As each piece in Fate's twisted plan locks into place, she raises the stakes...

Slice, dismember or maim, Raine forges powerful weapons for any purpose. When her most lethal creation falls into enemy hands, she'll cross every forbidden line to retrieve it. Including, teaming up with a wicked Fallen who makes her blood boil. If the mortal realm didn't depend on her, she'd behead him.

To secure his soul's freedom, Slater must first endure Hell. Literally. Until his plan goes up in hellfire when he loses his only bargaining chip—a deadly weapon crafted by an angelic killer. Now, he must convince her to become his ally. Immortals fear her...but he loves playing with fire.

As their passion and hate collide on the battlefield, these two ancient enemies must join forces to save the world...unless they kill each other first.

Each book in the series features a different main couple with a swoony HEA (no cliffhangers!). But if you'd like to follow along with the baddie's story, the series is best read in order.

I have said before that "boys with wings are heavenly", i will now add that "girls with wings are dynamite".

Fate is kicking it up a notch in this one. A Fallen and an Angel, forbidden and ferocious. Fate can be a bit twisted.

Raine is one badass babe. Lover and maker of all things stabby. Her most dangerous creation was stolen and she has been banished to the mortal realm on an impossible mission. She'll do anything to get the weapon back, including team up with a roguish Fallen.

Slater has endured hellfire, even hell itself. Teaming up with the dangerous woman who makes his blood sing is his best shot at retrieving the weapon now in the hands of an angelic killer.

Sworn enemies teaming up together.... It's sure to be one helluva ride.

Raine is definitely a prickly one. But Slater isn't afraid of her at all. Idiot. She could send him back to the pits with a flick of her wrist. All the knife throwing and stabbing is like really hot dangerous foreplay. I kept thinking that when they finally get together it will be explosive, if they don't kill each other first. There is a lot of tension between them. Hate and attraction are a perilous combo.

There are a lot of secrets and layers in this one. Even though it can be read as a stand alone, I would advise reading the first 3 books in order as they provide background, and the Blaine & Fate parts of the story get more fleshed out with each book.

Thatcher was a great little addition - shortlived, but an enjoyable scene.

We finally see some of Raine's secrets being revealed and they are epic revelations. When she finally let's her guard down a smidge with Slater it is a tempest of heat and fury. And that bond is as bright and sharp as one of her blades.

The changes seen in Slater towards the end are quite unexpected and give me, and the Guardians, hope that not all is lost when it comes to their brother of darkness. Blaine was missing a bit of his usual cocky swagger, but I'm sure it'll be back in full force after the way this one ended. I can't wait to see where the story goes next.

Untamed gives us the ultimate enemies to lovers story! I absolutely loved Raine and Slater’s banter and their nicknames for one another. Raine is on a quest to fulfill her destiny and refuses to be deterred by things like friendship and smoking hot hell boys. She has the weight of the world on her shoulders and Slater slowly but surely worms his way into her life. I liked how each character had a purpose given to them by fate and used any means available to fulfill said destiny. Slater is the quintessential bad boy with a heart of gold. *SWOON*

I’m giving this story 4 stars because there were a couple aspects of the FMC that I wasn’t a huge fan of. She was a little too bloodthirsty and stabby when interacting with Slater. I also found myself repeatedly confused by the characters in the book. Maybe because it had been so long since I’d read the prior books? I forgot a lot of the details of past events and similar names like Raven and River, for example, kept throwing me. A series binge reader probably won’t have this issue, but I kept finding myself trying to remember who was who.

I didn't realise it had been over a year since I read book #3 Unseen, and I thought I would have remembered enough, but I really wish I'd reread it and the other books before reading Untamed because it took me a little while to pick up the thread again and figure out what was going on. Once I did get back on track, I didn't want to put it down as I really wanted to know how everything that Fate has set up played out.

Raine is tough, but stands herself apart from those around her, never allowing them to get closer to really get to know her. When she bumps into Slater, a Fallen, and eventually chooses to work with him to find her missing sword, everything she has known and believed about her fate and about the Fallen, will come into question.

There was so much going on in this novel, twists and turns, characters turning on one another, hidden agendas and plenty of secrets, there was no way to know how it was all going to turn out and who would be left standing. Fate certainly has a lot to answer for with her scheming.

I loved catching up with all the Guardians and their partners and getting to know Raine and Slater.

I can't wait for the next book in the series, I hope it comes sooner rather than later because I need to know what happens next.

Raine isn't complicated - she likes sharp, pointy things and she has a destiny fulfil (thanks, Fate!). Nothing is going to get in her way, certainly not a Fallen who's been on Team Bad Guy this whole time. Slater craves freedom but he needs a certain item to achieve this - a weapon forged by Raine and a weapon she wants back. But he can't let her get it...and he can't lose his heart to her either.

Whew, sparks were definitely flying in this one. Raine and Slater are quite the pair - and I'm a sucker for random cats in my romances lol. If you've read books from this series before, you'll get exactly what you're expecting. I am getting a bit of fatigue over the main story arc since it does move forward quite glacially, but this is still a fun enemies-to-lovers romp (bonus cat - did I mention the cat?).

Oh my, the hotness!!! I love Raine and finally getting to discover why she is the way she is. My favorite aspect of this series is the way each book has its own main story yet interweaves a longer overall plot. The revelations had my jaw dropping. There is action, adventure, spicy romance, so much humor, and stunning twists! Slater quickly became one of my favorite characters of the series. These two have an epic journey you won't want to miss. I can't wait for more. Next up is Cole's book. He has been an interesting quieter character in all the books and this story made me wonder about him more. This is one of my must read authors and I have reread these books a couple times. Untamed is definitely one fans are going to fall in love with, laugh through, and growl at!

What do you get when you have a badass angel and a badass Fallen working together with an undeniable attraction bursting alive? Kickass action, hotheaded egos, word sparring, stabbyness galore and a hot passion waiting to erupt. These two made my year! This is not the usual boy loves girl or vice versa, rather, they fight their attraction at every turn, and phew... is it hot!!! ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!

I do love a fallen angel-angel tag team - especially when they're both such badasses and driven by forces so powerful that literally everything they do is critical. The reader gets no rest as this novel kicks off and boy is it a great read-ride. Raine is a perfect foil for our fallen hunk Slater. She is on a quest to retrieve a stolen item and teams up with the fallen one for adventures and spicy times.
This is an entertaining read - great relationship built between the two too.

I am really enjoying this series. WOW…Raine is force to be reckoned with and I absolutely love her and Slater’s story. She and Slater had a lot to deal with, before they reached their HEA. What an emotional roller-coaster!!!. This book has all of the elements you should expect in a great PNR; it is a page turner from beginning to end. Cassie Lealyn is an Amazing story teller and I highly recommend this series.

Raine has so many secrets tasked by Fate to keep them all and a mission only she and her brother know about. Until Slater, the Fallen angel, enters her life and entices her in a way he shouldn't when he's the enemy. When they are thrown together to complete their own separate missions, they find something neither of them imagined.

Very few authors can create a unique and well crafted world and fill it with larger than life characters that you fall for. Laelyn is one of them. Untamed is the best in her Fallen Guardians series so far. Raine and Slater's story is just so so good. It was impossible to put down and I finished it in go!

I love Raine! I now understand why she is the way she is :). I was kind of mad at Slater as I didn’t know what he had up his sleeve. There are definitely twists and turns in the plot I didn’t expect, it’s steamy, suspenseful, romantic, adventurous, mysterious. I loved being back in the Fallen Guardians world. I love that all the characters are continuing to be involved in the story line. Kudos Cassie!

Raine and Slater

Untamed is the fourth book in Laelyn's Fallen Guardians series and its my favorite. Slater and Raine are the lead characters and their chemistry is explosive. This story is filled with suspense, angst, betrayal, forgiveness, humor and sexy time. I have read each of the books in this series and each book keeps getting better. I can't wait to see what happens next. Will Blaine fill his destiny? Is River or Cole next to fall...or will we finally see the real connection between Fate and Blaine. Happy Reading!!
