Shady Baby Feels was very cute! Great first book of emotions for little ones, and the messages and illustrations are engaging for all ages. Pre-ordered for a friend who shared, "appreciated the combo of baking and emotions because it was super relatable to my 3-year-old boy." We love!

SHADY BABY FEELS is a cute board book that features Shady Baby who is baking some cupcakes with her parents. As things go awry and are fixed, Shady Baby experiences different emotions. They end up finishing the cupcakes, and Shady Baby feels proud!

What I loved: This is a fun way for young readers to match emotions with expressions. The text is brief, but shows how Shady Baby feels with a simple sentence. There are a few additional sentences to provide context as the baking process continues, but it mainly labels the emotions along with the expressive character. Simple backgrounds and an adorable main character will work well for the youngest of readers, and the low amount of text on each page is perfect for older infants and young toddlers.

While it does not go into details for any of the emotions or resolution of them, this is a great early book to talk about emotions, which primarily allows children to match up facial expressions with emotion labels.

Final verdict: SHADY BABY FEELS is a sweet board book that helps to introduce emotions to little ones in a charming story about baking!

Love this continuation of the Shady Baby book collection. This was a lot of fun, and the emotions shared are really valuable and tell a whole plot in a short little board book!

Cute book about emotions. I like that it follows a storyline. It is a simple book, but a great book for parents to build on to teach their littles about emotions.

My granddaughter paid a little bit of attention. She definitely likes some pages better than others and kept flipping back to those specific pages.

Good emotions and action. I don't have much connection to this book though.

I found it boring and like pages were missing because I don’t know how we moved from one feeling to the next? But Elliot said “wow” at the end in a good way so I gave it an extra star.

My 2 year old likes this book, she is captivated by the illustration. The spilled milk, the tear drop... it all feels very real to my little as she describes the circumstances and emotions. "Spilled the milk, sad, yummy cupcakes". She also finds the dough on the nose silly.
