This is the first book I've read by Brian W. Smith ad could not put it down! The book was so well written, I felt as if I was part of the story. It kept me at the edge of my seat. What would you do for a life of luxury? How far would you go to save your own child? Who can you trust? THS story is full of lies, lust, deceit and unconditional love. Brian thank you for giving me something "different and true to life". You have a new fan! You are officially part of my book budget) lol ...more

This was a good book. Interesting from beginning to end. The ending was surprising to me. I've read quite a few of Mr. Smith's books and he never disappoints. Looking forward to reading the sequel to this book. Larry's got a Secret. ...more

At first glance of the story line I could not wait to start reading this. With so many families integrated these days is it possible to love someone else's child as much as your own? Who do you try to rescue first in the middle of a tragedy? Can you then live with the choice you make? All of these questions were explored in this novel.

I enjoyed Brian W. Smith's writing style from the beginning. Instead of me just reading a book, I felt like I was being told a story by a good friend who didn't le

From the first page to the end, this story holds you captive. If you have no idea what's it about the better, if you have a slight idea your imagination will drive you mad. There are so many twist and turns that you will be unprepared for the Brian* ending. Yep, the type of ending Brian Smith is known has its own name. You never know what to expect. My advice is don't become endeared (or hate) a character because your feelings are prone to change, even against your wishes.

I read this book in a day. It was short but a little predictable. Not only was Nina selfish from the very beginning but I agreed with Larry's sister Barbara that she didn't deserve him for real. His poor daughter didn't stand a chance, when you think about. I think the ending was somewhat predictable but still enjoyable. Larry was always on the scene so that didn't surprise me at all. The plot was entertaining. ...more

Great characters & storyline. I tried to like Nina but knowing her intentions were dishonest prevented me from doing such. Larry was a gem. Val & Tyrone were 2 of a kind... With Brian Smith's writing, it's so easy to get caught up in the story- I was finished reading in no time. This was a very good book & I'm planning on reading the sequel soon. ...more

Who could make the choice between saving the life of your biological child and your special needs step child?

Even though this is a serious topic, I love the comedic break that the author offers when he uses his characters to discuss the choices of men with no facial hair.

I loved the reference to a BWS work "Deadbeat" by using the character names and not mentioning the book title. BWS followers will get the reference.

Brian W. Smith's "Nina's Got A Secret" examines the lengths to which a parent would go to save their child/children through the juxtaposition of wealth, convenience, and survival skills. A well-written contemporary read that blends street sense, common sense, and precision, "Nina's Got A Secret" is a thrill ride that keeps it's own pages turning in a reader's hands. ...more

Smith has a book titled, Quagmire and Nina found herself in one that was a catalyst to the series of events that surrounded her throughout the story. Unpredictable plot twists are a hallmark of Smith’s and he did not disappoint in Nina’s Got a Secret. I enjoyed this book and read it in one day because it was such a page turner.

Brian W. Smith has a great writing style, but has a similar story like most urban fiction writers. I felt like I was reading another story about women plotting and manipulating men with money to marry them or to be financially secure. As well as many urban fiction writers tend to write about molestation happening to young girls by family members, sexual innuendos, and/or works in a strip club (or similar professions such as working in a brothel).

Sticky Situation

Nina finds herself stripping for a living after her boyfriend is murdered. At the moment, this is the best way for her to make a living to provide for her and her daughter, Precious.

Larry is a sports agent. He lost his wife to cancer and now it's just him and Chrissy, his Autistic daughter. While frequenting the strip club he finds himself drawn to Nina. After Nina is involved in an altercation, Larry comes to the rescue.

`Nina's Got A Secret' opens with the wedding of Larry and

Larry Dennison and Nina Arcenaux have substantial things in common. Both lost the loves of their lives on the exact same date and they both have 8-year-old daughters in need of additional parents. More importantly, Larry is very successful with finances that can offer Nina the plush lifestyle she's always wanted to live. Admittedly, Larry knows that Nina doesn't love him, but it's his hope that she would learn to love him. At least she's appreciative for all that he's offered her. Howeve
Great new author! I always b eerie about the authors "Zane Presents", this is the first author she's presented that I have enjoyed reading. The character Val before she turned an evil bitch, was hilarious! I guess this point only makes sense depending on your point of view. I understood Nina's decision, but I definitely would have [tried], damn broad! The only thing I didn't like about Nina's character was that she seemed like she was a Gemini or something, she had these different personalities. ...more

I really enjoyed this book. What would you do if your wife of a few months was in an accident and your autistic daughter was in the car and died because your wife chose to save her biological child before she tried to saved her stepchild???? When this dark secret is discovered there are so many twists and turns Nina takes to try to keep this from her husband. Not to mention she really is not in love with him but more so in love with what he can do for her. The plot made for a very good read. The ...more

Another great read by Brian W. Smith. Larry who first appeared to be naive, whipped and trying to change a whore into a housewife was not so naive after all. Larry is not best looking guy, but is the ultimate man in every other aspect. A complete gentleman, well read, rich, smart, chivalrous, lover of children. He is my dream man, but not Nina's. Nina married Larry for security and gets caught up in her web of deceit when she makes a very selfish decision that turns Larry's world upside down.

Nina is something else! She didn't deserve a man like Larry. I think Larry should have listened to his sister, Barbara, when she told him not to marry Nina.
