Today while we were in a session I realized, 'I have read Anandi',

Review: So, the story revolves around the life of Anandi, a young girl who grows up in a traditional Indian family. She faces various challenges in her life, including discrimination and oppression due to her gender, as well as societal norms and expectations. Despite these obstacles, Anandi strives to pursue her dreams and achieve her goals.

The novel is set in a rural Indian context and explores themes of gender, identity, and social inequality. It offers a glimpse into the struggles and aspirations of women in traditional Indian societies and the challenges they face in achieving their dreams.

My Verdict: Anandi is one of those books that you can relate it. The author has written it with utmost dedication so that it can touch the hearts of people.

I'll personally ask everyone who can read Hindi to give it a read. Trust me when I say you will fall in love with the writing of the author.

Fluid and immersive. An illustrative symbol of women's empowerment. That is what perfectly defines Aanandi by Jyoti Jha. The story of a remarkable young girl. An inspiring story of a determined woman to be self-reliant.

Beginning in a small village in Bihar, it is a story spanning decades as Aanadi battles cultural and economic limitations with little or no support. Rising above poverty with single-minded determination using education and self-reliance. Narrated in episodic chapters that are standalone short stories woven together effortlessly.

If you enjoy reading Hindi books, I highly recommend you pick Aanandi. And if you enjoy audiobooks, go for it. Listening to an author narrate her own book is always a treat.
