Honestly speaking, I was disappointed by first 70 pages and mediocrity of the plot, but then the simple folklore tale of 8-year world adventure of three suitors of Susan in pursuit of 100 rare birds turned into a panoramic depiction of Iraqi Kurdish Civil War (1994-1997) which was heartbreaking. After returning to the city, Kamaran has utterly changed into a new person and married Susan, Khaled developed an insatiable grudge and Mansor transformed into a wandering globetrotter. Mansor Esrin's farewell love letter to Susan was deeply humane and touching that made me cry!
