I would have love to finish this one, because it has my favorite tropes, surpassing my expectations, however I DNF because there wasn’t enough angst for my taste. The budding relationship between them was a bit too straightforward. Hero was really a beta & I wanted otherwise——-a dark, mysterious, brooding man. Nonetheless, a decent read, the beginning was fast paced with three-dimensional characters all around... There are two forced seductions performed by the hero, of course. Matrimony duty for the first time & another scene out of anger/lust…

A "marriage of convenience" story, a vivid early Victorian backdrop, likeable Mcs with alot of chemistry and passion between them and misunderstandings that get cleared at the end. Overall I really enjoyed this book. However, The h has to make slot of adjustments after her marriage though she would act a bit impulsive at times, I didn't like that the hero tried to give her bad sex in the beginning just to punish her especially since she is a virgin and he is so experienced.

I don't understand the good rating, this book (in my opinion) is awful.
