Blake isn’t sure when her relationship began to unravel but the very vivid dreams she’s having of another woman aren’t helping. Not far away, Leia is having the same dreams but unlike Blake, she knows what triggered them: a lightning-fast encounter since which she hasn’t been able to get the stranger’s green eyes out of her head. As the dreams become more and more important to both women, they try to find each other.
There are all sorts of things in this novel that should have bothered me but I was having too much fun to care. At first, I didn’t like either MC much, they were both too self-centred, and the humour was too crass for me most of the time. The story is told in past tense (first person, alternate POV) but the author keeps lapsing into present tense. Because they spend so much time only meeting in dreams, the MCs aren’t really together on the page for more than half the book. It works, somehow, but I really liked them most together. Blake’s foul mouth and her friendship with Ty made me snort more than once, and Leia’s openness was endearing.
This book is a lot of fun, even though it’s not the most subtle. Or maybe because it isn’t. It’s in your face, and it could be too much but it’s also a nice change. If this book was a person, I’d say they’re loud and probably exhausting after a while but fun to be around when you want to have a good time. I believe this is the author’s debut, and while not entirely my cup of tea, I enjoyed it more than I expected and will definitely read more. Haley’s story should be interesting…
Dream sequences are sparked after two women accidentally bump into each other. I was completely hooked by the storyline and didn't put this one down until the end, whew...rooting for a HEA. Lawyer, Blake who's firmly on the ladder to success and Leia, a "boudoir"/freelance photographer' both seem successful in their respective lives and careers until fate steps in. Dreams with blurred faces and tattoos cause untimely disruptions and the search for that elusive someone dangles tantalizingly. An unusual plot, clear writing and descriptions plus nicely fleshed out supporting characters particularly Haley, Shannon/Shanny and Ty all add to Ms. Taylor's excellent debut book. I should also mention the book cover is great! Looking forward to what comes next and easily recommend with 5 stars.
I rec'd a copy through Booksprout and this is a voluntary, unbiased review.
What a wonderful book! I was very excited to receive this book from Abby, I read the original version of this book in June 2022, and this new reimagined version is extraordinary and beautiful, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The undeniable connection between Leia and Blake is evident from their interactions and chemistry, suggesting that they are destined to be together. I loved the dynamics and storyline of their encounter, finding it both fantastic and conceptually intriguing. I loved the overarching theme of the book, which explored the concept of soulmates and the idea that two are meant to find each other. It was a truly beautiful and captivating read.
I also liked all the other characters in this book. There's Blake's gay best friend, Ty. He's sassy and hilarious, always cracking jokes and telling it like it is. Then there's Leia's colleague and friend, Haley. She's always there for Leia, both at work and when it comes to her love life. And of course, we can't forget Shannon, Leia's best friend who loves the ladies but is always there to give her advice. They're all such great side characters.
I am a great admirer of Abby's work, and this reimagined version of the book is truly excellent. I highly recommend this book, and if you are not already reading this, I encourage you to obtain a copy for yourself. I am confident that you will not be disappointed.
Star rating. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice rating. 🔥🔥🔥 a few detailed scenes, no FTB.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
What happens when an accidental bump between two complete strangers leads to vivid dreams and past life memories? If you’d like to find out, then definitely read this one. I absolutely loved Blake’s foul mouth, Ty’s snarky irreverent comments, and Haley’s upbeat positivity. The book is told from both Leia and Blake’s points of view which really gave the reader good insight into both of their thoughts and feelings. I’m as big of fan of steamy scenes as the next gal, but I really didn’t think we needed the scene between Blake and her ex early in the book. I did enjoy the plot development and was thrilled when Blake and Leia finally connected. The last 1/4 of the book was a little juvenile with neither main wanting to communicate their feelings. Overall this was a fun read that made me laugh out loud quite a few times. I look forward to reading the next book in the series!
Wow, for someone who hasn’t written a short story before, Abigail Taylor, did a wonderful job with her debut novel. This was a story about finding your soul mate or your missing piece.
Both of the main characters were engaging and the author developed funny, interesting supporting characters such as Ty, Greg, Shannon, and Haley. Many of the things Ty said and did were laugh out loud hilarious. Looking forward to the next story about Haley and Iris, the bartender.
This is one of the stranger books I've read, where the two characters accidentally touch and then start having strange dreams and go into trances whenever they are near the other. Neither know what the other looks like but are enamoured by them. Eventually they meet but things don't do as smoothly as they should for two people destined to be together. Good book.

I love the idea of soulmates and people have a past life together. I have most of the original books in the series, but hadn't gotten to them. I am so glad I read this version. Poor Blake was so much in her head that she feared the worst at one point. Leia is so sure she will find her dream woman she gets a tattoo as a way to send a message in her dreams. I loved it and look forward to the next one " First Love -Reimagined"
This is a book that I really enjoyed reading. I do like the soulmate premise and that Leia, a photographer and Blake an attorney eventually find their way to each other. The fact that they had lived other lifetimes together is nice to see, told in the snippets when they dream. I look forward to reading more from this series.

Forever Love is an engaging FF romance. Blake and Leia are an opposites attract situation since they have such differing views on how to live their lives. They are both likable characters who have good chemistry. Blake and Leia literally bump into each other on the street. This starts each of them on a mystical search for the person they believe is their "missing piece." I really enjoyed the dream aspect of this book. It was a unique way to tell their story. I look forward to reading more by this new author.
I thought this book was interesting. The premise was different and the storyline flowed nicely.
Blake was a little of a different MC because she was kind of bristly, but she grew on me. Leia was a little more laid back, but she wasn't as dynamic as Blake was.
I was intrigued by the title of the book at first. I was thinking this could be a drama love story. Reading the first review of the book gave it away. I immediately bought it and was totally hooked when I start reading it.
I like how the characters where written and how the dialogues where carried out specially those dialogues that declares Blake and Leia love for each other. That's heart felt moment.
I also love how the other supporting characters where written. I think what I would remember on this book are: 1- the first time Blake met Leia. It was like watching a scene in an indie love story film. 2- the scavenger hunt. Although the concept or the idea of it is not new but it was intense. 3- the tattoo that Blake had to match Leia's one. That's an epic for this story.
I hope everyone enjoys reading this book as much as I did.
The first edition of this book was the first book of Abigail Taylor's I ever read. I loved it, and I am still reading every book she writes. Blake and Leia have a brief chance encounter on a busy street. Then strange events begin to happen. Neither Blake nor Leia can tell when they might get a vision of a female they don't know. But they both want to know more. Abby can write a great story. She just pulls everything together in a way that makes you want to know more. The side characters are people I enjoy reading about also. I wish I could give it 10 stars. But alas, I can't. I highly recommend this book. Enjoy.
That moment when everything changes but things remain the same. Bumping in the street causes two people to begin to dream of mystery women (each other).
Jae's SRC speculative fiction character is a business owner
I'm a sucker for rom-coms and this was a read I needed! Love the unique story line and how easy it was for me to invest in the characters lives! The author has an amazing sense of humor that keeps you laughing aloud in each chapter!
This soul mate romance is a beautiful light, sweet and funny love story.
Leia and Blake are a strong and bold heroines. Their lives are well-organized and they have amazing jobs that they love, but something is missing or maybe someone?
They meet by chance on a busy street for a very fleeting moment and from this moment on their life changes completely. The search for the nameless dream woman begins. Their wild very vivid dreams and constant thoughts about each other are the only thing both women can concentrate on. In a short span of time their organized and quiet lives change drastically to a frantic search for the unknown soul mate.
I enjoyed this beautiful love story and I'm curious about this author's other books ❤
The dream-sequence soul-mates-through-time aspect of this romance is an interesting twist. Based on the images leading up to their actual meeting the couple seems to be well matched. There is also a good supporting cast to provide insights into both Blake and Leia. That said, their here and now relationship comes across as less than ideal. They achieve their HEA but it seems tenuous.
Leia is it photographer and has her own business. Blake is a lawyer and is a member of a law firm. The characters are very good and the plaid is good. Both women keep having dreams about each other but they can’t find each other. And how it finally comes to be. I recommend this book Raul who like love and romance and a little intrigue.
Sweet love story between Blake and Leia. This is the first book I've read from this author. Her good read soul mates a perfect love story. Thanks for a very enjoyable read.
This novel was fine, and I truly mean that; firmly middle-of-the-road. I think that experiences may vary for this one depending on the reader. It clearly says it’s a “soul mate romance” but I didn’t expect it to be so literal and direct with that description, so I guess that’s on me.
The novel was objectively good in a lot of ways; the writing was well done, the characters were detailed and distinct, the side characters were fun, and there were some random fun details scattered throughout. I found myself engaged and page-turning as I waited to see how the characters would end up getting together. It wasn’t groundbreaking, but it was an enjoyable read.
My main issue was the romance, which unfortunately counts for a lot of “points” considering it’s a romance novel and that’s the entire point. From my perspective
The last section of the novel was also incredibly annoying and a strange choice in my opinion.
Based on reviews, i wanted to read the second book in this series. But i figured i'd start at the beginning. And wow, the beginning of this book was compelling. A real page turner with a supernatural element. Even though both of our MCs were flawed and borderline unlikable, I couldn't wait for them to meet. (Though, i do have to say what the photographer did to her assistant, Haley - that was not OK. That lady should have quit and filed a sexual harassment lawsuit.) This books gets a lot of great reviews, so it seems a lot of people really liked it. For me the 2nd half of the book became trope central, and i almost DNF (actually, i dnf the epilogue). I tried to speedread past the manufactured drama that nullified the brilliance of the first half of the book. Really, our characters turned into complete scared and non-communicating idiots. I don't buy the HEA. Not sure if i'll read the second book now - if the author is going to throw complete lack of communication after a set up like this. I am not sure what that means for the remaining books.
At the beginning they bump into each other and there is an electric shock. Though they didn't get to see each faces they keep having dreams about the other. They learn through that he dreams they're soul mates, but have not meet yet. The extra characters are well developed and help support the main characters. A well developed love story looking for your soul mate. They're out there you just got to find them.
For a first in a series, this was really fun and sweet. I loved how the characters grow, even if it felt a little fast, but hey that is why it is fantasy. There are laugh-out-loud moments that had to be highlighted. I will be stealing a few phrases to say the least. I love the role that karma/the universe plays throughout the book.
Recommend as a fun, sweet, hot and steamy, quick read!
This book is a fun speculative fiction kind of thing-what with the other lives thing. The writing is so good that I only minded a little the slowth of the main characters' relationship development. I definitely recommend this book to persons who have a well developed sense of humor, and who are willing to suspend disbelief for their reading experience.
Getting out of the stuff of everyday life is why I read, and this story did that in a very lovely way. Whether you believe in soul mates or not, it is a great book, with engaging characters and wonderful support cast.
