Having only recently learned of twice-exceptionality, I really appreciated the thorough, clear, and practical overview of how to better understand the experience and needs of 2E children. I feel as though this book has given me the missing piece to helping my kiddo really thrive, and I'm so immensely grateful to have found it.

We've worked with Emily in person and enjoy her podcast so I knew I'd find this useful. Some sections didn't apply to us as much (because we homeschool and that isn't likely to change in the near future) but there was still a lot of well presented valuable information here. It will be going on my shelf for future reference ...after I make my husband read it :-)

There are very few books specifically for parents regarding 2e kids. This book isn't perfect - particularly, generalizing "children" when often the examples apply best to teens - but it's a much-needed addition to move the conversation forward, and especially to provide parents raising twice-exceptional children of all types. It's practical, easy to read, and easy to use as a handbook to reference a particular aspect of 2e kids' development.

Having 2 twice exceptional kids, and finding out at age 40 that I have been twice exceptional my whole life, this book is an absolute God-send. It is so comprehensive and feels like it's talking directly to my soul. I really can't recommend this book enough if you have any 2e people on your life...

Exceptionally helpful. I think this is the best book on 2E kids that I have come across. It is full of helpful tips on how to help our kids work on emotional regulation, develop their executive functioning skills, etc. I checked it out from the library and I think I will buy a copy as a reference book.

This was fine, but the tone was definitely "be afraid of how hard the child's time in school will be." Lots of fear-mongering about getting a diagnosis too early and getting it wrong, but also about not getting a diagnosis until the child has already started to struggle because the coping/masking techniques aren't working any more.
