Genre: Nonfiction/Nutrition/Cookbook 📖
Thoughts: I really enjoy the author Dr. Heather Finley's work, so I was excited to receive a copy of her new book.🤗
Although this is marketed for individuals with digestive issues, I think anyone could benefit from the science in this book around gentle nutrition in consideration to digestion.
At the beginning of the book, she discusses a lot of information around digestion and what affects it. I really enjoy the way she approaches this. It is not based on restriction or diet culture. It's about looking at multiple areas of health (nutrition, sleep, stress, etc.). She has a lot of good tips and takeaways that I will use with clients.👏👏👏
There are also some great ideas about adding in gentle nutrition to support gut health. I think gut health is really trendy right now, and there is a lot of misinformation around it in the news. This book does a great job around the science but making it digestible 😂 to understand!
This is a great book and reference I will use with clients! Really, well done! 🫶❤️

Have had IBS for 30 years, this book actually gave me some new info and some helpful strategies.
Couple of good resources included.

March 31, 2024A lot of it is helpful except for the recipes. The narrative explains things like the mind gut connection but she downplays FOSMAPs so I can’t use a single recipe no matter how positive my attitude.
