This book is well on its way to becoming a true children's classic. Early reviews of the story and the tickle me concept are creating a very positive reaction from everyone that reviews the book. The story is about a loveable rascal that has just flown in from Planet Tickle. His mission is to tickle any child who happens to follow along in this book. Parents read aloud and ...more

I got this "kit" for my kids and it was a BIG HIT! Hats off to Josie Bissett. The set came with The Tickle Monster book and Tickle Monster Gloves, which matched the character from the book. As we read the story my husband put on the gloves and "changed" into the Tickle Monster and we followed the direction of the book. I used this to teach my little ones the importance of laughing each day... lets just say mission accomplished.

Here's another one where my rating is quite different from everyone else's.

I liked the illustrations but come on. "Here let me prove it--holy moly kind kitties, The next place to tickle is your under-arm pitties"?

Or is it because I'm not a parent?

If I could give this more than 5 stars I would! This book fills your home with genuine laughter - nothing better than a child's giggle. This will do it!

This book caught my eye because the cover is cute! This book is a rhyming book kind of like Dr. Seuss's books. It didn't have much of a theme or lesson you could learn from it but it was a good book to read for down time or for younger students to read on their own. It was a fun book and easy read for younger elementary kids. Though it wasn't my favorite child book I've read it wasn't horrible, but I would pick Dr. Seuss before this book.

I want to hat this book so badly, every time I have to read it... Again. But the kid giggles and the gloves make me go back every time my kids make me read this bloody book, again.

Having just landed his spaceship from Planet Tickle, Tickle Monster is silly and fun, loving to tickle young children, even children of all ages!

The rhyming text leads you to each place this Tickle Monster will attack next throwing in a bit of anticipation when a page end with "..." and you must turn that page to find the spot.

The illustrations are large and colorful and as you can see by the pictures above, there is absolutely NO fear involved with this "monster." This is a fun and easy book

There are many things to like about this book, including the word play, colorful images, and generally light-hearted approach to a special tickle-cuddle time between an adult and a young child. Many will enjoy and reread it as a joyous experience.
I'm really ticklish on the subject matter, since I've been aware of too many children to whom tickling is an intrusive, uncomfortable, or even threatening experience. As harsh (and, to some, distorted) as my take on this may be, I really had a

If there is anything I have learned in my 5.5 months of life, it is this: adults expect you to laugh when tickled. I give them a laugh once in a while to throw them a bone. They're working so hard to entertain me.

As for the laughter kit, for a while I simply enjoyed trying to put the monster gloves in my mouth and didn't even realize there was a book being read to me. But now that I've tasted the gloves (deliciously fuzzy...), some of my attentional resources are diverted to the story. I must sa

This book holds a very close second as my favorite children's book. (Cozy Classics being first) I was so in love with it the first time I read it while watching a friend’s four year old son that I read it every time i was over there from then on. The tickle monster in this book is completely silly. He says his job is to make the whole world happy and boy does he do that job well. If you as an adult are not giggling by the time you are done this book then you

Fantastic!!! My 16 month old son received this for a gift one month ago and he requests it daily! He loves it. It is so much fun to read! I love how it flows, the illustrations and the giggles it produces. I highly recommend this. It was even a hit when read to his cousin through FaceTime with virtual tickling. Each cousin had fun pretending to tickle the other. My son loves wearing the tickle monster mitts to tickle others and dress up. We may have found our Halloween costume for this year. My ...more

This is the story about the Tickle Monster who came from Planet Tickle. He has one goal- and that is to bring joy and laughter to the world. The story has great rhymes and such a positive feeling that it is hard not to be happy when you are reading this story. One of my favorite lines in the book is, “I’m all in a tizzy, quite frizzy and dizzy, My fingers are squiggly, your piggies are wiggly." This is just one example of how the author creates silly words and a lighthearted feeling. I would not ...more

My son loves this book. Sometimes we tickle in a fit and others we just read it together while he looks at the illustrations, which are HUGE and adorable. My little dude seems to laugh much more at the wordplay than the tickles, "arm-pitties" being the point where he erupts in laughter every time. We really like this book, but I do wish there was a board book version because our copy has been ruined now with tears and spills. I'll have to buy another and keep it in the closet because we can't be ...more

32 months - who hasn't pretended to be a Tickle Monster to their kids?!? Well If not here's an opportunity to get in on the action. I'm not sure how great the pictures or story are but I sure know O had a great time reading it and being tickled like crazy. If you're not tickling a child while reading this book YOUR DOING IT WRONG! PS don't make this the last book before sleep... Super silliness!

A couple weeks later I was in Goodwill and found the book for $2... Well how could I leave it on the s

Memorable Book:

I believe this book is memorable because the illustration is phenomenal and the book flows flawlessly. Each page is beautifully made; it makes it a great picture book, a book children will want to read. The language conveyed in this book is very easy to read and easy to understand, especially for children at a young age. The author of the book made it so that the following line would rhyme with the line before. This is very appealing to children. It is also something that appeals

I really enjoyed this silly book! When I was growing up my mom would always play "tickle monster" and I always had so much fun. This book can probably relate to most children and makes them laugh. The illustrations were brightly colored yet simple- very fitting for the book. I also enjoyed the rhyming in the book. As well as the illustrations and plot I liked how the book used made up names for each body party being tickled such as "armpitty" this really gave the story a light, silly feel. Overa ...more

This book is so cute! I loved all of the illustrations and the rhymes are adorable. The monster and his lovies are so cute, it makes me sick. Christopher was asleep when I opened it last night, so I read it by myself. I found myself smiling at the cute rhymes and pictures. I can't wait to read this with Chris! I was pleasantly surprised, when I opened the book and found it was signed, too. I loved Jane on Melrose Place! ;-)

So cute! I bought this for a friend's child a few years ago but never read it with him. His little sister chose it as last night's best time story and I haven't had so much fun before. She made me put on the tickle gloves and read the story through. However, I missed the big tickle-a-thon at the end because the book doesn't set it up as well as it does for the early tickles. Or as Miss 4 said "you read it wrong, Bianca".
The rhyming text makes this a fun guessing game. With each page turn, readers have the opportunity to guess what part of the body the monster will tickle next. But there are a few not so easy to guess rhymes such as "...holy moly kind kitties- the next place to tickle is your...underarm-pitties!" This can interrupt the flow of participation. Nevertheless, it's a fun read that will get everyone giggling.
