The h moves to Sydney (THE BIG SMOKE)Australia after inheriting a home from her Godmother. I didn't know that Sydney was referred to as the Big Smoke, so I learned something new. The h was actually looking forward to getting away from her family in the country as they had become overprotective after she experienced a near rape attack.
She gets a job as a receptionist where she is pretty much universally liked. She is pretty, kind, warm hearted, friendly and outgoing. She immediately has a couple of negative run-ins with the boss who is a buttoned up, serious minded introvert who has a five year plan that allows no personal relationships.
The HR officer has decided that they make a good match based on their personality tests and she surrepticiously contrives to match them up in a team building exercise called "blind date". Hence the title of the book.
The h falls in love quite quickly but the H puts up a manly resistance because he really doesn't want to give up his 5 year plan. However the obstacles are overcome and HEA achieved.
I liked the book despite the Pollyanna heroine.

So, in the interests of full disclosure, I must admit one reason I enjoyed this book was that the hero's obsession with getting his business affairs in order before marrying is one I've used. A touch above many boss-employee relationship stories because the hero's wealth isn't emphasized, he's shown to be vulnerable on several fronts, and the heroine isn't particularly career-focused. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but often these stories have a clash of ambitions, so I appreciated the different approach here. I also love what the couple bonded over. On the other hand, the HR at the company seems a bit suspect.

4 ½ Stars! ~~~ Sally Finch loves her job with Blackstone Consultants, but falling for the boss, Logan Black is not something she bargained for. Logan's not looking for romance or relationships. He's got a five year plan to follow and there's not a woman in the world that's going to steer him from it. Well, that is until Sally. She's charmed him. And when she helps him out of a bind by teaching him to waltz, he's become enchanted. He's got to call it quits though before he gets too of course of his plan and before he hurts Sally.

I adore reluctant heroes! Logan's so sure that there is no room in his life for love, until it hits him right between the eyes. Sally's instints have been shaken when it comes to men, but she's sure that Logan is a stand up guy. I loved how she stands up to him when he tries to reject her. This story has it all ... a fiesty heroine, a delicious hero, wonderful chemistry, and a Cinderella ball!

I loved the book. Read the whole book Friday and was completely enthralled. Although i wish it was longer. I felt there is more to the story that can be told. Other than that I loved every moment of it. I am just a hopeless romantic :)
