There’s a reason they call Lebron James “The King 👑”. While MJ is the greatest of all time, lebron is still an incredible player and figure in society. Not only has he worked ridiculously hard to make it to the nba as an inner city kid growing up with little money and without a father in Akron, Ohio, he also stands up for those who are oppressed and he is pushing to this day for change. He has a number of charities including the Lebron James family foundation, and the I promise foundation and he supports underprivileged kids all across America, especially in his hometown of Akron.

LeBron is the face of the NBA. He is a superstar and talented on and off the court. LeBron: Life Lessons from the King is an inspirational biographical account about LeBron James.

If you are a fan of LeBron's this book is for you. It tells the story of his upbringing and how he made it to the NBA. His childhood wasn't the best, which is one of his biggest motivators to keep striving for greatness. You'd think that a superstar athlete like LeBron wouldn't still have to go to the gym early to perfect the fundamentals and be willing to add to his arsenal but that is not the case. LeBron's love of the game started early and is still going strong. He has reached so many highs and lows in his career that he always wants to put himself in a position to thrive and come out on top. His success opened the doors for him to succeed in many other ventures like acting and business.

What is so inspiring about his story is that you can tell he doesn't live his life for the money. Sure, it's an excellent security blanket for him to provide for his family but it isn't everything. He is humble and gives back whenever he can. He also isn't afraid to stand up for what is right.

There's so much to find motivating about his story and there are some wonderful quotes from LeBron to give readers that extra push. And the illustrations are so colorful and cool like the man himself.

I give LeBron: Life Lessons from a King 4 stars. I think this is a must-have for NBA fans. It gives readers a backstory of LeBron and an insight into his life. You will see how hard work and determination really paid off for the King.

Thank you Castle Point Books for gifting me with a finished copy!

One time in middle school, my PE teacher was so fed up with me being awful at anything athletic that she pulled me aside mid dodgeball game to give me throwing lessons. While the game was going on. And of course that was the same teacher who humiliated me by telling me to just throw a mini basketball (not even an actual basketball!) through a hula hoop for the rest of gym class instead of using the actual basketball hoop.

Needless to say, I’ve never been interested in sports, and especially not basketball.

So I was surprised that I ended up actually really liking this easy-to-read inspirational/factual overview of LeBron James. I’ve always been fascinated by people’s dedication and connection to sports because I never, ever understood it, but it made sense after reading this. Again, I knew NOTHING about basketball prior to this book, so I’m not sure if the information provided was common knowledge for fans, but I felt like I learned a decent amount. It was written in an engaging yet simplistic manner without dumbing down the sentences. The format of the book was concise and I especially appreciated the vibrant illustrations. I’d say it’s probably better for a younger audience…or as a Christmas gift for a 23 year old man, which is what I used it for.

LEBRON: Life Lessons From the
King
Thank you very much to @stmartinspress for my gifted
copy!
We're basketball fans in this home (Spurs Forever) but I
love LeBron.
I know he's a basketball legend but have you seen him
in Trainwreck?
That was my favorite part of the memoir. Learning his
part in Trainwreck was originally supposed to be a
short cameo but LeBron had bigger plans.
On a more serious note - his biography dives into his
upbringing. The challenges he faced (intentionally not
going into it) but how he beat the odds and was drafted
right out of high school at 18-years old
Recommend to any basketball fan of course but also
anyone who enjoys a motivational success story.

Inspirational and informative. It felt repetitive by the end. Still worth the read if you don’t know Lebron’s history.
