4.5 Stars for Show Off: Seraph’s Burlesque Club, Book 2 (audiobook) by Renée Dahlia read by Kitty Mewl.

This is such a great setting for a romance. The pandemic is over and things are getting back to normal. Elle stops by the club and Charlie realizes that she wants more from her old friend with benefits. Elle’s career is taking off and she is trying to keep things professional but of course Charlie wears her down.

Book 2 in the S.B.C. series with its lush Club setting and intriguing characters. Charlie is seduction wrapped in a beautiful, supple body - strong and confident as a dancer she has no intention of settling down in a committed relationship. A hen's night party brings Elle to the Club, dragged there by her future sister-in-law. That reluctant visit becomes much more when fueled by Charlie's performance, the two meet backstage and Elle takes control - shy no more. Hot sex and a "friends with benefits" arrangement ensues until a pandemic sets in. As life goes there are ups, downs and in-betweens with Elle realizing her dream of having her own interior design company just before the chaos of lock downs. The business grows as people decide to spend their disposable income on renovations. With the easing of restrictions, the two women meet once again at the Club but it's not like before, emotions come into play plus Elle's company is handling a major redo/update of Seraph's interior. Charlie is dealing with family drama and keeping personal health secrets and Elle just wants to live her life without family pressure. They both want to move from FWB to more with each other but they have to learn to communicate before the HEA.
The author skillfully blends her sexy romance with the realities of living during a pandemic and the long term effects of surviving the virus. The stresses of changed personal and work environments, the uncertainty of a safe future and the angst of dealing with everything when normalcy returns.
I easily recommend this worthwhile hot read that made the snowy days zip by. Looking forward to the final book in the trilogy.

Elle arrives at the Seraph Burlesque Club for business only when she meets
Charlie. Sparks fly! They become friends with benefits. The pandemic
hits and Elle decides it’s time for a change. She starts her own interior design business and it takes off, but something is still missing.

Charlie is a beautiful, sexy burlesque dancer.
After the pandemic, Charlie struggles with going back to work, due to long term effects of Covid 19.
On top of dealing with the after effects of Covid, Charlie also deals with her mother dropping some major news on her.

Elle parents were toxic and put a lot of pressure on her. She felt like was never good enough. Elle is amazingly talented business woman with a kind heart.

When Charlie and Elle reconnect, the sparks are still there. But now Elle ha her reputation to be concerned about and Charlie is still dealing with Covid issues.

Will they put everything aside so that they could be together?

The book was a solid 3 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️

Show Off is the second book in Renée Dahlia’s Seraph’s Burlesque Club series. It can be read as a stand-alone, although I do also recommend checking out the first book.
This book continues to explore the post-COVID world as Renée Dahlia imagines it. However, while the references were more subtle in the first book, this one more directly references the long-term impacts of Covid, on both a macro and micro level. I particularly liked the exploration of a major character’s experience with long Covid, and the reflection on the fact that that person was not infallible, initially buying into the rhetoric that it was “just a flu.” Given all the misinformation spreading, and the way even seeing people they love/respect deal with it, hasn’t led to a wake-up call for many, I appreciated the textual growth as a contrast.
I really liked both Charlie and Elle, and rooted for them. Charlie is just now figuring out she wants something more than “casual” with Elle, to the point where it’s pretty much taken over her life and made it hard to go back to her “normal” pursuits. Meanwhile, Elle is preoccupied with her work, but she also has some lingering feelings for Charlie that she must keep from tarnishing the good thing she has going with her business.
This is another delightful installment in the series, and I’m excited for what’s still to come! If you’re looking for a fun, hopeful sapphic contemporary, you’ll enjoy this.

Great story! I appreciate the way the author addressed the pandemic and the after effects that many people are dealing with right now. The realistic portrayal of the good and bad that came out of a two year health crisis made the story very relatable.

In the beginning, Charlie is a confident, sexy, Burlesque dancer and Elle is a frustrated woman in a job she despises. A chance encounter, during the hen party of Elle’s future sister-in-law brings their worlds together, culminating in an electric experience.

Then the pandemic happens and the world turns upside drown. Elle has taken the opportunity to reinvent herself professionally and started her own business, while Charlie dealt with illness, isolation, and loneliness at the loss of her job (which allowed her to connect with others) and her hook-ups-which brought a different connection.

Post pandemic, Elle and Charlie reconnect and the air between them us once again charged. You will thoroughly enjoy these two women and the ride upon which their relationship takes them.

What I liked:
• Dual POV
• Realistic handling of the pandemic and all the positive and negative that resulted from it.
• Not a light read, but easy to navigate

I enjoyed the premise of this story a lot, and a lot of the interactions between the main characters was fun to read.

However the story was let down for me by the uneven pacing and depth of the book. There were too many times when a bombshell or plot point seemed just dropped in without buildup, making the impact severely weaker - if I didn't know why I should care before then it isn't going to work! In addition, too many times potentially interesting plot points just meandered away.

I did feel frustrated by many parts but Charlie and Elle were very hot together too!

This was a page-turning second book in a terrific F/F series. I loved how a couple who each have gripping emotional journeys can find each other again. The setting, including the burlesque club, is a hit from the start. The secondary characters are intriguing. The complexity of how to manage a relationship when both sides have secret aspects of their lives weaves a rich thread through this story. I cheered for Charlie and Elle every step of the way.

This book is best for those seeking humor and sensuality in their F/F romance.

This can be read as a one off but it’s much nicer to have met all the characters from Seraphs in book one.
Charlie the MC, and Elle the designer want to move from hookups to more. Each has their own issues to deal with first though. The setting is centred around the club this time and it was good to catch up with Reiko and Yolande from book 1. This was another good instalment from this series and I look forward to book 3.

Can you really say Hot and Loving in the same sentence and believe it?

I am so impressed with this series by Renee Dahlia. She has put together two, so far stories so different and using the same location, introducing characters that are lively, believable and interesting. It is a pleasure to read about the burlesque scene of which I know practically nothing. I am so looking forward to book three! What more can I learn? Who will I meet next? Come and join me in the next adventure that burlesque, sex and love will take us on.

Burlesque fun and games

Good to be back at Seraphs burlesque club in book 2 off the series.
Enjoyed catching up with characters from book 1 and reading Charlie and Ellies story.
