I’m enjoying the series more I’ve given it a star more than I initially did for the first book.
I’ve noticed a few spelling mistakes but it’s not enough to tear you out of your reading haze and I honestly barely noticed them. Why not five stars? Honestly, I’ve just enjoyed other books and series more. I know what I was getting into but I’m not big on lots of sex scenes in books, I have nothing against it it just sort of starts to annoy me sometimes when it’s a big focus but with this series it’s understandable with how the characters and the mythology of the werewolves and vamps are written.
I would definitely recommend this series to fans of werewolves and vampires and someone looking for lgbt+ characters. I’m excited to find out what happens next for jack and Angela.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a new author for me so I wasn't sure what to expect. Blood by Midnight, book three in the Dark Ink Tattoo series continues the stories of Angela and Jack. The book picks up from where we left off at the end of book one, only now with a better understanding of the character's background that we discovered in book two. This time there is way more interaction between Angela and Jack, and the feelings that Jack has for Angela continues to grow as he is getting more comfortable being a vampire. Meanwhile Angela and Mark grow closer as well, with Mark making plans to try to kill Grey in prison to protect Angela. But when Angela suffers a devastating loss, all she wants to do is take Rabbit and run from everyone. Jack only wants to protect Angela, even from Mark should he have to, but will helping Angela cause more complications for Jack?
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "BLOOD BY MIDNIGHT" I love this series from the start each book just gets better & better full of mystery secrets, suspense, intrigue, angst, humor, danger, lots of action twists a page turner for sure. Angela & Jack work together to stay ahead of her ex secrets are revealed they learn what each other is & there's more creatures of the night he goes to his creator to help Angela & Mark is trying to end her ex. Jack & Paco are so great together their sexcapades, humor, I just love these characters I hope at some point Jack & Angela get together maybe a Menage he's such a protective, caring guy. I definitely recommend to get this amazing well written story it won't disappoint Jack will need to let his darker side out to truly help Angela she finally let's her wolf out wanting vengeance of her own I'm so looking forward to the next book to see what happens next. PHENOMINAL READ!!!!!
I am so enjoying this series, especially the characters, Jack's one sexy vampire! This third book picks up where the author left off at the end of the first book, book two gave us some much-needed history about how both Angela and Jack joined the ranks of the paranormal.
I enjoyed this book, it pulled me and kept my attention, it's suspenseful and has lots of twists and turns, many of which surprised me there is also enough steam to satisfy and not just between the main characters there are M/M, F/F, as well as M/F scenes, keep a long cool drink to hand.
I want to say more but that would involve spoilers - so no, what I will say is pick up this series and if you haven't yet read the preceding books download them because this series needs to be read in the correct order to fully appreciate just how good it is.
I am just loving this series. It’s definitely a harder job to write a series the way that Cassie Alexander has that goes back and forth in time and between different narrators. I have had no trouble figuring out what is going on and my only problem is that I would have liked there to be titles that identify who is the narrator of each chapter. The way it’s written it’s easy to figure out how in a short bit of reading though. Ms. Alexander has done a marvelous job of plotting these many separate elements of the overall story and has them weaving around each other and going back and forth in time so that slowly what is really happening becomes evident. Take heed of the warnings but if this sounds like your type of series then I recommend it highly.
I am still awestruck even when I'm this far into the series. Solving a mystery along with drama, murder and mayhem seems to lead our male and female characters by the nose. Plus the Pack is after Rabbit, Angela is scared, Jack is putting puzzle pieces together as he attempts to be the hero. The thing about Jack Stone is that he a noble southern man with morals. Sexy and honest. He and Angela eventually reveal themselves to one another to join forces against Gray and the Pack. The blood is pumping to read more.
Things are getting intense between Angela's ex and despite the worry she has for her Pack and the mafia bringing harm to them, her relationships are getting deeper.
The steam in this book is absolutely there and I loved every bit of it. The author gave us great characters, with real connections, and a man who is constantly making sure his woman is okay with everything. Jack is the perfect vampire book boyfriend, and I adore everything about him.
This book did take me a little while to get into, so it was a rough start. But once I was into it, the chapters flew by and I love the characters even more now!
The Pack is after Angela and her son and Mark puts security on her for protection, including Paco. Paco let’s Jack know what is going on with Angela and Jack steps in trying to help Angela. Jack asks his maker to help with the Pack and she agrees for a price. The story makes some progress in the plot but it’s mostly about the steam. There is some very fluid sexuality again, including F/F, M/M and F/M, with all of the characters. . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Blood by Midnight - book 3 in this series and things are getting heated for both Angela & Jack. Not just with all the very steamy scenarios but with Angela stuck right in the middle of a violent pack who will stop at nothing to get what they want. Which is Angela and her son. Jack has his own problems when he needs his makers help. Only her help comes at a price and that will cause more complications for him. This series definitely keeps you on your toes and completely riveted to it. I genuinely like Angela and Jack so much. I cant wait to see what happens to them in the next book
The story continues to get better. The feelings that Jack has for Angela continues to grow as he is getting more comfortable being a vampire. He desires to protect her, even from Mark should he have to. Angela allows Mark to make plans to kill Grey and protect her. When Angela suffers a lost she wants to take Rabbit and run from everyone. As secrets are being revealed, not everyone is what they seem. I look forward to reading the next book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Mark has hired protection for both Angela and Rabbit. Paco is part of the security team. Jack revealed himself to Paco, and is still looking for Bella’s killer in the Pack. Angela’s mother was murdered by the Pack when she was on a date with Mark and Jack was babysitting Rabbit. Gray was stabbed in prison and taken to the infirmary. Mark is ready to make a deal with Roselie for Angela and Rabbits protection. Things are getting interesting in this series that keeps you riveted to these characters.
★ “…my wolf always knew what to do. She never had any questions. She was always right.” ★
—>>> Events ramp up in this installment as Angela’s ex Gary aggressively pushes more and more into her life, chilling and demanding. Mark and Angela build more trust in their relationship, but there are also some heartbreaking moments and life-changing decisions made by the main characters which drive up the suspense. We see more of Paco as well, and he adds much to the storyline with his involvement.
Wholly looking forward to what is in store for them all next!
If you can stand the heat this series is amazing. Book 3 picks up at the end of book 1 (2 was a flashback). Jack and Angela are trying to stay safe. Paco is back as well now serving as one of Angela's bodyguards. The pack ramps up their taunting and things get serious.
I could not put this story down. I love how the characters are empowered to go after whoever they want.
I cannot wait to read book 4. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book picks up right off from where we left book 1, now with a better understanding of the character's background that we discover in book 2.
Jack and Angela are in danger and are trying to remain safe. Angela is increasingly being threatened by the pack. There is just so much going on and I am super excited to see what happens next!
I really love this series. I enjoyed this book, it's suspenseful with lots of twists and turns. Very few books hold my attention as this one did. The steam in this book is undeniable but the captivating thing is Cassie's ability to write characters with depth who have palatable connections. I definitely recommended this book.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I had missed book 2 to this series so I gather that I’ve missed out on quite a bit but this story continues with Angela who takes her son and runs from her ex an alpha werewolf and leader of his pack. Jack wants to protect Angela but he can’t do it on his own so he goes to his maker to ask for help he doesn’t want to but he has no choice he will do anything to keep Angela safe. Fantastic story I enjoyed it immensely and I recommend this book.
This is the 3rd book in the Dark Ink Tattoo series. It left off where the first book ended. The second book was more of a back story of the MC. I enjoyed it. Warning- there is OW/OM. This series is definitely a slow burn. There is way more interaction between Angela and Jack, which is awesome. I'd been waiting for it. I would definitely recommend if you're into hot paranormal. I was lucky enough to receive an advanced reader copy
I love this story. It keeps getting better and better with each installment. I love the cliff hanger and sneak peek at the end. I love the steamy scenes and sexy characters. The will they or won’t they attraction between Angela and Jack is amazing! I just wish Angela wouldn’t let Mark push her around so much - I’d love to see her stand up for herself! I can’t wait for the next book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Book 3 and still going strong. The storyline is great and keeps you enthralled and needing more. So many series by book 3 you get a bit bored NOT THIS ONE. It starts out good and gets better leaving you NEEDIN more by the end. Rabbit is there and he is a key side character as anyone who has read the other two books will know why. For those who don't Rabbit is Angela's son and that is all you get on him so read the books! I got a free ARC copy and this is my honest review.
