This was some bullshit!!
Before my rant I want to give a shout out to my buddy D.L. Howe for doing this buddy read with me. I'm sorry girl I didn't realize I was gonna be putting you through hell lol.
Anyhoo...
This needed about 100 pages of angst filled ridiculousness lopped out.
This was like the worst of the worst YA. You have almost 21 yo Reagan, an omega, who is bucking convention and doing whatever it takes to get out of being matched and given to an Alpha pack. At first she's snarky and sarcastic giving you high hopes for how things are gonna go. What she devolves into is a dogmatic stubborn ass that acts like a petulant 13 yo. All you need to know is Reagan believes all Alpha's are bad and treat omega's like shit and she doesn't want kids.
So let me save you all the hair pulling. Because Reagan's two older alpha brothers picked on her about being an omega and said mean things to her as a little girl, she will never mate with alphas because they all are terrible and just use omegas to knot. Even though her dads are wonderful and her little brother. So you can skip the next 300 pages where no matter what Lucas, Marco, and Cory, the alphas of the Bullet Pack, do to show her they are sweet, wonderful, caring, and respectful of all her fucked up boundaries she keeps reminding them and us and she won't mate. Remember all alphas are bad despite what your lying eyes tell you.
I was so aggravated and irritated at this idiot I started feeling a little stabby.
So if you like hundreds of pages where the h has plenty of TSTL moments, argues with herself and denies what she really wants in angsty inner monologues, you are gonna be in hog heaven. But everytime one of these guys made her food or did something else thoughtful and sweet for her and she broke their spirit by continuing to tell them to their face "I won't mate you" I just wanted to strangle and slap some sense into her.
and then steal those Alphas for myself...
There was Lucas the broody dominant alpha who also acts like a teenager for most of the book yet still had some yummy moments. But the bright spots of this were Marco and especially Cory. Cory had one blue eye and one green, long hair and he cooks as his love language....plus he loves reading romance and alien smut novels.
Marco and Cory are the only reason this is getting higher than one star.

I really dislike worlds where "body betrayal syndrome" is the norm. I hate that she wants to be free but the guys are sniffing her arousal when she is being bullied by Lucas.
I also hate a world where people are sold as slaves and it's the norm. No thank you.
Sometimes, omegaverse is used as a way to build a crap world where people don't have choice and I hate that.

This was a cute contemporary sweet omegaverse.

I like the sweet omegaverse and was predisposed to like this book. But the push-pull with "I like them and want them sexually, but I can't give in to this attraction because I don't want to be a pack omega" just dragged on too long. The author kept alluding to some trauma in Reagan's past to explain why Reagan was so adamant about not wanting to be mated, but wouldn't tell us exactly what had happened until 70% into the book.
When the trauma was revealed, it didn't seem to be terrible enough to have impacted Reagan's choices the way it did. It didn't explain Reagan's intransigence on the issue of mating and having babies. I understood that she didn't want to be a typical omega, but I didn't understand why she would see mating as a fate worse than death, especially since she had a very positive example in her mother's relationship with her three fathers. From personal experience, she could see that there are good alphas -- her own dads -- and she could also see that being a pack omega didn't make her mother a slave or take away her mother's personal freedom. Therefore, her inner struggles to accept a mating seemed silly to me, and I felt that she had overreacted to the traumatic incident in her past.
Plus, I didn't see anything that explained why she was so adamantly against having kids. It wasn't something brought up in her past trauma. I think she doesn't want kids just because she thinks a perfect omega is supposed to want them and she's determined not to be a perfect omega, but that's a very juvenile and reactive way of looking at things. In fact, the first thing she does in this book shows how reactive she is. She grabs hold of a guy and drags him into a closet to have sex with him, not because she's attracted to him or even because she's horny. No, she does it just because she doesn't want to attend the Compatibility Ceremony and is looking for a way out. She uses him, and since she feels like everyone wants to use her, that left a sour taste in my mouth.
I didn't have much respect for her because she's like a rebellious teenager who wilfully refuses everything that people tell her she should be or that they expect her to be, without considering whether it's actually something that she really does or does not want for herself. I did appreciate that she was fighting to remain her own person rather than just be saddled with an "omega" identity. But I would have respected her more if she had consciously thought about what kind of person she wanted to be and then fought to be that person, rather than just fighting against the notion of being "the perfect omega".
Her immaturity and self-centredness was also revealed when she couldn't stand that her bodyguard was ignoring her and staying alert because he was guarding her. She made it a personal mission to distract him and break down his stoic facade, to get him to interact with her. This really showed how much of an idiot she was because she knew the previous pack omega had been murdered, and Reagan herself had received death threats, yet she never once seemed worried about the threats or took them seriously.
So that was Reagan. I liked the guys -- Lucas, Cory, and Marco. They were sweethearts. However, I did think it odd that they bought her as a maid, yet didn't put her in a maid's room. They gave her a bedroom on the same level as their own, with an en suite bath that includes a jacuzzi! What? So, right from the start they didn't establish an employer-employee relationship with her, which didn't make sense to me, since they were so adamant they didn't want a pack omega. Then why put her in the same room that their previous pack omega had used???
I feel this is why the push-pull went on too long. From the very first, Reagan's role in their pack is ambiguous -- which maid is allowed to raid the wine cellar and drink anything she wants? -- and thus the only conflict comes from her pushing away the physical attraction and trying to remind herself that she doesn't want to mate with anyone. If she had really started out being treated as a maid, it would have been more interesting to see the relationships evolve from there.
The threats against Reagan seemed... not menacing enough. And also, why threaten her? That made no sense. The threats ought to have gone to the pack alphas, because they're the ones with the power and authority to act or do what the stalker wanted, not Reagan. And why tell her, "You were warned," when there were no prior demands for her to do anything? The demand only comes in the next message. I thought the threats were poorly conceived.
When the attack finally does come, I thought it came out of nowhere and was slightly anticlimactic. There wasn't enough escalation prior to it. In fact, some information about how the previous pack omega had been murdered and whether there had been threats prior to that incident would also have helped to build the tension, to show that history was repeating itself, and that the threats should be taken seriously. We keep hearing that she was murdered, but we are never told what actually happened. Also, something about the attack on Reagan didn't make sense:
Finally, the loose ends were never tied up: what happened to the would-be murderer? What punishment did he get? How did they discover his motives? Did he confess? What had he hoped to achieve by murdering Reagan? I mean, it seems silly to have gone after her when she wasn't even mated to the pack at that point.
Overall, it fell short of being a truly absorbing and satisfying read.

Knot For Me was a fantastic contemporary omegaverse with a snarky and funny FMC and the three alphas that become her pack. This was on the sweeter side of omegaverses I've read, but still with a society that has its issues when it comes to dynamics and packs. The book is told in first person, multi-POV and the pacing/flow of the book was so well done, I couldn't put it down for the whole afternoon. This is a standalone and there's no mm/ff or ow/om drama.
Reagan was a complicated FMC who had some trauma in her past and also didn't fit the societal idea of what an omega should be. Because of that, she recklessly makes a choice to sabotage being paired with a pack and gets a punishment that ultimately lands her with Pack Bullet (thankfully). Reagan often used humor and sarcasm because that's her personality, but also how she responds to situations that make her uncomfortable and there is a lot going on initially that's uncomfortable. She doesn't want to be an omega for a pack and keeps reminding everyone that she's their maid, but she is so attracted to these alphas and them to her, there's a lot of push/pull. I did wish that some of the vulnerability and openness came earlier in the book, but the characters needed time to get there.
I really liked the different ways that Reagan connects with the alphas. Each of the guys has their own personalities and how they interact with each other and her and the pack is very balanced in my opinion, with Reagan rounding them out nicely. Lucas is a jerk to start and the more dominant of the guys. There are a lot of misperceptions between him and Reagan, even as the angry sparks between them are also lustful sparks. The guys also don't want an omega initially because of their past so their mindset also has to switch (there is a past omega mentioned but no pining for those worried). Then add in that they're trying to change their society and there's a threat to Reagan because of being in their home and there are definitely layers to this plot.
There's plenty of steaminess in the story, but it's not the focus here. We do get heat, knotting, and nesting so plenty of omegaverse goodness. Reagan bonds with the female beta and their budding friendship is hilarious and nice. Reagan also has a loving family who provide support, affection, and a dash of humor too. I felt like the ending HEA was sweet and believable and that the threads of the story were all wrapped up nicely. I really would like more in this world esp seeing how certain changes have an effect. It looks like Ms. Miles has another standalone already on pre-order and I'm excited to see where that one takes us.

An enjoyable read

(Feeling bummed because I accidentally erased this review so it’s not as polished as it was before) Apologies in advance.
Also warning this review is kind of spoilery in some parts so if you don’t want any. I would advise you not to read it.
I’m not going to lie, I don’t typically read books with dead exes, spouses, or mates, etc etc. Because I’ve had some horrible experiences with it in romance and RH.
….Honestly, I didn’t love that the men had an omega before the fmc either. The only reason I felt safe enough to read, was because it was an arranged situation where the men only knew her for two weeks before she died. That and they never mated her. So if you are like me and that worries you, you can be reassured by that.
One thing that needs to be said is that I love Roary Mile’s fmcs they are always these feisty creatures who are equally as funny as they are attractive. If I’m not attracted to an fmc’s character chances are I’m probably not going to enjoy the story much. This wasn’t like that.
Reagan was everything I love in an fmc, she’s hilarious and smart. She’s sexy and sexual which is why she’s in the situation she’s in. She’s not a pure untouched omega and thank goodness for that!
I loved the men too, well Marco and Cory they were sexy and sweet and well Lucas grows on you! He has that sexy alpha male thing going for him that’s just 🔥🔥🔥 hot.
Surprisingly though, I did NOT love the first sex scene. Lucas drove me absolutely mad with his insistence that Reagan beg him for sex. It was meant to be kinky for sure but he came off as pretentious to me and it took me out of the moment. The first time he asked her, it was fine, the 2nd time okay, but the third and fourth time. I was lowkey over it and screaming at my Ereader for him shut up and f *** her already. 🥴😳
That being said though, the other sex scenes were Fire 🔥, chefs kiss. Delicious, whatever scrumptious adjective you want to put/insert here. They were great!
Another thing I loved was the relationship between Amelie and Reagan. I could read their interactions with each other all day. I loved those two and I wish more books had those type friendships between females characters like this. Because they were truly hilarious!
The one thing I will complain about is that because of the Emily situation I wished the men verbalized how much they loved the fmc.
Don’t get me wrong we can tell they care about her and yearn for her through their pov and actions. If I’m being honest they’ve wanted Reagan to be their omega pretty early on in the story and the only thing standing between that was herself. And I loved how much they wanted her, I did, one of the men even stated that Lucas got even more volatile with Reagan than he did with Emily and that he hadn’t even wanted her (Emily). I get that, I do. However, I just really needed that extra reassurance.
Spoiler:
And I’m not just saying the “I love you” they chimed back to her at the very end of story after SHE said it to them. Nor the “you’re perfect.” they keep repeating to her through out the story. That’s sweet and all but didn’t really give me what I needed.
Anyways that’s just me being extra picky, and I actually really enjoyed this story. I can’t wait for Party girl, if the fmc is anything like Reagan I know I’ll love her.

Unlike other omegas in Reagan’s world, the last thing she wants is to find herself mated or having babies. She’s so adamant against her oncoming heat she’ll do anything to get out of the Compatibility Ceremony that’ll match her with a pack. Desperate Reagan goes a little highschool in sticking it to the system and unfortunately it has the opposite affect. Instead Reagan is sent to the auctions where the bad omegas go to be sold and more often than not treated like cattle. Even during the auction Reagan’s antics don’t end and I kinda loved her for that. When the only power she had was her words and her voice, she still continued to be defiant and even a little annoying to make her more off putting. Of course it doesn’t work the way she hoped but luckily Reagan is taken in by a kinder group of alphas.
The book was more emotion based than I expected. Reagan has a lot of trauma from her past and it really dictates her present/future. In fact she has a lot to learn about herself and what it means to be an omega. She’s built it up into such a horrible thing, what she is frightens her more than anything and so she fights it every step of the way. Because of this, her relationship with the men is very slow moving but gives them all time to get to know one another before her heat hits. A minor threat lingers adding a little action but for the most part the book is tame, aside from the knotting of course 😏 On that note this is a shifter-less Omega-verse read which somehow still confounds me many books later. Overall it was an enjoyable and fairly quick read.

A minor threat lingers adding a little action but for the most part the book is tame, aside from the knotting of course 😏 On that note this is a shifter-less Omega-verse read which somehow still confounds me many books later. Overall it was an enjoyable and fairly quick read.

This was a solid read! There was great steam and I enjoyed the characters.
I really liked Reagan and how she handled things. At times, her omega nature would take over her body, which isn’t my favorite thing in omegaverse stories, but otherwise i liked her. There were times it felt like feelings were developing quickly based on the time frame.
The guys were separate enough and I enjoyed them, though i did feel like Lucas got the most development and was the focus for the majority of the first half. I would’ve liked it to a bit more equal, but it picks up a bit more with the other guys in the second half.
The guys did have a previous omega who died before they mated with her, but her things were still in the room that Reagan gets assigned to. There were no romantic feelings there but they did have pain from her death. Otherwise, no OW drama.

Did it drive me mad with angst and have me on the edge of my seat? No, not quite, but it was a solid, enjoyable read. I would even say this edges toward a ⭐⭐⭐⭐ because it has some reread potential for me.
Knot for Me follows the vein of Sam Hall's The Season series and Lola Rock's Pack Darling in the sense that Reagan is an *omega with issues* which is an increasingly popular trope in RH ABO releases.
If you liked both of those, there are some comfortable moments in Knot for Me that might reach out to your little book-loving heart because Miles has definitely pinned down some moments/aspects that readers are into right now.

✔️ Omega/alpha bonding over a love of some kind of food
✔️ Omega and pack meeting under dubious, false, or unwanted circumstances
✔️ Getting to know each other with no intention of there being a *real* mating
✔️ An omega who is not on the "save some batteries, ride an alpha" train
✔️ A society where the omegas are repressed/controlled/not treated as equal citizens with brains and desires of their own
✔️ Snark galore, with a leading lady who throws around a healthy amount of f-bombs
✔️ High-pressure 🥵 heat scenarios
For me, the characters are a bit surface-level, which is the main reason for the rating decision, but as far as standalones go, it gave me what I needed. I know enough about the characters to keep from muddling them in my mind, there's some worldbuilding that will be built on in other installments in the universe, I'm sure, and the ABO tropes are being ticked off the list to make me feel like I got what I wanted and was in the mood for. Do I want more from the characters? Sure. Did I also enjoy the book and keep reading it? Absolutely. So that, to me, means that it's not some huge or detrimental issue, otherwise I would have moved on with my life and chosen something else.
Other than that, there are some continuity things that poked at my brain a little bit, but that was more about repetition rather than contradictions, so, like my comment about the characters, it's something I can survive and deal with.
Overall, I think the Miles did a nice job with this one, and it's an easy and accessible way to scratch that ABO itch and have a little escapist fun.

Knot for Me was so easy to devour. Or maybe it's just me and the omegaverse? Either way, I really enjoyed getting to know Reagan and the guys. Seriously, I did.
Now Reagan is an omega, but she doesn't really like being one. Mostly because of what she was taught and how she was treated by her two other brothers. So, instead of being a good omega patiently waiting to go to a new pack of alphaholes. Well, she sleeps with a beta instead and then gets caught right after.
After being caught doing the deed, she is thrown into an auction instead. Now these auctions are for the lowly ranked alphas, and they aren't necessarily nice ones either. So, it's definitely interesting for her to be bought by a certain pack. Mostly because they haven't wanted an omega for years. Especially not after what happened to their previous one. Boy did they not know what they were buying... or did they?
Long story short, I really enjoyed the bantering, friendships, and the sexual freaking tension between this group. They had obvious chemistry as well, but I just wanted them to crack. Once they finally dipped into their sexual feelings for one another, well, I was completely hooked. Heck, I was hooked from the very first chapter if I'm being completely honest here.
In the end, we had little drama and action but a whole lot of romance. Definitely enjoyed when she went into heat. Her bitchy omega side was hilarious because she was horny and hungry. I did see this one and although I was tempted by the pun title, I chose to give it a miss. One friend review later and I gave it a go. I liked it, it was soft with a bit of chaos and dark themes kept light. I liked how the trio were supportive despite not wanting an omega. I liked how Reagan stood up for herself at the auction and the chemistry tug of war between them all. The mother made me laugh with the knotmaster and the brothers sucked. Curious about Frank. Nicely rounded with the trash being taken out. The unique thing about this one is the no kids in the epilogue. Favourite parts were how carefree Reagan was with her friends.

Phew... what should I say? I really loved that book. 5 Stars instantly.
It's not, that the story was something you never have read before. I had my fair share of unwilling Omega stories or Omegas with trauma. Or Alphas not wanting an Omega. And a lot of the books, that has that in it, and the author gets inspired from are mention at the end (at least the authors). During reading this book, I immediately thought of Kathryn Moon's Sweetverse books. I would peg this one with them.
So, Rory Miles has got the right inspiration and converted it perfectly. As I said, she doesn't reinvent the wheel, but the whole setting and the feelings of the characters were well written and sucked me right in. I felt for Raegan and her Alphas. I could understand her.
But I was a hell of a lot frustrated with Raegan too. Because she was so stubborn with her opinions, even though she could see Lucas, Cory and Marco were different and that she likes them. I know, that's not how trauma works. But it was terrible to read about someone, that sabotages herself. But it's humanly to make mistakes.
At least, even though it was hard reading it, it doesn't subtract anything. I loved her inner ramblings and her digressions. It remembered me of myself. And at the end all was good. Though, I wished there were an extra epilogue or something. I wanted to read more. But I guess all good has to end someway or another.

First omegaverse read and wasn’t disappointed but also not overwhelmed. It wasn’t surprising because I have read werewolf pack romances before so I wasn’t completely out of my depth and the rules have been tic tok explained to me.
This was the first of a series so I think there was a allot of world building that had to be fit into this book and that is where the plot may have been overshadowed.
I would recommend to readers who want to break into new genres gently.

A cute omegaverse reverse harem
I loved the guys, they were really cute and sweet.
There was a lot of tension which I really liked, but the push and pull was a bit too long and when it ended, everything happened very quickly so it was a bit destabilizing
I also expected a bigger third act because of the buil up but that’s okay !

I really liked the character development in this book. Reagan was written really well. I liked her sass and her conviction, even when it was a little misguided. The guys were great too. Her beta bestie was my favorite.

Would have kept reading but everything seemed familiar so I dropped it.

If this would’ve been spicier, it would’ve been a knock out of the park.
It was good and gave me the omegaverse hit I needed, but it just needed more detailed spice scenes and I would’ve been a happy camper 🥰

So, I did really enjoy this. I'm giving it 4 stars because it definitely kept my attention, and I really enjoyed the harem dynamics. It is not, however, my long sought after RH with a live in maid (please someone give me a rec if you know of something).
So, first, the omegaverse theme is what you'd expect. Omegas join packs and establish mate bonds with their alphas. There's heats, knots, pheromones, growling, and all that yummy goodness. There's an allusion to an almost shifter-like structure with betas being protectors and omegas being grounding members. It's nothing super new as far as omegaverses go, but it's easy to follow.
Our fMC is Reagan, an omega who hates being an omega. The entire plot tension and honestly most of her personality comes from her brothers harassing her after she presented as omega. This harassment is a recurring theme, annoyingly so. My qualm is that she's written to have certain reactions to fit the plot, which ends up making her feel wishy washy. She starts off doing really impulsive, dumb things so that we have a reason to send her to auction. She's friendly and flirting one second then a brat the next. She SO adamant about not mating because it's what's expected of her... but is it what she truly wants? There's a whiff of self-imposed "I can't have them" that reminds me of Pack Darling, except... there's no OW. She's the only love interest. She's the one who decided she can't have them. Also, the first few chapters reak of "I'm not like other girls" internalized misogyny that feels really out of place and, again, childish.
The guys are okay, but I wish they were more distinct. Lucas is pretty stereotypical with his angry alphaholeness. Cory and Marcus kiiinda blend together with the main distinction being that Cory cooks. We don't get a lot of description on their appearance, so it's hard to feel invested in them. But, they are all really nice and sweet, a la Pack Darling and Sweet Omegaverse, so I like them anyway. They have cute moments like reading together and family dinners. More relationship development would have been nice, but... Reagan needs a personality for that.
The smut. Hm. It's there; don't get me wrong. It's pretty steamy when it's flirting and ooh-we-can't-have-each-other. Once things get going, though, it loses my interest. It gets kind of samey, there's not a lot of foreplay, and I've never thought DP was so vanilla. It's not bad, but I was expecting more considering this is both omegaverse and forbidden love.
There's other things happening, like the political changes, a weird threat to Reagan that honestly makes no sense, and some cute side characters. It's fine. The last few chapters wrap everything up, almost too cleanly and neatly... I wanted more drama. It's too easy. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed.

I went back and forth on what I wanted to rate this one, but I think my final answer is 2(.5) stars. I really wanted to enjoy it, I was looking for a cute and steamy omegaverse read, but I found myself struggling to move past some things. The first of which being the alphas, since they did not really have a personality. The most I could tell you is one is funny and likes to workout, one likes to read smut and is into (but not a professional with) security and baking, and one is a jerk and...that's about it. Oh, and the middle one has a man bun. We only saw glimpses of them being anything else and in those scenes and they were quickly brushed aside.
The main character was very "meh." She supposedly has all this trauma related to being a "bad omega" but the one instance that she describes is not as bad as I thought it was going to be considering how big her response to it was. Also, the whole "bad omega" thing feels way overdone in a way that makes it less believable. I think if there was a bit more of a basis for what she has gone through and all the other ways in which it impacts her beliefs about herself, I could get more on board with it. That being said, we also don't really get to know our main character much either. She is a "bad omega" because she doesn't want kids, she becomes a maid, and she likes to drink alcohol and read smut. This may be my first 5 star read in the last year. I do not give them out often and have to be really blown away to give them out. This book did that for me.
Reagan is headstrong, stubborn, sarcastic, and in her words "a bad omega". She is by far one of my favorite characters I have had the opportunity to read about. She knows things aren't "right" and it frustrates her to no end watching people just smile and accept their lot in life instead of fighting back for what they deserve.
Lucas is the alphahole that we all expect, but don't let that fool you. There is more to unravel than we realize. Marco is the smarta$$. Always quick to crack a joke and find the innuendo in anything, he is still fierce when protecting his friends and loved ones. Cody, sweet Cody. He is my favorite and a man after my own heart with his love of reading and cooking for his family. Like Marco, he is fierce when he needs to be and he shows that a few times during the story. It's hot, lol.
And we cannot forget the new BFF Amelia. I can only imagine what kind of shenanigans she and Reagan will get into together. I hope we get to see more of them in future books.

This book started really strong and I really thought I was going to like it, which is the only reason I'm rounding up.
Honestly, I hated the heroine. There's a fine-line between stubborn little hellcat and immature whiny pre-teen, and she was definitely on the wrong side of that line. Her entire hangup was also based on one tiny incident that isn't even explained fully and it doesn't even come close to justifying why she's a menace and a moron and I honestly couldn't tolerate her. To be quite honest, I skimmed the majority of her POV chapters and never felt like I missed anything. Do with that information what you will.
I loved the guys though so I stayed for them. Cory especially.

The beginning was promising and I understood what Reagan was scared about. But it was too much as if she was raped to be traumatized. Her fear to not have a relationship. But she still stays which in case makes everything more annoying with her denial about not being their Omega. I was done DNF it was just too much I started having her bratty ways. I got to 70% and just about done with the book. It would of been good if they just sent her back to be placed because she was too into herself. The guys seemed nice and different from other Alphas but it was too much of her not wanting to accept.

This book would have deserved a solid 5 stars since it had all the right ingredients to make it an epic sweetverse omegaverse novel. And I really wanted to rate it at 5 stars… if not for certain flaws. So let me get down on the part that hurts first.
The first 30% of the book was horrible to read. Everything it in was wrong: the tone, the dialogue, the characters, everything. I was slapped silly to discover that this book, which I had been anticipating based on the alluring blurb, was falling so flat into a mind bogging mediocrity. I wanted to strangle Reagan with her loose mouth and not-funny retorts. I wanted to shake the Hs for their YA demeanours. And I wanted to slap some brains into Reagan for her whiny in-your-face attitude and apparent dumbness. Judge for yourself: the mouthy girl created a scandal to avoid being matched to a most probably wealthy pack in a kind of mock princess ceremony because she rebelled at the idea of being a pampered broodmare with no control of her life; at this point, I was totally on her side (and it excitedly gave me the same good vibes as another sweetverse book) until I understood that she did not give some thoughts at all at what would happen next for her; the said lady was actually stunned, and wary, to learn that she will be sent by force to a sordid Omega auction where sleazy packs bought Omegas to do whatever they wanted (noting that she was well aware that this kind of place existed and that bad omegas went there). She is then rescued by the charity of Pack Bullet (ugh the name 🤨), courteously addressed by 3 kind guys, taken to their mansion to work as their maid (not sex slave and no expectation of any sex as the guys do not want a mate), and instead of being at least a little bit grateful for escaping a dire situation which could have gone terribly south, what does she do? She launches herself into non-stop snarky childish retorts and is outraged that these Alphas had the ‘nerve’ to buy her since ‘what kind of man does that’… 😬😓
By now, I was gritting my teeth hard and seething: Girl that is your world, you know how it works even if obviously it is not fair to omegas, and being aware of all it, you never tried to stop these auctions. Your political choice. And while it is not fair that omegas have to go into these disgusting practices, you were lucky to be rescued by gentlemen and you are not being mistreated at all, so why the bloody heck are you whining as if they did you a disservice and as if you cannot believe that these auctions take place??!? Would you have preferred to be like these other omegas with you at the auction who were sold for pittances to sleazy Alphas? Why the fake shock at what you've known is a sad reality?
Then, Reagan launched herself in schizophrenic-like inner monologue about being thankful to them, about how strange that they are not treating her like a slave, but yet still running her mouth loose, saying vulgarly ‘Fuck’ in each of her sentences, on the pretext that she has a devilish sense of humour/ sarcasm and getting in the face of Lucas all the time. And all the while, she keeps lusting about them and wetting herself (and everyone being aware because of her perfume), and there are other plot oddities like her caring parents and siblings who threatened to harm anyone who harms her but obviously could not do anything about the auction system, or like Reagan pretending to us that she is a maid who cleans one room a day for a few minutes and then sits down to read alien smut books! And that was all at 30%. There are tons of other items that would take too much energy to dissect. The long list of comments and highlights I made while reading up to this point are witnessed to my utter frustration at how the book plot fell into ludicrous inanity.
So why the 4 stars then? Surprisingly, at the 30% mark, the first sex scene (hot) happened and after that the writing magically fell into place together with the plot and the characters. I was at last seeing the promising book that the blurb had teased! I am still wondering what the heck happened with the first 30% of the book. As often, if I tried to rationalize and find an excuse for RM, I would say that the first part was more reactional angst from Reagan’s part as she could not believe the kind of mess that the loose mouth led her into and that rushed forward all her fears and anxieties that she had nurtured against Alphas and mating (due to her trauma, more on that later) and hence her obnoxiousness was essentially her nasty defence mechanism. And that is another problem of the book: it should not be my place to rationalize the whys and hows. As much as I don’t expect an author to spoon-feed me plot points, I expect a minimum service of logicalizing apparent inanities.
Moving on over the catastrophic 30%, the rest of the book was a highly enticing read mainly because the Alphas, Lucas, Cory and Marco were absolute darlings. They had their faults but they were very considerate and patient lovers in face of tempestuous Reagan. I slowly began to appreciate Reagan as well as she calmed down enough to act as a human with the guys. The plot development then followed a nice path, exactly what makes sweetverse a great drug: chivalrous Alphas, sweet seductions, small sweet one-on-one scenes, some action, some threats, some testosterone-filled protectiveness, funny moments and banter, some badassery and rescue and of course, sweet hot sex scenes. The moments leading to the heat scene were of course deliciously slow burn and the heat scene itself, though medium (good!) steamy on my scale, was very, very well-written and is one of the best sweetverse heat scene of the genre (btw, for an RH, 3 is definitely the right number of Alphas 😍😊) – so much that every sweetverse should try to take example of what happened in this book (including a book close to my heart that should have emulated this but unfortunately did not 😥). A little more explicit spice would have been welcomed 🙏, but I am very thankful that there were no spanking scene 😬, or other bdsm stupid 💩.
The romance between Reagan and the boys was believable because it was a slow burn and developed in good pace. My only regret is that she did not feel that she needed to discuss with them and explain, at least where we could witness it, the trauma she experienced at the hands of her brothers that made her be afraid of Alpha mates and refuse to have children. If she had, they would have reassured her long ago that they were not controlling Alphas and did not care about heirs. But no, she chose to confide in her mother and her friend and solve her problems herself. While I respect the vibe of girl power, communication is key in any durable and trustful relationship.
The writing style in the 70% was good even if it lacked the intensity, especially in important high angst moments where sucker punch writing would have helped anchor the story to epic level. But I know writing is difficult and I am happy to contend with steadfast style against bad style any time of the year. Sometimes there were some contrived plot situations (e.g. leaving Reagan alone with no bodyguard at the ball when she had a bodyguard all week long when the house was empty, just so she could be molested by two Alphas and rescued by her Alphas) and the ending was too cheesy easy, but compared to the 30%, I am willing to suspend any kind of disbelief. Funnily, RM has sometimes forestalled some of my burning rants by providing, though a bit too much after the scenes where the rants originated, answers to explain her plot reasoning. For example, I was wondering on how packs were formed and later on the answer was dropped. More interesting, when I first learned of the trauma of Reagan, I will admit I was sceptical because her flashback to her big bad brothers’ behaviour, though hurtful, would not have been qualified by me as traumatic enough to explain present Reagan. Guess what, RM then inserted a small scene some chapters later to warn against ‘dick measuring trauma’ and that ‘trauma is trauma’ and ‘size does not matter’. Realistically, I was just slightly chastised (I still think that the flashback at least should have sucker punched more, even if not in action level, but in words' choice) but was very amused at RM’s nice fight back.
Other than that, I loved Reagan’s mom – she is the best mom to have 😘, I laughed so much at how she casually got at the prudishness of her daughter. One of my favourite scenes of this book, besides the heat scene, and here I have to give my kudos to RM, is the combat training scene where Marco and Lucas gave realistically and sweetly control into the hands of Reagan. *sigh* these Alphas melt my heart and other parts 🤤☺. I also loved that RM brought in a theme that is always close to my heart, the Men-who-hate-women trope (re: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’s aptly named original title). Though it was approached on the ‘lighter’ side in the book, it is always worth denouncing that many men (out of books) do not really love women even if they lust after them. These misogynistic cave men think that women are beneath them and teach their sons to perpetuate this distorted thinking. Women do not expect white knights but they rightly deserve respect. There is value in educating young boys to respect any other human being out there before they grow into men; and there is value in educating girls that they should not tolerate slut shaming and should always voice out for mutual respect.
So, what a book! Not perfect by far, and I am still puzzling over what happened in the first 30%, but the near perfect 70% proved that RM has the capacity and high potential to do much, much better in her next sweetverse, as her heart and mind are in the right place with solid instincts to bring the right ingredients for an epic angsty read – it is only the execution and details that needs polishing for epicness imho. This is my honest review about how I lived the book, line by line, not meant to hurt the sensibility of anyone, as I really want to commend RM on the way this book turned out – reason why I rated it 4 stars! – and really wish to read more of her works. I am still wondering how extended packs work in RM’s sweetverse world as not much was explained beyond the awesome two betas. I guess this will be in the next instalment that RM has promised.

This was a solid omegaverse RH story, I won't spoil any major plot points beyond the updated content warnings at the bottom — I enjoyed that the men were individuals and the time she got to spend with them one on one was very sweet; I would’ve *loved* more slice-of-life time with them. The reading especially was SO CUTE.
Reagan was a fiery FMC and I loved that she pushed back against what was expected of her, not just to make waves but because she didn’t want children and wasn’t going to sacrifice herself and her ideals just because some society rules demanded it. I also like that the pack also had these feelings separately, no one had to convince anyone of anything other than giving a mating bond a chance; they didn’t need to be convinced of her worth, their worth, or that things were messed up in their society.
I did feel like Reagan’s resistance dragged on a little longer than really necessary and I def rolled my eyes that the Bad Thing ™ happened when she finally came around. But I appreciate there wasn’t a third-act break up and that they obv get their HEA & everything works out that is supposed to. I’ll definitely pick up the next one to see what happens with their world.
The narration itself was okay, Bridget did a better job changing her voice character to character imo but Jake had more voices to do and keep track of… I just wish he had made the three main males sound a little more different because I did find myself confused on who was speaking at times because they sound all the same when they get all alpha mode. I really like how they narrate together though and I know I’ll pick up more narrated by them in the future. They’re popular picks for a reason!
I did think the trigger warnings leave a bit to be desired... but I was happy they were included at all. These are what I would suggest: Familial (sibling) abuse (verbal and physical), attempted sexual assault, murder (not MCs), attempted murder (of FMC), human trafficking/auction*, and classism

I snatched this book during stuff my kindle and don’t regret it one bit.
Tho the story isn’t per se original, it was a very entertaining read.

I don’t think I hated this book, but I genuinely didn’t like it. There were several times when I was reading that I was saying or frustrated or just straight confused.
The book spends three weeks however it feels like five months because nothing happens but also a lot happens in a day so a lot of nothing happens each day that it makes it feel like you’re reading months when you know that she only has three weeks until her heat.
The entire time the FMC is super frustrating. She doesn’t communicate any of her reasonings. Why she is the way she is the entire book. The only person she tells is the one friend she makes so the guys the entire book even at the end still don’t know why she doesn’t want to be an omega or be there, Omega. They never push her on it. They don’t confess any sort of deep emotional feelings with her. They just end up having their heat and then after her heat they’re like oh we should all totally be together.
Also, the slight bullying that one of the MMC’s does during 40% of the book is more frustrating than anything else. You never get any emotional sympathy from him. You don’t feel like he regrets the way that he treated her in the beginning and you definitely don’t feel like he deserves a relationship with her. The other two guys are this like weird comic relief for the whole book so you don’t really have an emotional connection with them. You have more of a friendship vibe so you’ve got a bully and two friends and it’s just uncomfortable.
I found it really easy to read this book. It was rather quick it took one day however, we definitely didn’t need almost 500 pages when nothing really happened and then all the sudden the conclusion is wrapped up extremely extremely quickly. It’s very unsatisfying so don’t go into this thinking that you’re going to get any sort of satisfying feelings from any of the “bad guys” as. You will not.

I’m obsessed with omegaverse right now and Rory Miles delivered for sure.
Reagan was a different than usual Omega, wanting the opposite to what she’s been condition to aim towards her whole life. She’s strong, smart, feisty and says it exactly how it is, she’s been through a lot growing up and has a protectiveness over herself due to some harm done by her older Alpha brothers growing up, I really felt for her.
The guys I loved, they have such a close brotherhood connection and I absolutely loved the change they were trying to make in their society, especially when they listened to Reagans concerns with how Omegas are treated and what they’re taught. Even though each guy was the typical individual alpha one, funny one and quieter one, they way they all connected together and with Reagan as time went on made it unique.
I loved that the book ended still with Reagan still not wanting what she said firmly in then beginning, it was authentic and absolutely her.
I’m looking forward to more books from this world.

Loved this book! It wasn’t overly omegaverse-y which I appreciate. Reagan is hilarious and smart mouthed, but by no means a damsel in distress needing saving. The guys are all sweet with no bully/meanes and of course it ends perfectly!
