Action packed and suspenseful! This was another thrilling installment that deals with twisted politics, dark creatures, protective family, and so much more! I can’t wait for to see what happens next.
I love the Conjuring a coroner series!!! The characters are entertaining (especially Kasey & her family). The plot kept me so engrossed in the story, I could not put my kindle down.
Samuel Stokes – Conjuring a Coroner Bl 10 – Death Warmed Up – Reviewed 6/4/22 – Read 6/3/22
An unexpected invite to the Counsel meeting turns into a possible death sentence for Kasey!
Not knowing what she was walking into, Kasey was a little nervous. Normally Sanders would have let her know if there was an unscheduled meeting planned. She figured that this was most likely about the Feudal Court and how she managed to destroy it and dispose of their vampire king, Rhain. Kasey also knew that Marion Strang, the director of the ADI, the Council’s law enforcement arm, was unhappy that Kasey was not ruled under her thumb and that Sanders gave her the right to build her own team. She figured that Strang wanted to get rid of Kasey, but it never occurred to her that she wanted Sander’s job as head of the ADI. To accomplish this, Strang has charged Kasey as being a Warlock; if found guilty is a death sentence, then she will go after Sanders if he tries to protect Kasey, and the story begins.
Join Kasey as she sits and watches things unfold in court as her lawyer battles for her life…
What did I like? This whole series has always been fascinating and action-packed, and I was not sure that Sam could make it any better or jack up the intensity to even more exciting! Wow, was I ever wrong, and I don’t mind admitting it. He certainly took it over the top with this one, plus set us up for the next book that sounds even more interesting.
What will you like? It’s a race to see who will go down in this one. Kasey is fighting for her life, learning so much more about her family and the background around the man she knows now that she loves, Sanders. He has stood behind her from the beginning, and she knows now that he will always be there. Together, they will fight this to the death, and hopefully, Kasey won’t be the first one to go down. This book is one in this series you just don’t want to miss, pick up your copy of SC Stokes's next book in the Conjuring a Coroner series, “Death Warmed Up,” available NOW!!!

Kasey barely finished saving New York when another killer appears and seems to be after her. To top it all off the head of the Supernatural security forces are bent on killing her as well. Kasey is back on the job but with a bit more help and a bit more knowledge to save not only the city but her own life as well. She faces the obstacles and of course overcomes and even through the worse odds wins. I would once again like to thank S.C. Stokes for giving me ability to review his book. I think this one was the best so far. It kept me reading late into the night. :) One caution however. If you don't like fantasy and all the supernatural including mythological and magic be aware it is here. Other than that it is a fun exciting read to enjoy.
It seems that no matter how many times Kasey saves her city from assorted paranormal creatures, there's always somebody in the organization for which she works who wants to see her punished for her supposed bad deeds. It seems everybody has an agenda that involves her. Whether it is the Wendigo wanting her to feed, the Summer Queen of the Fairies who want her to do something, or the new head of the Arcane Council's ADI (like the FBI) who wants her dead; no pressure at all there. This is a series worthy of binge reading from the very beginning and I will patiently wait for the next book in the series.
love the series, facts need to be ironed out sometimes though
This series has been quite a fascinating journey and I’ve loved following Kasey through it. My only negatives occur when the facts of the story don’t line up with previous books; like in this book, when Kasey discusses how she hadn’t seen Vida since they saved his life at the private medical facility. But she speaks with him during book 8 when they bring the body of the venomed man to him after the crime scene at the book store and Kasey being attacked by the team of Gnomes, Savage Garden. Other than the little inaccuracies, the story has been amazing!
Mr. Stokes writing and imagination never disappoints. Kasey is once again up to her eyeballs with trouble. She continues to battle enemies as well as some who should be on her side. She also had to battle with others in the court system, the actual court with lawyers and jurors. Then a wendigo. Luckily her mother and her Druid family get into the action. It’s never a dull moment throughout this book. You’ll want to set aside some time to read it because you won’t want to put the book down until the end. And what an exciting end it is. Mr. Stokes writing and imagination never disappoints.
Kasey is accused of using forbidden magic and must be tried in the Feudal Court. Even though she has saved the city numerous times there are those who want her taken down permanently. This is one battle Kasey is going to need help with. But who can she trust? This is an edge of your seat read with never ending action and excitement! This book is extremely well written with an amazing plot, characters you will never forget, villains who look like friends. So, what is a good Witch to do? You won't put this book down until you finish it because it's terrific!!!
Kasey is back and she is always good at getting into trouble and this time is no different. Lots of action, danger, surprises and my favorite characters wondering in at times. Plus some intrigue and family time. Easy to read and so hard to put down. Glued to the end as I had to see what happened next and kept reading one more chapter to see what was revealed next. Entertaining and fun to read.
Another winner! This series gets better and better. Kasey is on trial for using the Forbidden … she wants to free Sanders from his obligation to the Summer Court … The Wendigo is after her … The Earth Spirit wants her help … Can she juggle all these balls? You won’t be able to put this down. I can’t wait to find out what happens next. I received a free copy of this book, with no obligation.
Kasey, Sanders, Bishop and Vida end up working another case together, while Strang is attacking Kasey to gain power. They solve the murder case and make progress towards helping Sanders clear his debt to the Summer Queen. Can’t wait for the next installment and see what happens with Strang nd Kasey’s other enemies.
Loved the book. Action from start to finish is always part of this series whether it’s running from werewolves or battling members of the arcane council. The characters have developed over the series and pull me into the book to see what they will face.
Death Warmed Up, in Mr. Stokes's Kasey Chase series is one of those books you can't put down. Mr. Stoke's ability to entertain us is above par. His use of intrigue, suspense, and humor is nicely developed, and his characters are so personable they are like your best friends. His scenes are developed, to the point, but not so flowery that you lose interest. And one of my favorite things is he keeps me one my toes with surprises I would never expect and book 10 is full of them. I can't mention any of them 'cuz it would spoil the book. Like the game night with Vida, Bishop, Jack, Kasey and Vida's new friend. Then there's Talora. And don't forget Kasey's trial where book 9 left off. Wow just Wow. You'll never have a bored moment reading Death Warmed Up.
This is a magnificent story. Once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down until I finished. I recommend this story to anyone who enjoys magic and action stories.
It never rains but it pours on Kasey’s parade. With all kinds of supers after her, the ADI, the Summer and Winter Courts she hardly has time to breathe. All in all a very good story.
This tenth book in this fascinating series was another enjoyable and entertaining read. As with the other books in this series, there were the odd inconsistencies, however, they didn't detract from this story. Looking forward to book eleven!
Plenty of action and suspense to draw you into the story. What strong and amazing characters that keep the story perfect. I absolutely enjoyed it and hope for more.
Another great read in this series. Each book always has so many interesting moments that.the reader is totally engrossed. Get characters and storyline.
I always love Kasey books and this one was no exception. Kick ass heroine. Plenty of action and twists and turns in the plot. I read this in one sitting.
