Hulagu's Web: The Presidential Pursuit Of Senator Katherine Laforge

Rate this book
The bullet riddled campaign bus of senator Katherine Laforge is found on a lonely snow swept road near Charlestown New Hampshire. Who are the assassins behind this deadly attack of a presidential candidate? Who wants her dead? Has her unorthodox quest for peace between Iraq and the USA incensed her foreign policy adversaries to the point of killing her? Could the perpetrators of this attack be any of the thousands of accountants, Lawyers or IRS agents who fear and loathe Katherine's campaign pledge to replace Income tax with a simple national sales tax? Is her support and policies for the United States to end its reliance on foreign oil, incendiary enough for the billionaire oil cartel to silence her? Is she a victim of an Islamic militant's reprisal for her outspoken view on their Jihad? Or is this attack simply because Senator Katherine Laforge is now a clear and present danger to the age-old bastion of men at the helm of the United States?

Hulagu’s Web is a spine-tingling political thriller that laced with controversy. The controversies illustrated in the book are realistic, it is not the make-believe non-sense that I’ve read on other books. The book is not simply entertaining it is as well enlightening and educational. Although it is compelling thriller, it has something that most thrillers don’t possess; Hulagu’s Web has a “heart”. It displays the human emotion in its truest sense. This book is definitely a GOOD READ, in real sense of the word and I like Senator Katherine Lafroge. How I wish she’s real.

It is chilling to realize that those controversial issues tackled on the book are true, that there are people who are willing kill just to protect their own interest. It seems scary but nevertheless enlightening and educational. I guarantee that this book will be worth every penny and minute you spend for it.

I like the way how the author touches the delicate and controversial political and social issues, the way he informs reader of the REALITY using the fictional characters. The quotes and speeches delivered by my favorite "senator" Kat Lafroge are very mind provoking that makes me think deeply and analyze carefully the things that are happening on the society especially the political aspect not only in the US but of the world. This book could a stir some serious controversy, and could irritate some people in political and business world.

5 star for Hulagu’s Web and a thumbs up for David J Hearne.

From the moment you start reading Hulagu's Web, The Presidential Pursuit of Senator Katherine Laforge, you will be captivated. David Hearne has written a fast paced political thriller that will keep you turning the pages at record speed, right to the end. This action packed novel is about Katherine Laforge (Kat), a modern day women, who is running for presidential office. She is a strong woman who sticks to her morals and strong beliefs even though she is threatened every step of the way. She is a women that I truly would stand behind as a presidential candidate. Kat also carries with her secrets that will make your mind ponder... could this all really be happening in our world today. Hearne's amazing writing keeps readers intrigued by making us take a hard look at world happenings and their impact on our everyday life. What the media may have missed or just not wanted you to know, he divulges. He intertwines into this great story the reality of terrorism, the application of questionable scientific programs for political purposes, the impact of high stake private interest groups and their corruption of modern day politics, the Iraq war and so much more.

Hulagu's Web is a must read, riveting thriller that I would recommend to anyone who loves a book that really makes you dig deep into your conscience and consider things you might never have thought possible. Hearne did a superb job of really making me question and truly wonder if the plots he brought to life in this novel are plausible. So, pick up your copy today and begin this suspense filled journey. You will not be disappointed.

Katherine Laforge is an admirable woman running for presidential office when her election bus is gunned down. The book starts off running and doesn't slow down much.

It mixes relevant issues, politics, mystery, and suspense to create a fictional story that you sometimes feel could be real.

It doesn't hold back from emotions and confronts many problems Americans are facing today. Or didn't even know they might be facing.

There was a lot to like in this book. If you are even mildly intrigued/interested, you'll probably enjoy the read.

I really enjoyed this book. It touched on many issues that are important today; the war in Iraq, a flat tax, alternate energy and would a woman ever become president of the United States. The story of Senator Katherine Laforge has a very interesting twist which is one I would have never expected. If you like books about polotical intrigue, this book should be on your to read list.

There were many twists and turns. The flow was a little choppy which prevented me from really diving into the account. Overall, a decent book.
